@@TheChadTI Yeah. His point of view as to how someone should approach songwriting reflects that. When I bought Crimson Idol I was skeptical. I was born in 1987, so any metal band from as well as before the eighties that had 90’s stuff is always a gamble for me. This is all based on the documentaries I’ve seen. Magazines I’ve read. Yeah. So I was pleasantly surprised to hear a band this cool, remain awesome.
Absolutely awesome!!!! W.A.S.P. rules..Totally awesome!! I have been a serious W.A.S.P. fanatic all of my life! I bought the first self titled album when I was 12 in 1984. I absolutely loved it. I've been addicted to their sound every since. I had started as a metalhead with KISS, Black Sabbath, and Ozzy at 8 years old in 1980. My parents had a pretty nice stereo they never used and I had older friends and an uncle who both began supplying me with albums and cassettes. I started buying every rock magazine at the local grocery store. In those wicked days, there would be about 4 or 5 different heavy metal rock magazines on the shelf at the same time. It was such a great time collecting them all!!! Recently, in 2020, I rebought the entire W.A.S.P. discography on CD, studio albums, live albums, and 2 versions of the Live At The Lyceum video, the original VHS and an uncut DVD version!!
Blackie is totally right about HONESTY! It is what creates the strong bond between artist and fan... never thought about it that way. Blackie is a total Legend!
Honesty; something he needs to practice with regard to former band members. Last I heard, those who are listed as "session players" usually don't receive royalty checks that are due them, and it really sucks, considering that they helped write a bunch of the songs the band plays...
Great to hear Blackie, a very very clever guy. I was friends with a WASP roadie who stationed me at the dressing room door during the Blood Drive shows. Before long I was part of the handful of WASP army (it was run like a military operation) and insanely surreal to this naive kid. By participating in the Blood Drive I am in a few group pics- wearing a Van Halen logo shirt which pissed Blackie off lol. Lost track of them once the tours began but I have 2 different album demo sessions which,-are-amazing. Will not post so just you wait for the 40th box set. You will not be disappointed.
In addition to WASP music, I also love Blackie's interviews. Looking forward to the suff he's coming out with especially those early demos. Thank you for posting this.
I'm so happy blackie and the guys are coming back it's a dream of mine too see him he is so talented I love him I've missed him for years I'm so exited he is coming back too the USA I love his style and he is so sexy love his voice love you always blackie wish I could have called blackie would have been a dream come true
Got to meet Blackie here in Portland, Maine. The opening band blew the entire PA system so W.A.S.P. had to cancel. They refunded are $ and whoever stuck around we made a line outside and one at a time we went to his bus and met him. He was sitting in the driver's seat and signed my sealed copy of Animal. He was really surprised it wasn't opened. He also signed my Wild Child double 45. I took a picture, shook his hand, went home (right across the bridge maybe 20 minutes round trip) and got a couple more things for him to sign. He was super friendly and very tall. Great experience. Funny thing is the flyer for the show was stapled to a telephone pole out front of a Christian school. Seen them a few years before that in Sanford. Place was a fucking madhouse. Ceiling was about ten feet high, Chris stabbing it with his guitar headstock. People slipping on the wet floor, fights for the skull Blackie threw out, fold out tables on their sides for a barricade. Awesome times.
Dayton OH I will see you there!!! Been a W.A.S.P. listener since high-school thanks to my teacher and a buddy fucking love their songs and great albums.
Great interview and Awesome news that W.A.S.P. is on tour in 2022! Unite Hellions and Wild Childs!! Just the fact that W.A.S.P. will be on tour has made my day! W.A.S.P. catalog is vast so I'm excited for whatever playlist they have in mind. hint (Unholy Terror) hint... \m/ AlbuThrashy - October 31! Can't wait! \m/
Thanks my friend! Enjoy Peter and a lot of interesting things are waiting for us!!! Very cool interview! We believe in the best!!! PS For me, box set, where there will be demos is the most important thing!!!
Great interview. Been waiting for years. Glad Blackie and the band is ready to attack the USA. Been a fan since i bought a cassette of THE LAST COMMAND. As much as i love the early material...I think the more recent albums are just as great. Golgotha is one of my favorite WASP albums. Glad to see him back out in 2022.
Excellent interview. Great to hear about the impending tour. Hopefully there's some Canadian dates. Would love to see what's changed since I last saw the band.
Thanks for uploading this Interview. Blackie is the most intelligent, interesting and wise musician. Awesome that WASP is doing a USA Tour.......Drum set on Bale's of Hay....... W😲W🙏🆒🆒🆒🆒🆒
Me too...they"re not playing San Diego so I'm driving up the road for this show...NO WAY I'm missing them...seen them a number of times but last one was the 2009 Babylon tour......it's on!! :-)
Thank you so much for sharing this as I don't have access to Sirius! I am over the moon that they're coming close to me. It'll make a perfect early Christmas gift to myself.
I hope they come to Indy or Louisville!! I saw the Last Command concert back in the day in Indy. It was awesome. All their heads were on stakes! It ruled!!
Thanks for posting. Just hope the "ongoing situation" dosent lead to eurapean cancellations. where I am venues are still closed. Awaiting a government announced soon. So hoping for good news re march dates.
So great to hear this interview with Eddie & Blackie. It's been a long time and I definitely feel my age after listening. I am 55 and have been a fan of W.A.S.P. since 1983 when I was 17 with long hair and a bad attitude. I am anxiously awaiting a new album from this "Metal God". As the tour this Fall will be limited, I will probably not be able to make any of the shows as I live in a little town in South Carolina and my resources are limited. But I am stoked that Blackie will be once again bringing his passion ( and life's story) back to the stage here in the great U.S.A. HAIL 🤘🤘🤘
Loved the interview! I’m one of the fans that wants to see whatever the newest album is live. We have seen live and watched live on UA-cam all the past history stuff. Now I still would like to see some of the old stuff but it sucks to go see a band…ok,TOOL…who put out a phenomenal album in 2019…only do 2-3 songs off that album live..and then the same set list that they’ve been doing for the last 10 years! Good Luck on the tour hope to get a chance to catch it…specifically those Texas dates! I’m in Virginia but I’m always up for a nice trip when there’s a killer concert involved! Be safe out there!
It’s one thing if wasp toured constantly in the US but they havnt played in America in years. So honestly the fans Wanna see the classics especially since that material has been ignored a lot in his recent set lists. I hate when iron maiden plays their horrible new albums of boring 10 plus minute songs leaving only enough room for two songs that people really wanna hear

Blackie really has no idea how much his band is still loved in the US. Not just by old fans but younger fans like myself and many others.
They never wavered or went alt or grunge when MANY of their peers did.
