Along with experiencing the new Gruffalo River Ride Adventure we check out all of the other changes across the park, including taking a close look at the construction of the Adventure Tree Carousel. Join us for plenty of on and off ride footage, reviews and plenty of laughs along the way as we enjoy a day at one of the best family theme parks in the UK.

I went on a Thursday to chessington and there was only about 150 people, mainly families with toddlers. we went on vampire 5 times In a row, dragons fury 8 times and dragons falls 15 times in a row
that day was great

This is fantastic to hear Shawn. I'd have to agree with Alex, it seems like Merlin have been upping their game recently. With DBGT and now this, I have high hopes for SW8 and the future of the parks! :)

The reliability of DBGT was a real mess, the ride itself was great, and now is fantastic. Gruffalo isn't basic or empty at all. This is a classic case of the grass is greener on the other side. DBGT is a one of a kind attraction that the UK is extremely lucky to have. You are also forgetting the fact that UK parks are European parks. :)
Aw, disappointed they haven't got new pin badge designs this year! Can't wait to get back on The Vampire.

Re-watching the vlogs, to me chessington was a park that was one of the first i went to when i was smaller. Still havent done Zufari or Kobra and i havent done gruffalo either!! I last went when wild asia was beanoland

I think Rameses Revenge was closed because when I went at the weekend it kept breaking down and it it took forever to get on!!
Guigi Bottle Flips I was waiting while my uncle, my aunt and two of my coisins went on, it broke down. I thought I'd be there for hours!

It's difficult because I'm about half an hour away from Alton Towers so it'd be like a 3 hour drive but if I'm ever visiting the area I'd definitely stop by

When you think £8.95 is a lot for a kids meal there i hap to pay that much for a chocolate frog at Harry Potter studio tour
i do love the vampire ride it was my first rollercoaster i every went on
I went a day before for the first and we waited 75 mins for vampire but it was worth it
I went on the Saturday it opened and it was brill, and busy, I don't like the new voice on vampire but rameses revenge was amazing they sent you round twice first time not so intense but the second time was amazing
What they should do on off peak days for Rameses Revenge is anyone who wishes to ride it gets an allocated time slot (like a free fastrack) and they ride it at that time.

I rided nearly all of these accept the Upiside down one the rattlesnake since closed and Dragons fury, I went when the 4 rides were closed because of smiler. Anyway,
And when I rided tombblaster I watched people shoot
My family have a joke whenever we go to wmsp we shout zeebra (pronounced how you pronounce it) and to continue the joke call giraffes jeeraffs.
It's so funny how they call it that on the ride!

I remember riding Toadie's Crazy Cars with my stepdad and he was giving me a "Driving test" It was so funny because he was saying at certain points "Right. Now change gear" And I would literally pretend there was a gear stick there and change xD But now I feel like I don't want to ride it anymore I feel like I'm too old haha

if Chessington are re-theming Transylvania then are they going to re-theme, or worse, remove Vampire?
I really do hope they don't remove it. It was my second coaster ever and my first proper one, so when I go this Summer I'll make sure I tell the staff to not remove it!
What's the best day to visit? So it's not so busy.
Weekdays outside of school holidays is the best time to visit

The adventure tree looks amazing and that wipe out game Is the same as forbidden sweep. I don't think the stage re-theme works cause it's not in wiled woods. The gruffalo does restore some hope for me in terms of merlin theming. They could do with a new coaster and dragon falls theming then I'm happy.

gruffalo is lovely, however it is supposed to be aimed at young children, my 3 year old wouldn't even go on it she started screaming as soon as we took her in, my 5 year old went in however was also afraid. saw loads of toddlers coming out crying.
Went on Ramses Revenge last time I went to visit, it was easily the best ride on park, loved how the operator was just toying with us. Vampire's got great queue line music, but the experience you get depends on where you sit.
Well sadly Rameses Revenge closed back in 2019 to replace it with a drop tower called Croc Drop for the 2021 season

I say they give Vampire a refurb. Track reprint, restoration of the station, giving the props a touch up and hopefully they can keep it for a few more years.

Our latest Alton Towers vlog is now online
I was at the John Lewis day at Alton Towers last Saturday and saw you and Harry at the gate (too scared to say hi though), also saw Lee walking around the park and I would just like to comment on the friendliness of every single staff member. We came from Surrey so decided to stay the night in the hotel and all the staff were amazing, same in the theme park. Much more polite and helpful than the staff at Thorpe Park which is my local :)
Can't believe you missed the fact the Vampire changed its station audio "The bats taking flight hahah" Instead of "Your in for a fright Mwahahahahahahahhhhhahaha"

Another amazing vlog, got good theming inside Gruffalo but 100% still prefer original storyline rides, attractions and coasters, instead of IP's. As Ip's are temporary. Where original attractions are permanent I like to hope so. But yeah sad to see Bubble works go, hope one day it may come back? But who knows & probs unlikely. But anyways, cheers for filming this vlog aswell sharing. Look forward to next & future vlogs. 😀👍

We're taking my younger brothers to Chessington for the first time next week, so I'm sitting with them watching a bunch of videos people have uploaded to get them even more exited.
My 11 year old brother has ADHD/ASD so it's really helpful for him to have an idea of what to expect, this video really helps with that so thank you :)

I’m here with you for bubbleworks but I’m so glad Shawn and Charlotte that bubbleworks fountains have survived but in my heart ❤ I will always will remember professor burp’s bubbleworks and bubbleworks in my heart as shown on 7:52.

I was at Chessie on Monday as well. Shame I didn't see you! I was very pleasantly surprised with The Gruffalo, I'd give it a good 8/10. It will never be as good as the original Bubbleworks, but it is far and away better than the stripped back and neglected version we had been left with. I now really hope that they keep the ride in a good condition and all the effects working!!

I didn't like the 2D effect with the mouse and the snake. They could have used a practical effect instead of glass effect. I would have went with an animatronic with a sound box. There were some small moments like when we met the actual Gruffalo they could have animated him where he would actually move a little bit and scare the heebie-jeebies out of you. Other than that the overall ride is really nice as I know being tech savvy how incredibly complicated it is to get everything to work together for one continuous story.
I'm not really a fan of The Gruffalo. I went on it in the summer, and for me I didn't like the fact that the story was word for word copied from the source material. At least with Charlie they managed to deviate a little bit, but when you know exactly what will happen it takes the fun out of it.

Ive just got back from Hong Kong and i went to Disneyland,I feel you guys will have to bite your tongue while at the theme parks over there regarding queue jumping,trust me it happens ALL the time,I mean i saw it 3 or 4 times on every ride we went on,Different way of life in China/Japan.Good luck.
