Thanks and there are some really good reactors like JJLU who, always, spend a few seconds looking something up on Google, which means they know exactly what any Reference is and it saves so much time and a reactor "second Guessing" when we are thinking "Just look it up!". Simply put " Rowan Atkinson WIKI " in Google and it will show his career including his most famous role of Mr.Bean, as you, rightly, said. :)
British funny stuff Black Adder (series 2 3 & 4) staring Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean) Or if you want another sketch from Not The Nine O'clock News "Gerald the Gorilla" is just funny AF BTW Part of the reason British comedy is often different from American In American stuff the main Character usually "wins" and has a brilliant snappy response to any insult, often we wish we could be that quick minded The Brit on the other never quite makes it. They almost win. That snappy reply only pops into his head when the other person has left the room. And that Brit situation can seem so much funnier because we recognise the situation, and can empathise, it's happened to us. 😂😂😂
Their episodes ended with a micky take song about a current event or trend. "Nice Video, Shame about the Song" is definitely a product of its time. Rowan Atkinsons Judge scene is great, so is "football hooligans".
It's worth noting that the phrase "a coloured gentleman" would have been considered more polite than saying "a black man" in the early 80s, even if it's the other way round now.
Yes, Not the 9 O'clock News, it launched Rowan Atkinson along with the other 3. We tended to use "coloured" rather than black, as well, Indians, Pakistani, Chinese and other ethnic group has settled here in great numbers as well as Afro Caribbean and various African Groups. Its usage was intended to be somewhat more inclusive. Walking on the cracks on the pavement, its a Winnie the Pooh/Christopher Robin reference, everyone who had grown up in the UK at the time had grown up on those stories and knew that was a no-no (apparently the bears from London Zoo could eat you if you did!). SPG, Special Patrol Group, a roving police squad assembled and sent to protests/riots with a reputation of being on the scene whenever and anti-racist protestor died. The Hedgehog is an on going joke across the episode.
Not the Nine O'Clock News was a sketch show from '79 onwards. It was where Rowan (Mr Bean) Atkinson started out. It also started Gryff Rees Jones and Mel Smith (who had their own show, Alas Smith and Jones) plus Pamela Stephenson who's now married to Billy Connolly. Try, 'Gerald the Gorilla' from the same show.
It's not "alias Smith and Jones" that was a different program, it was just "Smith and jones" I'm assuming you said "alas" by mistake and MEANT "alias" also by mistake 😂...Sorry to have a go
What I love is that you recognise it instantly as comedy, and the big joke is against the thick-headed policeman. That's how it was meant. You diminish the power of bigots by making them a laughing stock. And he didn't look too bright.
Yes "Mr Bean" did other stuff See the "Black Adder" series (personally I'd skip series 1) It also stars, House (Hugh Laurie), Stephen Fry, Rik Mayal and other comic geniuses 😉
Not the Nine O'clock News was on a at 9 o'clock on BBC2, when the news was on BBC1 This sketch was highlighting the problems with the Stop and Search and Special Patrol Group (SPG) Griff and Rowan are brilliant. Rowan Atkinson played Mr Bean..... You need to react to more Not The Nine O'clock News and also The fast show. Gerald The Gorilla sketch is also brilliant
What should I react to next ?

For some reason "Gerald the Gorilla" is hard to find now. It's like that one particular sketch gets blocked.
@RevStickleback Strange, I've seen it reacted to a few times.
@@ajivins1 Yeah. It used to exist a while back, then it got purged for some reason.
It's not "alias Smith and Jones" that was a different program, it was just "Smith and jones" I'm assuming you said "alas" by mistake and MEANT "alias" also by mistake 😂...Sorry to have a go
@rlawrence9838 I remember a show they started with called 'Alas Smith and Jones' maybe there was a later show called just 'Smith and Jones'?
