Try the same but use Grouse feathers....makes a nice dark pattern. Grouse and hare's ear has always been one of my favourite combinations. PS...I always use yellow thread... it was what I used when I first started tying Hare's ear nymphs and have never changed....40 years on.
Lindsay it is a nice pattern to be sure! I would have a few without the cheek as well. That should work anywhere! That Solaris brush is very fine, the thing is very easy to use on small flies!
Nice wee fly Lindsay, unfortunately I can't tie this one before I go on holiday, (tying room has been tidied and all my fly boxes are packed away in the camper), got a question though, where do you get your partridge skins from?. ATB Chris.
Very nice looking fly Lindsay. I like the idea of the eyes. Many thanks.
Glad you like it!
A nice looking wet fly pattern it looks like a hares ear, great part of a team,😀
Thanks 👍
Another excellent video and neat fly Lindsay. Thanks, Duncan
Cheers Duncan you are most welcome.
@@lindsayiflyfish Also great idea with the floss, never seen it used that way before.
@@duncanbayne745 Works well on PTNs as well. Using a similar style of tying in.
Nice alternative Lyndsay. I’ll give it a go. Thank you for another one dude.
Most welcome pal.

I use yellow thread on a lot of my flies give off a nice olive hue when wet. Have not come across Grouse feathers before will keep my eye out.
Very nice natural which I will call the Orange cheeky Simpson. Thank you from NZ.
Hi John, thanks it never really had a name it was just one of those generic patterns that works well.
Very nice Lindsay, I think that would do well on the river as well as the loch. Cheers Jimf
Very possibly, a bit big for the rivers I think.
Ohffcc.
Très belle mouche noyée et je pense ėfficace 👍👍👍
Merci beaucoup mon ami, super voler sur nos grands Stillwaters.
