Big Daddy V Scrubber Daly | Classic British Wrestling | 1984 | HD

- In the Mid 1980's Scrubber Daly was a regular tag partner of Big Daddy's nemesis Giant Haystacks.
But, standing next to a giant would make many people overlook the fact that Daly was a huge man in his own right!
Here he is taking on Big Daddy, possibly as part of a ploy to weaken the fan favourite leading up to a bout against Haystacks.

That laugh when the announcer says it'll be six rounds, brilliant
Brilliant! I actually got watery eyed watching this. All of a sudden I was back in my front room as a wee kid with my mum & dad watching world of sport.
You cannot underestimate how Big Daddy was popular a national icon.
Scrubber Daly - Malcolm Hardiman, a milkman from Nuneaton.
Good bloke, still active today and just released an autobiography.
We finally know how Big Daddy took power over oceania in year 1984
which you perfer wwf or british wrestling
Who knew Big Daddy was a member of the MCC?
Big daddy is huge biggest giant great wrestling
I get Scrubber was a big lad but he can't be that tall. He's a lot shorter than Gordon Prior the MC. Daddy doesn't look such a towering figure either.
Daddy was around the six foot tall mark, even at this stage of his career he was a big fella. His 64-inch chest earned him a place in the Guinness Book Of Records after all. Daly wasn't towering, we meant giant more in the sense that you wouldn't want to have to pick him up!
Also, Gordon Prior is a tall fella in his own right - eyeonwrestling.blogspot.com/2016/07/gordon-pryor-interview.html
OK British wrestling fans, explain the appeal of this guy? I just don't get it.
He was a personification of John Bull, and the kids loved him.
he was bigger than hogan in his day he always nearly took a child in a wheelchair to the ring and everyone loved him sure it might have only been about 2 minutes or wrestling then splash its all over but people bought into it. they said that he didnt really like the kids dont know if its true
I guess all you have to do is "get over." I never understood the appeal of Dusty Rhodes either.
@@jrbr549 Indeed. Plus, times change, so looking back at what used to work can be confusing to modern eyes.
At one point, Big Daddy held the official record for the World's largest chest (64") he was also a former soldier and professional rugby player.
Despite being a big fella, he feuded with an unstoppable 6'11" 600+lbs giant for maybe 15 years and won far more often than he lost.
Big daddy was popular but crap as a wrestler
