FYI the rebuildable lower control arm joints are a limiting factor on this suspension system. They will run out of misalignment, bend the threaded retaining washer, and fail. Every time. Get the forged "narrow" Johnny joints from curry. Solved that issue. Very strong, and much more misalignment.
That's the exact reason I got this kit. I knew Curry made replacement joints, so once these give me issues I will upgrade. They're doing great for now tho
Joel Cisneros Yea, most people get them just to trash. I did the same and ended up really liking the platform. They're plenty capable and more comfortable than wranglers up to the JKs
I just installed the long arm kit on my xj. First time off road I hear a binding popping sound coming from where the passenger side control arm mounts to the cross member. Have you had any similar issues.
Yes, I think it's the kind of joint that is supplied with the kits. I don't have any issues, I just think the operation and range of motion of that style joint is going to make noise. Be sure to keep them greased often. If you hear a knocking noise in the joints, that might be cause for alarm.
@@Elisrecoveryoffroad well, I have RE 4.5" springs and a 1" coil spacer. After the springs settled it came out to 5". The rear is a bastard pack I made from a set of Dakota springs using the main XJ leaf. I used a shackle to make the ride level. Overall 5" up front and around 4-4.5 in the rear.
+BadmunkyWRX I think it's a good height, with slightly cut fenders you can clear 35s and not be so high that the jeep is unstable in off camber situations. Good luck with it!!

Hell yeah same color and year as mine
How much adjusting did you have to do with the control arms and do you remember the measurements for them.
did I just see your rig in the reader's rides in Peterson ' s this month?
Do you have to extend your brake lines for this?
Yea. I picked up brake lines from the salvage yard and rerouted mine but for 30bux, I'd just buy some.
Do those long arms mount right to the frame? Or did U get a crossmeber under the tcase
Caleb Herring the kit comes with a new cross member
How muxh lift do you have on this jeep mine is 5.5" and am debating if I can clear 35s while crawling
Joel Cisneros mine is sitting at 5 inches. Just have to limit up travel.
Did you do anything to the rear to clear 35s
Joel Cisneros I did the cut and fold. Google it, tons of info out there. I also have a video on my channel.
Thanks for the responses man im used to the wranglers the first cherokee i owned didn't really build it for crawling was more of a mud toy

Also, glorious beard
It gets pretty massive
You’re getting more angle out of the front axle than the rear. That’s the next place I would look
Have you tried removing the top passenger link? I read it fixes the issue with binding on radius arms
Never did, it did all I needed it to do and left it alone.
How much lift u have?
5 inches total.
How did u make it 5inch? I dont want a 6.5 cuz i think its tall

Im about to order there 4.5" kit, and then add a 3/4" spacer, and longer shackles.
So I should be close to the same height when I'm done.

That's what I was thinking as well.
I have Napier flat flares on the way already, and I only plan to run a 33" tire so I should be good.
BadmunkyWRX what kind of a roof rack is that??
Put the teraflex shackles on the back and you you'll get even more... also run 33s
