    "The Sluice" is Floyd Hill's new mountain bike, downhill only trail. The trail is full of features, alternative lines, jumps, rocks, tech, and flow. The variety of ways to come down this trail is mind boggling. Just be prepared for crashes though. On this day three people, myself included, hit dirt/rocks hard. Take care on this one... It is rated black diamond/double black diamond for a reason!

    I really appreciate the speed indicator. I wish more folks would do this. Particularly for drops so I gauge when I try to jump off of it. Haha

    • @Roaming50
      @Roaming50  3 роки тому

      I like that the gauges give some context of what is going on. Video alone can make it look flatter/easier than it really is.

      @@Roaming50 for sure. The steepness near the end of that trail really isn't caught on camera.

    Ringing endorsement for a full-face helmet. Really enjoyed this video. Love the Garmin graphics and details and just all the explanations of the various features on this trail. Plus, it's great to see this from a non-expert, slightly older rider's perspective. Thanks for your time and energy in producing this nice video.

      But there’s so many riders better than me! I guess UA-cam can give unrealistic expectations of shred worthiness. 😆

    Love it! Thanks for bringing us through the downhill, and not as a "Hotshot". Love the real man's view. And you definitely don't suck. I didn't think I'd watch the entire 17 minutes, but I certainly did.

      Jay Irwin Thanks. I can’t do hotshot anymore. Lol.

    Ugh, the 'jump' at 3:45 cost me a collarbone and a ski season. I love the trail and had ridden it three previous times this summer, but I finally had the confidence to take it at full speed and was unwittingly sent into the a-line with no out. Oh well. I'll stick it next summer :D

    I am embarrassed having watched this video, lol. No, i am just kidding it is actually very nice seeing a video like yours. Mountain biking is about having fun, not showing off. Nice video, thanks for sharing.

      There was a big drop line I totally missed. It will take several sessions to learn it all.

    Fun video - you'll get a lot of negative comments. Screw the haters... but also, think about flow (water)... stay loose, and remember "brakes are never your friend... momentum is"... enjoy the ride!

    • @Roaming50
      @Roaming50  5 років тому

      Yeah I know. Though I don’t like going too fast into things I’ve never ridden before. Next time!!

      Another good video Kerry. @DHPoser, "brakes are never your friend" True on that, but the problem I have is I'll carry good speed and clean a tough feature then crash afterwards on something simple because of that speed. Spectators be like "Oh nice.... oooooo.... ouch, wtf? you okay?" LOL

    • @Roaming50
      @Roaming50  5 років тому

      Chris D I can relate to that! It’s usually the small stuff that gets me; the stuff I don’t pay attention to.
