I was broke that summer and my friend invited me to this game last minute , sec 131 row 25 seat 6 , it was the only game I went to that year . Fast forward 15 years I have WS Buehrle license plates that caught the attention of my MSLB teammate who happens to be good friends with him , last week Mark , his wife and 2 kids came out to watch our game and stayed for a team picture with us .he looks as healthy as ever and boy what a class act hanging out and taking with me about that magical day .
As a Cardinals fan growing up in Chicago during this time, I loved to watch those 2000s Sox teams. Watched this game nearly from the beginning. And Buehrle is a St. Louis native. Was awesome to watch.
Thank you for sharing this. So nostalgic. I believe Tampas offense was second best in the league when Buehrle threw this perfect game. The Rays finished the season 6th in homers 6th in R/G and 7th in RBI. They were a juggernaut on offense and Buerhle put on a clinic. It makes this perfect game even more impressive when you realize just how good the Rays were on offense that year.
lordjadus-Yeah, but he hit the second Cleveland batter in the ninth inning in the back foot, resulting in the Tribe's only baserunner. He (Rodon) still got the no hitter, though.
@kevinmiller6380 Although the Guardians are my favorite team, I was a little disappointed for Rodon when Perez got hit. I also remember seeing Armando Galaragga's 1-hit perfect game on Sports Time Ohio. If they had replay back then, it would've been a 1-0 perfect game. Instead, it was a 3-0 1 hit shutout. I might strongly dislike the Tigers, but I'm starting to feel bad for him although he said he was happy with his performance. I believe he was thinking, "Either way, I still feel like this was the best game of my career," when Jason Donald was called safe by Jim Joyce who decided to call the balls and strikes the very next day. What did Matt Underwood and Rick Manning say after Gallaraga's shutout again? I know that Matt said that Leyland was all over Joyce when he starting cursing him out, but I don't remember what else he and Rick said after the game. What makes that even more heartbreaking was that Joyce was heartbroken.
As a Dodger fan, why did we get the bad reliever named Josh Fields instead of the slugger who slammed at 30:54 for some useless guy (according to the Dodgers FO) named Yordan Alvarez? 😓😓
Mark would have been a huge fan of the pitch clock
He would have
hes one of the few who doesn't even need it lol, he had an internal pitch clock 😆
God Dewayne Wise you’re an absolute beauty what a play man

Funny how many times Buehrle would already be in his windup when the camera would try to show close-ups of the batters with their stats overlayed.
Buehrle did one of the hardest things, skip to for the final out. 1:37:20
However, you can put Hawk celebrating on the board when you skip to: 30:54
Quite a contrast. Buerhle takes about 5 seconds in between pitches and Kazmir takes forever. Buerhle beautiful to watch.
This was the perfect perfect game.
1:29:20 god I love this call
How good was the Hawk that day
Yes, he was certainly at his entertaining best that day … start to finish. He and Stone were excellent partners.
He was incredible so many times. Hawk enhanced the game so much.
White Sox fans got a treat, that day.⚾️
Carlos Rodon almost had one a couple years ago.

And after Buehrle threw his perfect game, he went into a tailspin, winning only two games the rest of the season.
And the thing that most people forget about this is that in his next start, he was perfect through 6.
