- Iranian threats to carry out a missile strike against Israel are “unacceptable”, the Prime Minister said as he reaffirmed the UK’s support for Tel Aviv’s right to defend itself.
Tehran has vowed to retaliate after two of its top generals were killed in an air strike on its consulate in Syria earlier this month that the US military believes was carried out by Israel.
Although Israel has not commented on the attack, Iran’s leader the Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said the country “must be punished and it shall be”.
Mike Graham is joined by former British Army commander Colonel Richard Kemp, who is commenting from Israel, and he says: “There’s a great deal of apprehension in Israel surrounding the possibility of an attack from Iran”.
International security specialist, Will Geddes, adds: “Iran have a long history of operating on a very covert level”.

However, it was definitely not the Iranian consulate but rather a safe house of the Iranian National Guard, which is deeply involved in everything going on in the region. This makes it a legitimate target.
