Add Dashes & Gaps To Strokes in After Effects

This quick tip will show you how to add dashes & gaps to Stroked lines in Adobe After Effects CC 2024.
Keyboard Shortcuts:
G: Pen Tool (to create stroked line)
To Add Dashes (tick marks):Press Plus Icon next to dash property
To Add Gaps (spaces between dashes):Press Plus icon next to dash property a second time

How To Add A Straight Stroked Line:
1. Select the Pen Tool (G)
2. Turn off Fill
3. Select Stroke Color & Size
4. Click to add a point
5. Press the Shift Key and click to add a 2nd Point
How To Add Dashes & Gaps:
1. Select & Twirl open the Shape Layer
2. Twirl open Contents
3. Twirl open Shape 1
4. Twirl open Stroke 1
5. Locate the Dash Property
6. Click the Plus icon (+) one time to add dashes
7. Click the Plus icon (+) two times to add gaps
8. Change the dash property to increase or decrease the size of dashes
9. Change the gap property to increase or decrease the space between dashes
