A competitive fully electric Honda is finally here! Even though Honda got some help from GM with the platform, was it a smart decision or a risk that could hurt their reputation for reliability? Keep in mind, an EV built on Honda's own dedicated electric architecture is coming in 2026.
I think given what you have said in your conclusion about liking the feel and size of the vehicle and that it does seem their engineers have tweaked the vehicle to have their more sporty driving experience, it is possibly a worthy risk to do something now than get even more behind and seen as more and more irrelevant. As long as they figure out the major screen issues (lock-ups) before they do the final release/sales.

Absolutely amazing! I am most likely buying the Prologue if they get 7500 tax credit. Love new GM infotainment, love Bose audio, love long range, love Honda design, love actual leather seats unlike rubber seats in Cadillac Lyriq. Love front wheel drive option.
Sedans are not profitable. Genesis almost failed because they introduced only expensive sedans, while people prefer to overspend on crossovers. In reality we need EV wagons, but older generation made wagons look boring, so they overspend on lifted wagons called SUVs. Car makers also made sedans uncomfortable, seats too low, roofs too low, interior too small, so in many ways customers were forced into crossovers.
I was sitting in my Tesla at the charging station in Buford, ga and saw one of these pulling out of Costco two months ago and had no idea what it was but loved the look.
If the platform proves to be good as people actually buy these evs, this vehicle is awesome. The design is significantly nicer than the blazer imo, and it still has a unique interior and driving experience Edit: when you said ok google it triggered mine
The honda logo has never really changed that much. They added the box around the H some time in the 80s, but the H symbol at its core has barely changed at all, beyond a few minor adjustments to its proportions.
Be fair, he did say at that point that this is a pre-production vehicle. Still, that does concern me to if they plan to go wide with the car in March. I always smile these days when I see Sofyan opening his arms to the cars he reviews in the review photo. It reminds of what the brothers from Car Confections used to do often. Imitation is definitely a form of flattery.
Exactly, it’s like he’s suddenly complaining or sad about it being the *gm* bong, but he’s given them props for finally updating it in other reviews. It’s like everyone has this notion to make Honda look like the superior corporation as they undergo this collaboration. Let me go listen to the Honda bong to hear what all of the noise is about. 🙄
I don’t think Sofyan grew up with a big old fashioned H body Oldsmobile door dinger sounding when the low fuel light went on. I speak from experience as you can tell.
Thanks for the review. I like the exterior look of this Prologue and it doesnt show any GM on it. Honda should take note that a lot of EV owners love the “frunk” feature and hopefully in the futre iteration of prologue it will be considered. I am really not a fan of small interior space of model Y and I think this Honda will compete more to MachE and Ioniq.
Thanks Sofyan! Always the best car reviewer. Not too nerdy like Out of Spec reviews lol. This car is a nice option i might trade my Polestar 2, mainly due to the size. But i wish it had a bigger battery pack so it could go beyond 300 miles of range
@@jmckey because Honda always has this feature, and since this is GM product, I am sure whether it has such feature or not, I watched another video and saw that it doesn’t even have sensor behind the door handle, so you have to press a button to unlock.

Finally super fast charging is kind if a myth 150 is perfectly fine. Virtually all vehicles that can chrge faster than 150, require all the stars to be in alignment low battery (but not too low) right temperature (not too cold and not too hot), a charger willing and able to provide you the juice, and so on. After 2 years with an EV that can charge at 200 plus, I can count in one hand how many times I have been succesful at charging at 200 or more, 150 however is more than doable most of the time. Finally, even when you do get that high charge level the average from 10 to 80% is going to be 160 or less so in the deep charges that you do on a road trip the difference in time is about 5 minutes tops. In Europe where distances are short you can use that quick 100 mile jolt much better than in the US where road trips are much, much longer.
Yes! I just test drove new Prologue Touring AWD along with new CRV, HRV and Pilot. Prologue is the best vehicle Honda currently sells and it happens to be made by GM. Bose audio is a bit bland, my old CT6 stock Bose sounds way better. But considering discounts, features, interior space, acceleration, battery range - this is the best EV on the market.
The 2024 Honda Prologue Elite looks fantastic! Its sleek design and attention to detail really set it apart in the EV market. Honda's focus on combining style with practicality is evident, making it an appealing choice for anyone looking to transition to electric. I'm particularly impressed with the ample range and advanced features that make it both a smart and stylish option. Can't wait to see how it performs on the road!"
Sat in that same spec Prologue that’s on the thumbnail photo at the Honda Cars, Bikes, and Coffee event and the interior doesn’t feel cheap for a pre-production car
Thank you to Redline once again for breaking down a new car brand model. I'm not going to lie, I've been behind on a ton of car reviews from everyone I follow. Hoping to catch up. So far, this looks like a nice installment from Honda/GM, not so sure about the price, though, doesn't scream affordable from base alone with features like AWD not standard.
What’s up with the delay in actually test driving 2024 Acura ZDX Type-S on your UA-cam channels, can be attributed to the meticulous process involved in conducting thorough and comprehensive test drives of new vehicles.
This brown leather looks amazing! I wish the middle portions of the seats were also brown instead of black nut this tow-tone combo looks better in this video than it does on the Honda website
The exterior actually looks great but the interior looks messy with both screen instead of a one big screen connecting and all the buttons underneath. That entertainment system interface looks awful too.
Then get a CRV Hybrid. It’s $15-20k cheaper, more space inside for people and cargo, has close to the same power, can go 2x the distance this can, and is 100% Honda made.
@@jessethompson9087 so wrong 🤣 I actually just test drove CRV Sport Touring Hybrid. It is horrible! It drives heavy and rough, like an old Toyota. It is cheap inside, steering has nothing sporty like older Hondas used to feel. But the worst thing in new CRV is infotainment - it is a tiny pixelated screen straight from 1995, reminds me on Windows 3.11. But there is more - stealerships also add 4-5k of extras, so these CRVs are around 45k total. New Prologue will be a huge improvement over current CRV, just the new modern infotainment alone is worth it.
On the issue of finding-a-charger anxiety, I wonder how viable a solar cell charger would be for emergency charging for a car stranded on the road? It might take hours to capture enough energy, but it would offer a last resort to a stranded vehicle. I just can't imagine being stuck in a middle of a western US state tens or hundreds of miles from a services stop and having no way to recharge without a charging station.
My VW e-Golf infotainment screen is great in every situation except with Apple Car Play. I use Android Auto for my personal phone, and its fine, even with the MA1 wireless adaptor, but if I connect my company iPhone, Car Play frequently crashes out. Definitely not a vehicle manufacturer issue....
Honda has sold badge-engineered versions of other carmakers in the past. The Isuzu Trooper sold as Acura SLX ( roughly 1996 to 1999?) and the Isuzu Rodeo sold as the Honda Passport (around 1993 to 2018?) come to mind. As far as this GM version, though, I've seen news reports of Chevrolet putting a Stop-Sale order for all Blazer EV's due to terrible software issues. (Maybe Sofyan's example of the screen locking up wasn't just due to it being a pre-production model.) Although I like the looks/style of this vehicle, if I were considering this Honda Prologue, if the software is shared with GM, I would probably wait a while to make sure GM successfully sorts out those software problems.
Funny that the infotainment screen froze during the review. That was one of the reasons why there was a stop sale on the Chevy Ev. They only recently resumed sales and have dropped the price as well. There is some reliable information out there on what Honda engineers really thought about this collaboration that has since been discontinued. It's a chevy not a Honda and it is overpriced. Remember the rebadged Isuzu Rodeo disguised as a Passport? This is a stop gap car. Oh wait, a collaboration to achieve the economies scale of platform sharing. Translation? We are going to put a Honda badge on it and hope nobody notices all the GM parts. appreciate the objective review. It makes your reviews more credible. I've owned 7 Honda vehicles, but since the new Accord I'm a bit disenchanted with the Honda lineup. Hard pass.
They should have pushed for that small Honda e car that was a car I was looking forward to seeing in person the laws on some things just don’t make sense.
If Honda rebadged a GM vehicle ten years ago, I’d say they’re stupid and ruining their reputation. But GM has made some big strides in both quality and reliability, which is great. I think this was a smart collaboration
If this car is reliable it will do well. It is the most normal EV out there which sets it apart. Normal switchgear and nothing missing. I’d consider one once early adopters have taken the risk and once it has an NACS connector. When I saw the early prototypes I thought it was too bland, but it’s grown on me. That back seat seems pretty compromised for tall adults, so maybe that’s why the Blazer has no sunroof. I’d take the compromise as most of the competitors’s don’t have sunroofs that open. Over all I’d say Honda took the GM parts and made a better EV because they didn’t do anything dumb. No stupid elaborate charge port that’s slow and seems like it will break. You also get CarPlay. I really like that blue too. So the horsepower and charging are just okay, and the styling is a bit bland. Probably not dealbreakers for most people.
Perhaps like a gold/Copper/rainbow mental rim around the Honda steering wheel badge or add some thing to the black background, sparkles. Something "ooh la la" 😂
The *gm* hate train is expected at this point especially with them being this present in every segment now. If you look back just 10 years ago, you’ll realize how much ground they have recovered. Honda had to rely on *gm* to build their EVs because they know that they cannot compete with General Motors head to head and alone. So if you can’t beat them…well you know the rest. It’s again, *expected* but funny to watch people hate these cars and criticize *gm* about the collaboration for whatever they think they can find and somehow praise Honda for the same exact product.
@@CalvinHikes so what? They should be always cancelled now? GM did improve big time. I owned 3 Hondas and 2 Acuras and now I love my new-ish GM car. I dislike everything Honda currently sells. Both Prologue and ZDX offer a huge step forward for Honda - amazing modern infotainment, newest battery tech, great range, good price vs competition.
@@CalvinHikes Some of your favorite stars and your favorite cousins have also filed for bankruptcy but you’re not forming hate trains for them. As far as the product goes *gm* has improved everywhere they could improve and their product speaks for itself. I was talking to the adults when i posted this.
@@Aki_Lesbrinco I understand this but that would mean Honda fans should be grilling Honda for their laziness and not *gm* for handing them an award winning fully electric platform.
Thanks for the review. I like the interior. All I have in my driveway are Hondas.. 4 of them. Great reliable cars. But the interiors are quite Meh.. even the newest models. Waiting for Honda to get with the interior styling on par with the Korean and many US cars. Or I could buy an Acura I guess..or this GM Honda vehicle. It took GM to force Hondas hand at interior styling? I like the look of the car here. Those buying this might not be in the market for a Tesla I think. But I am in the market for a Tesla. Several years in I'd like to buy this though, used and cheaper.. hopefully it will have some charging station partners too. ✌️
I hate collab vehicles. Tells me that manufacturers have become lazy, and the brand is going downhill. If i wanted a GM product i would have gone to GM. Its like kids putting a Type R badge on a Corolla, or TRD badge on a Civic.
Yeah Honda it’s kind of a shame that you guys didn’t develop your own platform. Like the chime tho yall couldn’t even be bothered to use your own Honda chime. Total shame 😬
I like the look of this but if I were in the market for an EV in this segment I would choose the Nissan Ariya. I trust Nissan more than I do GM when it comes to any vehicle.
Interior seems a let-down for $60k. For instance, I expected the infotainment to have better graphics and processing power, given it'll be frequently interacted with. Would've been great had the Accord's software and UI/UX been implemented instead.
He mentions towards the end that Honda is working with the US Govt to try to get the full $7500 credit at POS (point of sale). I think it's literally in the last 2 mins.
I’m indifferent to every Honda collaboration to date: The Saturn Vue All-wheel-drive V6, Passport, SLX, ZDX, and now Pr😂logue. Aww heck, throw the Sterling built Legend(not Acura Legend) and the original Clarity in there too! 😣 🤷🏾♂️

If Honda rebadged a GM vehicle ten years ago, I’d say they’re stupid and ruining their reputation. But GM has made some big strides in both quality and reliability, which is great. I think this was a smart collaboration
The only thing more handsomely styled than the 2024 Honda Prologue Elite is Sofyan!
Why would you say OK GOOGLE in your video, HAHA... great review...
They earned the hate through bankruptcy, or reliability and ecades of inferior quality.
I don't think it's more that people expect an actual Honda, instead of a rebadge GM.
@@Aki_Lesbrinco I understand this but that would mean Honda fans should be grilling Honda for their laziness and not *gm* for handing them an award winning fully electric platform.
Wireless carplay is too glitchy, mine froze a lot never happened again after using wired.
Seeing an onstar buttom on the rear view mirror with a honda emblem on the steering wheel was messing with my mind 🥴🥴
If Honda ever does Passport hybrid with a non-interference engine, that will be a total game changer.
Awesome shoes! Are those converse?
OMG, the price!! How can anyone afford these vehicles?
Why the hell would you put a 275 tire on a EV. 18 inch wheels with a 235 Max. This isn't about efficiency anymore this is about status.
Not a Honda! If your remember the first gen Honda Passport/Isuzu Rodeo you would wait
this car seem like an after thought. rushed and put together just so Honda can have an electric car. They should have just waited
Frunks usually seem to be briefcase size, so why do they matter? they look like a good spot for charging cables, but not a great deal more.
This ain't nuthin but GM in Honda drag.
up to
I hate collab vehicles. Tells me that manufacturers have become lazy, and the brand is going downhill. If i wanted a GM product i would have gone to GM. Its like kids putting a Type R badge on a Corolla, or TRD badge on a Civic.
Thanks for the excellent, complete, and informative review. However, I will wait for the real Honda in 2026.
Is it a Honda or GM @1:54 he said it is a general motor package
Since it shares some GM features, I wonder if it comes with all of GM's recalls?
Yeah Honda it’s kind of a shame that you guys didn’t develop your own platform. Like the chime tho yall couldn’t even be bothered to use your own Honda chime. Total shame 😬
I like your jacket, where did you get it from?
The GM key with a Honda logo is something might be cool on other Honda models. Not a fan of anything else here.
I like the look of this but if I were in the market for an EV in this segment I would choose the Nissan Ariya. I trust Nissan more than I do GM when it comes to any vehicle.
You keep saying Honda and GM. Aside from the screen what else is GM engineered? This would really impact who buys this
I like it, but can we stop calling wagons, SUVs?
Interior seems a let-down for $60k. For instance, I expected the infotainment to have better graphics and processing power, given it'll be frequently interacted with. Would've been great had the Accord's software and UI/UX been implemented instead.
Nice car, if it was released 10 years ago.
With all the GM is this going to qualify for the $7500?
He mentions towards the end that Honda is working with the US Govt to try to get the full $7500 credit at POS (point of sale). I think it's literally in the last 2 mins.
Yes.
It should qualify because the Lyriq and Blazer both will qualify. They’re built here in America and enough parts are made here as well.
Nice GM Honda in Rivian Blue! Lol
Hey Norm, is this finally the Honda you'd buy? Lol
Looks like a range rover from the back
I’m indifferent to every Honda collaboration to date: The Saturn Vue All-wheel-drive V6, Passport, SLX, ZDX, and now Pr😂logue. Aww heck, throw the Sterling built Legend(not Acura Legend) and the original Clarity in there too! 😣 🤷🏾♂️
Those two screens look really bad next to each other with the thick bezel.
6:15 not sure Honda can out-do this ugliest wheel, but they can try.
Maybe. I'm considering the BMW as well.
Let's Go electric will take over every brand.
