    Haystacks worked on a few of my promotions in the late 80's. if he said it was Monday, it was bloody monday.

    Good to see the bad guys win. Was always bored with the likes of big daddy always winning.

    Always difficult to see on vids just how big and powerful Elijahs muscles were but well nice seeing him here demolished by tougher men

    Commentator mentioned Daley was 22 stone here, looked a lot closer to 30 with that gut.

    this was a pitiful fix (I know they all were) it was so friggin obvious that Roach was the best here , the other chicken shits wouldn't even get in the ring against him , shameful . Why on earth wouldn't Bombers tag mates tag him when they were getting slaughtered & he was right next to them holding his hand out . So obvious who was going to win . Was funny & enjoyable though

    • @obadiahvondeath8048
      @obadiahvondeath8048 3 роки тому +1

      yeah, i thought that. its because the rings are so much smaller than the WWF ones! There was NO WAY the guy taking the pasting couldn't tag out!

    • @jamesvoller167
      @jamesvoller167 Місяць тому +1

      @martinworld7214 of course it was obvious who was going to win. That was arranged beforehand. Just like now and just like always. But in those days they still tried to pretend it was all real. These days, I think they've stopped even pretending.

    Scrubber Daly should of called himself mini Haystacks, the baddies were always my favourites, especially Giant haystacks (who I met and really was a GIANT, I'm 6.4 and only came upto his shoulders) I used to like Wild Angus aswell

      @74 torino In later life he had bad posture and stood 6.8 because he stooped but early on he was definitely 6.11, he was in the Guinness book of record also if you watch his match against Gywn Davies from around 1976/77 Gywn Davies is 6.5 and Haystacks is easily a head taller which would be easily 5-6 inches hence 6.11

    How did people whatch this

    • @michaelcox1221
      @michaelcox1221 2 місяці тому +2

      Quite easily. Nobody had access to WWF in the UK until around 1989, and even then Sky TV (the sole provider) was notoriously expensive and not everybody could afford it. British Professional Wrestling had been doing the rounds for years, entertaining the masses up and down the country since 1920. News and tapings from the USA were a trickle at best, drips at worst, so it was all we knew. I used to watch World Of Sport as a kid, then WCW when it aired VERY late at night (definitely after 01:00) and my dad would tape it for me, then occasionally WWF when I had the opportunity (we never had satellite). Oddly, I always preferred the early WCW to the cartoonish characters of the WWF in the 90s.
