Breaking down. I once wild camped by Glen Affric and ran down the battery on my car so it wouldn't start the following morning. I had to wait ages for someone to pass so I could flag them down and ask nicely for a jump start.
Prescription. My prescription failed to arrive at my local Boots on time. My GP was good enough to break the rules, call Boots and ask them to pass the prescription request on to their branch in Fort William.
Locked gates. This hasn't happened to me but it was a near thing. The road in Strathfarrar is not public but is owned by the water board. There is a gate which is locked at 6pm. You have to fill in a form at the cottage by the gate and sign on your life to be back in time, or risk being locked in all night. It is a long walk over all three Munros and a long walk back along the road. I did make it but only in the nick of time!

The next day was all sunshine. Took a 19th Century steamer to the top of the loch, hitched a ride in the back of a postal van to grand old hotel on the upper East-side of Lomond. Thence a ferry across to main road. On Crianlarich, Coe, Skye ( Quirrang ! ), Ness, Culloden, Strathspey ( Whiskey Trail ! ), Clava Cairns ( spooky ! ) and South to Auld Reekie. After over 30 years so many moments are still seared in my memory.
Looks like a good day. Glad to see you two get along well and she seems to be a lot of fun
