Does Trey ever raise the flop with 9 high or 8 high diamonds against 4 players. I don't believe so. When you get called on all streets on this board Trey has to know that Xuan likely has a flush, and there is nothing that is stopping her from having the Q or J of diamonds. So its a spot where no one would ever bluff. If he's not bluffing and he wouldnt three bet the flop with an 8 high flush draw, it has to be value. But this is always so hard to figure out in game.

    • @michaelfosco2531

Even his hand is prob not supposed to be check raised. 6x of diamonds prob makes the most sense as a c/r as you block 66 combos and may be able to get a K to fold sometimes. Also some 45d, 57d type hands. If that’s accurate, which I’m not positive, he would have several lower flushes in his range. Now he may not go bet/bet turn river for so large with those so it comes down to specific opponent tendencies

The way the guy played the hand, what could he possibly have in this spot, other than queen high flush? Remembering he raised the flop, he could maybe have KQ off with the queen of diamonds. That's it. Too specific. Not an easy fold, but fold it is.

What a terrible spot for Xuan, and she absolutely needs to make the call (and receive the bad news). I do not think Trey is ever bluffing here, but she is 100% right that he could have worse flushes there given he raised the flop with a naked non-nut flush draw. If the turn diamond was not an ace folding would be more realistic, but what combos can Trey have that beat Xuan? QJdd, J8dd, and Q8dd? Tough hand.

We have to stop giving people credit for tanking when we know they have to call. The best chess players in the world concede three moves in if they know they can't win. But, from a war game perspective, he either had 2-4 of diamonds, or Jack-queen of diamond, because she had the the ten and nine. If you're going to take that long, at least figure out he has the queen high flush. No one's bluffing with an ace and queen on the board. But still, we all knew she was calling.
