I'm sorry about the delay on this update. I am currently working on the Alton Towers version at the moment. Once exams are over, I will be doing plenty more history videos!

I miss safari skyline and bubble works. I think they should add another roller coaster for the thrill seekers like maybe something with a loop. Chessington need some loops.

It was a classic monorail! But it did have major technical problems, hence why they removed it!

Holy shit I remember going on that years ago when I was like really young. I didn't know that closed down. I didn't even know that was in chessington.
And the fact that this commentwas made 3 years ago....
Fun fact, in the 30's or 40's they walked the elephants to the Epsom Common, and onto the pond when it was frozen over during a cold winter.
I'm from the furture, bubbleworks closed and rethemed to a boring gruffalo ride, vampire refurbished (again) for 30 years of the ride including updated que line, new theme tune and more. The flying jumbos are going soon but have been painted into a lovely railnbow coulor.
Goodbye bubbleworks because it is closing for the grufflo

in 2018, a fire occurred on the wheels on Scorpion Express,
the ride rolled back and everyone on had to get out, thankfully no one was injured
For some reason this made me so emotional 😭 I miss all the rides that have gone and especially the old vampire
I want to see a big roller coaster come to the park, for the thrill seekers. The have some thrilling flat rides, but I want see a big roller coaster, something like a gerstlauer Eurofighter or a GCI woodie would fit the park well. ;)
It would be great to see, however I don't think it will happen!

+MC Hub Chessington World Of Adventures is aimed at children, so I can't really see any of those coming lol, but they do have Dragon's Fury which is kinda for thrillseekers?

So much has happened since 2016. Ramisies revenge close, dragon fools was re themed, the big wheel closed, the land of the tigers opened, bubble works was re-themed to the grufilo, and they are putting in a drop tower. Ps. Sorry for my bad spelling I’m slightly dyslexic

This is such an informative video and it really takes me back. I remember the 5th Dimension, that was so cool. Shrinking and going through the plug socket. I'm sad the Runaway mine train got re-themed, the tunnels were the best part!

Absolutely!! I think I made a mistake in my previous comment though, can't remember if you went through a plug socket or was just a prop. Anyway it was amazing.I'm happy Vampire is still around. I think it was the first coaster I ever went on.

Oh and at the current time there's been some changes to the park. Bubbleworks is now the gruffalow river ride (Bubbleworks had a fire a few years ago but not why it was changed), the penguin show is now a gruffalow show (can you see where this is going), dragon falls is now tiger rock which has a tiger enclosure attached to it. The Ferris wheel is now at Legoland, you've got 2 parts to the hotel safari hotel and Aztec hotel. There was a panda show there for a short time (don't know if it still is) but a lot of the small kiddy rides are now gruffalow themed rides (gruffalow everything in the shops trust me I deliver it lol) I think that's pretty much it.

Okay so I just discovered your vlog tonight because I want to know more about the UK’s parks. I’m American and living in Orlando and I go to the Orlando/Central Florida parks often (all Disney and both seaworld). I think your videos would be a more fun if you added voice to them and if you put some stuff about your personal experiences at these parks if you have any. I know from other vlogs like coaster bot, abandoned, and theme park worldwide, having their voices there just makes it seem more personable and not a lecture. I appreciate you putting the info together and the pics. I love the pics! but I don’t want to have to read the whole time! I’m not staying up till three watching these amazingly interesting theme park videos (yours and others) to read! PLEASE ADD VOCALS.

The problem is they wont ever get a big rollercoaster as the park is on greenbelt land which means that they cannot build above a certain height, and definetly not someething that can be seen from the trees, hence why rattlesnake is sunken into the ground and like rameses revenge is down in a ditch, the only exception was vampire which was built before the regulation came in. Hence why Thorpe Park became the teenage park and cwoa the family friendly one,.

You missed some things. Clown Coaster is missed, the Toy Town roundabout, and in 1987, Toadies's Crazy Cars was called Old Crock's Creek. But very detailed and better than mine. Well played. Also, Rodeo did not close until 2007. It was standing but not operating. Also, in 2007, the Premier Inn hotel was actually called the Safari Hotel, like now. It would be good if you did a modern video of this
I work there mate and I'm sorry to say that there's no plans for any other rollercoaster being put in they simply have no room and can't get planning permission. At 1 point (not any longer) they were planning on getting rid of vampire and replacing it (because it was becoming VERY temperamental) but they did a lot of update work to it instead of constantly doing patch jobs to it as you mentioned) the reason they didn't was 2 reasons 1) it would cause a lot of upset people (obviously as its a great ride my kids love it) and 2) the new coaster would have to be the EXACT foot print, size and layout of the Vampire (because planning permission to put a new coaster in a different layout and size was already refused) as I said earlier they wanted to get rid of it and put something else there. Anyway hope that's answered your question at the end.
I actually heard that the gruffalo ride opened in I think 2017 or 2018, and the room on a broom tour opened, between 2018 or 2019.

@@coolcattigger But it’s still a good ride like the previous one. Merlin made better replacements for Chessington than what they did at Alton Towers like to Air, Ripsaw or Submission.

I really like these Histories, Chessington should have a MACK Megacoaster or a B&M Floorless.
And I have some news for your next News show, Lightning Rod wich is being build in Dollywood has shown their trains to the public. And Ferrariland wich will have the highest rollercoaster of Europe wich is 112 metres high has already supports up and some track too. This is all the news I got for now, I'll bring you up to date if I have more news.

I'd love to see a family mack water coaster in 2017, possibly in the spot of Dragon Falls as its quite unpopular, never gets a queue, not the best log flume anyway, and also it's on a huge plot of land, so it would be a perfect spot for a mack water coaster. If they choose not to then I could see a family launch coaster, like manta at Sea World San Diego or maybe a toned down version of Maverick at Cedar Point.
You have got a great idea - I would love to see that at Chessington! I really do think they need a new Rollercoaster!
ATTENTION: penguins of Madagascar show also ended in 2017 to be replaced by the gruffalo show.

What happened next?
Tiger rock, a flume ride, opened, and croc drop, a family drop tower, is set to open in 2021. Ramseses revenge is now gone sadly, in my opinion that probably would have produced the biggest thrill (I don't know as I never went on it). Also the black buccaneer is shut and expected to be replaced with the rethemed blue barnacle, but covid has stopped work. Bubble works was changed to the gruffalo river ride adventure, and hocus pocus hall is now room on the broom - a magical journey. They need a new high thrill ride to replace ramseses revenge though. And I think monkey swinger may be adapted or closed in some way - when I went there yesterday it was shut and it is shut today too. I don't know if this is because of covid or something else, but it's currently not operating.

Why? Do you know why its closed.. Not that id go there anyway theres not much point paying £50 just to go on a few rides because most are kiddie rides and ramases revenge, cobra and dragons fury and vampire are the only ones id go on realy so its not worth going
