Two of my four children have Duplication 15q 13.1 Syndrome. They are both males. My youngest was diagnosed around 10 or 11 years old and then they tested the whole family and that’s when we found out our oldest who was around 16 also had it. They are both adults now. The oldest is 30 and is finally living alone with a girlfriend. My youngest is 24 and still lives with me and probably will until I can’t take care of him. The youngest also has microcephaly and mild cerebral palsy. They diagnosed him with having moderate classical Autism with high functioning IQ. The oldest has PDD-NOS with severe learning disabilities. My other two children are another boy(age 28) and a girl(age 26). This male has ADHD and OCD. My daughter is listed as gifted. She is getting married this weekend and then graduating medical school two weeks from now.
Life was a struggle for my youngest the first four years of his life. He was critically ill and wasn’t expected to live pass five years. But he was a fighter and made it.
Just do what you know is right for your child and never give up. Your family will be in my prayers.

I hate dup 15 q. All infants should be given a gene test, this is horrible.
