Anyone who doesn't get a 5th gen 4Runner before they're gone is going to regret it. A turbo 4cyl hybrid will never be as reliable as an NA V6, especially the one in the 5th gens. That engine has been proven for decades to be one of the most reliable engines ever made. I can only imagine most 5th gen owners will see their trucks go up in value over the next few years, especially if you were able to get a higher trim level 23 or 24.

Round headlights all the way!! The rectangular ones--as configured on the LC--look way too "digital age," on a vehicle that is supposed to invoke a more retro-rugged theme. I'm probably in the minority but I don't like the FJ-inspired mirror proportions. My main gripe is the hump up in the back cargo area because of the hybrid configuration / battery, compromising the utility and versatility of that space especially as a camper.

If this was 40k....
if this was 40k it would be a hyundai santa fe. reality hits hard my friend.
I like the retro look. And with the hybrid drive train, I am curious to see how high the fuel economy can be pushed, for a traditional style SUV.
i like the cloth seats , gives me !st gen vibes, very nostalgic.
I wish my 2023 Tacoma TRD OR had a light headliner, since it’s an Access Cab it would make the cabin feel brighter.
Same transmission as the new tacoma, which has overheating issues. Ill wait a bit before i make the switch
I bought one, 1958 in white and it is awesome.
I ❤ the cloth in the 1958! I checked one out at my dealership Auburn Toyota a few weeks ago...same with me, buyer backed out
It has been 11 days. Are they mating the truck with another and this is the gestation period?
I'm with you this is only Newer Toyota I would buy. I of course have a 23 Trd Pro 4runner so I'm good on the 5th Gen!😂
You should watch The Car Care Nut's review on the Land Cruiser. He goes in depth on it and shows whats a good design and what is not. I'd say people just jump to conclusions that the reliability will be bad simply because it has a turbo.
I really like its retro interior design, and just the simple fact that it’s made in Japan it gives It some sort of prestige
Why does one model have round headlights and the other a more rectangular set of lights? Thanks
differences in design by model. Only the 1958 edition get the round lights
Cloth interior is crazy on a Land Cruiser imo. Were I to buy one of those new generation suvs, it would be the Lexus GX with the turbo 6.
Dude if you got the underground trd pro then that’s money. Last of the best and a one year color.
Ceramic coat it. Trust me. My wife is getting her underground paint corrected and ceramic coated. That color is a micro swirl and dust magnet 😂.
As a 2022 4Runner owner, I probably would not have done this. That being said, if I needed a truck for light loads and trips, I would not have a problem with the Tacoma other than the ridiculous price.
4Runner in Terra, the color shouldn't make it to the lower trims like previous. It'd be like having a 2016 Quicksand 😍
I hope one day you learn the value of contentment.. Nothing new under the sun.. You should study Ecclesiastes..
I’m guessing you are getting the 4Runner before they disappear and the new, less reliable ones arrive.
This is also my next vehicle. I’m stuck between ‘1958 - land cruiser’ editions.
Would love to see a non-hybrid option and a manual.
Thanks for the video! I can't see myself paying 60k for cloth seats , Manuel seat adjustment for passengers, and cheap plastic. It does not add up.
Sounds like to me you will be buying the 24 TRD pro 4Runner TRD pro in underground. Me too! I will keep it forever!
That thing looks sick!
The Land Cruiser! Made in Japan, Full-time 4WD!, 465 lb./ft of torque! Yeah the weird powertrain isn’t ideal, but this thing is kinda cool in my book. I don’t care if the power is made by fairy farts; I’ll take these #s and have fun with it! I LOVE your videos! Stay awesome (and honest)!
2024 4runner PRO ! FOR SURE ! LAST of THE BEST !
Comedy is back - love it!
Currently at least two weeks. Did I miss the video of you acquiring the mystery vehicle?
I personally would not buy the new LC. I rather get the 6th gen 4Runner.
I wish they had the new LC without the hybrid system. My biggest gripe is the limited weight limit in the trubk.
Well since you already beat a 4Runner to death I say go for the lc. I hope they are so reliable man.
Aside from the powertrain, I love the new LC and would buy one.
Toyota needs to add the sway bar disconnect as an option for the 1958.
For real!!!
Nobody is ever going to truly need it.
@@FullsendOffroadHoly Crap finally someone who understands this. There’s no change to the rear and the front gets about 10% more articulation. But it’s another fail point that’s added. Not worth it…. It’s a gimmick.
@@charliemcawesome5012 and it costs 1300 bucks. Not worth it.
No consideration of the GX 550? Thought overtrain would be your vibe lol
Well seeing on the dealers website, they still have a 1958 LC in white, and no 4Runner TRD Pros, so I think we know the answer.
Great video. You really need to checkout the review that the Car Care Nut did on his channel, I think you will really appreciate it.
Thanks Brian! I’ll give his video a look.
You have to go with the 1958 @untamed. We’ve seen enough of the 5th Gen 4 Runner platform at this point.
If not time critical, when's the 25 4runner iForce available?
fall 2024….supposedly.
I know you're NOT going to buy a 4 cyl gasoline turbo...
Congratulations Toyota. You’ve turned a high-end offroad legend into a 4WD Corolla.
Yep. TRD Pro
