I don't know if you take recommendations, but I really recommend you checking Jorgen Dahl Moe who is on the voice Norway. His voice is one of a kind! His blind audition and knockout are ridiculous! It's a gentle but extremely powerful voice!
I think they cut it from the movie because it would have been the only "unjustified" musical number, breaking the fourth wall. All the musical numbers in the movie are either related to the Tick Tick Boom stage musical, the Superbia workshop or happening in Larson mind. This would have been the only typical musical scene in which they begin to sing knowing the words and dancing knowing the moves without reason. Instead, they chose to use "Green green dress" as a song on the radio while they sleep together after the party.
I think it’s of course a great scene and Performance, but also think to cut it out of the Movie was the absolutely right decision. Hearing Alexandra Shipp first singing in Come To Your Senses was such a powerful and emotional Moment of the Movie. I‘m pretty sure this would not had the same heavy impact if they decided to let „Green Dress“ scene in the Movie.
can we talk about alexandras “i’ll do anything you say!” she sounded so amazing right there i cannot get over it. she is fantastic. they both need more recognition for their talent
Great video as always! Can't believe he didn't win the Oscar (so sad about it) and than TTB era is basically over. I cannot wait for your "Sunday" and "Johnny Can't decide" videos, it will truly mark the end of an era :(
Based on how sensational he was in "tick, tick...BOOM", he should have won. At least I have no doubt about it. Unfortunately, the Academy decided to give the award this year for career effort, not really for the performance in a recent film (not for the first time, and not for the last time).
Comparing the versions from the movie and the ones from the official soundtrack, I believe they polished it for the soundtrack, though I'm not sure if the actors sang it live on the movie or if it's simply a different recording. The biggest difference, I believe, it's on the song "Why", because on the movie Andrew was crying and on the soundtrack recording, although he still sounds very emotional, he hits the notes more precisely because there's no actual crying involved. Since they didn't add this one to the movie, I think they just used the studio\more polished version of the song.
"Why" was performed live in the movie. They had a prerecorded version (the one that we hear in the official soundtrack), but it was too clean, and not expressive enough to fit the emotional climax of the story. "Boho Days" was also sung live in the film.
Supposedly, the choreography wasn’t done for this song yet, so they chose to cut the song. I’ve seen a bunch of different opinions on whether or not this song should’ve been in the movie, but one opinion I do want to bring up is the interesting point that until she sang in Come to Your Senses, Vanessa Hudgen’s character was doing all the singing bits that referred to Susan. Not having Susan sing until CtYS does make the oomph of the song better, but at the same time- like you mentioned- this song does showcase their relationship better. I can only imagine that it was a difficult choice to cut it.
If you’re now a fan of Andrew Garfield, I recommend a movie called Silence (2016). It’s nothing like Tick Tick Boom and it very much tests your patience at times, but his performance (as well as Adam Driver and Liam Neeson and just everyone) is incredible and, if you stick with it, it’ll be beyond satisfying by the end.
I really love Silence. Great movie and amazing performance by Andrew. How he didn't get an Oscar nomination for it is something I will never understand.
I personally feel like Susan doesn't soften her vocals at the end when Jonathan did because she's the one in control of the moment. She takes off her coat and he just 'melts'. She's got the sensual power over him. I could be entirely wrong, but that's how it reads to me anyway.
I wish this was still in the film. It gives so much more to their relationship… which I kinda felt missing. I loved the movie but I needed to believe their love more and this gave exactly what I was missing
might sound different because some songs (why and boho days that i'm possitive about) were song live on set and the vocals in the movie are live meaning they didn't replace it with the prerecorded version...and then in the movie i think they mixed the sound to make it sound live i especially hear this in 30/90 like it actually sounds like it's coming from the room even if it was the pre-recorded song in the final cut so they definitely made sure to make the songs in the movie sound more raw even if they weren't but for this deleted scene they didn't finish sound mixing or even the cgi in the background so they probably just put the soundtrack recording along with the recorded adlibs in the actual scene (susan laughing) for this deleted scene
Lin talked about how he loved this song and loved the sequence but it just took away from the flow of the movie a bit and when it was gone he didn't miss it.
They clearly filmed the scene, so they had clearly thought about including it, since a bonus track song they wouldn't waste spending so much money to have a filmed scene
I like what they did with the song in the movie. It’s was clever to make it an R&B cover for that lil love making scene. Nice Easter egg, cuz this would have been corny
It would have been great if they kept it in the movie. This song is so catchy and the choreography is also beautiful, even if it is “unfinished” as they claim 🤷🏻♀️ PS. There’s one more song left 😊 🥺🙏🏻
I hate to be this guy really because Andrew sounds great all through but responding to 3:55 he's not singing "yeah" he's singing "green" so I think that's why the pronunciation is different.
🙏🙏🙏😍😍Please can you react to Anitta her song Boys Don't Cry it would be a good option because it is in English. She is Brazilian and sings in Portuguese Spanish English Italian and French. A while ago she performed that song (Boys Don't Cry) on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon in case you want to hear it live and her other song "Envolver" was top 1 on spotify overall this week. pleaseeee react to Anitta 😭😭😭

That‘s so thoughtful of them I love it
Песня была слишком хороша, чтобы её убирать из мьюзикла.))
but then "no more" would also be "unjustified"
@@isabelle8940 That gave me the vibe of something that Johnny imagined, more than something happening for real. Same as Sunday!

It didn’t advance the story. Definitely the right decision. Still cool. Hope it makes it to the DVD.

God I love Jonathan Larson's music. This song really has that RENT sound to it.

They wasn't done full CG effect not choreography for this.

@@nbarrio because it was the same year as Hacksaw Ridge and Hacksaw Ridge campaigned harder.
Also I don’t know if you noticed, the piano piece is the same motif from Come to Your Senses
His voice coach was the great Liz Caplan!

I’m so grateful they included this in deleted scenes
I wish this was still in the film. It gives so much more to their relationship… which I kinda felt missing. I loved the movie but I needed to believe their love more and this gave exactly what I was missing
Very sad the scene was deleted😂 this scene is very good, and the song

I love this song so much. It's honestly my favorite song from Tick Tick Boom mainly because of the beat and lyrics
Thank you so much for all the tick tick boom content 😊 it's my fav movie of 2021
not me being a little bit sad she missed his "OW!" at 3:32
Lin talked about how he loved this song and loved the sequence but it just took away from the flow of the movie a bit and when it was gone he didn't miss it.
Actually this song is from the bonus track, it’s not actually in the movie
They clearly filmed the scene, so they had clearly thought about including it, since a bonus track song they wouldn't waste spending so much money to have a filmed scene
I like this song and it was a great reaction. You are wonderful 🥰

Jonny Can’t Decide please if you haven’t!!! Favorite song

I hate to be this guy really because Andrew sounds great all through but responding to 3:55 he's not singing "yeah" he's singing "green" so I think that's why the pronunciation is different.

See this song felt too jaunty compared to the others. I'm glad it was deleted. It changes the tone of the scene overall to less serious.
