Kinda ironic to include that in a video that's supposed to be debunking stuff. Fairly understandable mistake but yeah the cosmic ray theory has been semi debunked for a while now
I think they were trying to talk about the change in the distance between us and other stars being so high eventually it will be over the speed of light and we will not be able to see them(nothing will be traveling at the speed of light, but both things will be traveling relatively fast in opposite directions. Or something like that. I saw that somewhere)
No. It was just one theory with no actual evidence. It's not strictly impossible I guess, but there are many, many much more probable explanations for the glitch than a one in a bajillion chance cosmic event. Most likely, that cartridge of Mario 64 was just borked in a minor but specific way. Still, the cosmic ray thing is fun to think about.
Actually I think the vaporise part from the supernova in that extremely incorrect white dwarf slide comes from the exposure to the gamma rays- This is not the first time I’ve heard someone say that we would be vaporised by a supernova and their explanation is that the gamma rays would be so hot we would just melt
1:32 I think they are talking about how human light pollution obscures space from view and will eventually get bad enough you won't be able to see any celestial objects, not that the Earth will somehow outlive every star.

"The refresh rate of the universe" is such a funny way to describe the speed of light
“We are the ancients” goes so hard
they're gonna have a lot of canada moments like "at least we're not as bad as the ancients"
God... I wish we get alien cat girls and not rogue black hole.
Ah, great. Came here for some interesting facts for when I'm eating breakfast, ended up with anxiety instead.
sadly the mario 64 thing is likely to just be a screwed up cartridge, not cosmic rays
It works well as an urban legend in the speedrunning community, but not as an actual explanation/plausible theory
I just watched a video about Mario 64 speedruns what

or probably light pollution?
I second this ^
Exactly what I was thinking while watching
@@lothrin1 no, I don’t think so
@@lothrin1 you can always go to space for that
4:16 thats not real, a cosmetic ray didn't cause that. i forgot what did but it wasn't a cosmetics ray
I remember hat cosmic bitflip reference
Was the cosmic ray N64 thing ever confirmed

I think it has been debunked actually
@@theeyetriangleit hasn't. It could be possible and it still hasn't been explained, even if other theories are more likely.
I think the night sky thing might be based off of light pollution?
Cosmic ray thing actually changed an election result in Belgium
Also refresh rate of the universe killed me

This is not the first time I’ve heard someone say that we would be vaporised by a supernova and their explanation is that the gamma rays would be so hot we would just melt
However it would not melt our planet-
i’m afraid of our responsibility to the future, if we really are the First Ones

I think the night sky thing was talking about light pollution.
i love these videos man! keep up the great work 😁
Technically a white dwarf can supernova, but they usually turn into a black dwarf in that case
Welp, time to go speedrun Mario 64 and hope that a cosmic ray hits my console
Time to see what stuff gets debunked today.
Thanks for the facts
Very good video!
Another video andther peak
I hope you're doing better than a month ago❤
Yay
Nice vid
