CO'OPS ARE VERY COMMON IN THE UPPER MID WEST. WE HAVE GROCERIY STORES, BANKS, GAS STATIONS, FARMER SUPPLY STORES, ELECTRIC SERVICE, GRAIN ELEVATORS, ETC. THESE HAVE BEEN IN EXISTENCE FOR APP 100 YEARS. AN OLD RURAL CONCEPT NOW DOING SERVICE IN URBAN AREAS. GREAT CCONCEPT. GOOD LUCK ON YOUR ENDEAVOR.
King Cole has been providing fullservice groceries , fresh and fairly priced, just up the street , for decades ! I Shop there regularly and will keep doing so. They have been very patient with the area. There was no "food desert " here !
I hear you on King Cole. It's been there for 50+ years. But their meat has been questionable for some time too. Not that the Co-op offers full meat services. Glad to see other options especially if you want organic. I shop all around including varied Bangladesh markets in Hamtramck that beat the prices of 'EVA-BODY' if you can manage non organic veggies. I'll shop the new co-op for a few things but already I see their prices are high for my income (wrecked by this economy).
@@Zacharias3Thanks so much for your response. As a resident of the neighborhood (easy walk to this store) for over 5 years I do try to shop around at all the places. Maybe my individual purchases dont make a major difference but cumulatively all of ours might. And, at least, when one of these places goes out of business as they so often do , we arent saying " Gee Guess I shoulda gone around there and spent some money". I just want to do my part, since we are all I hope trying to fight misinformation, that the area was most certainly not a " food desert". That's false. And it ignores Aldi's and King Cole's long committments to North Woodwardland. Sure , not at Aldi but at an older building like King Cole, we look carefully because their refrigeration is older. I look all over town, closely. First of all, the Health Dept inspections are so much better now. Second, they will sell stuff on the date etc but they mark that very clearly and usually with a red discount sticker. " They aint hidin nothin". And as you pointed out , the new " Co-Op" 2:57
Well in New York for sure it would be a fast-turn problem and even Whole Foods had to give up and close one of their stores in Cali. where crime pays and PAYS! Like in NY!
Hope the shoplifters don’t drive it into the ground. They are everywhere and don’t care that they are taking jobs and stores away from their own communities.
Tell it to Duke Energy, Nike , Fed Ex and the hundreds of other corporations that make billions per year and get away with not paying ANY TAXES, or Amazon who got HUGE Tax breaks and other concessions just to move to a new location and still pay zero in taxes..corporate welfare is everywhere but you have no problem with that....remember AIG....that is an outrage

It'll shut down because of theft
❤❤❤ awesome news. When people work together for good things. ❤❤
How long will it be before the customers steal from the store and it closes?
