      I agree. We've got to help ourselves with brighter clothes. When I'm driving I often don't see many cyclists in dark clothes until they're up close.

    I was being reminiscent of some saying Mr. Ronnie Coleman himself used to utter just before snatching hundreds of pounds onto his very back..;
    He used to shout "Yeahhh buddy!!" with the loudest voice he could possibly gather.
    That overtime became iconic of him!
    That's similar to your own , approaching any kind of climb however long and steep it may be, mustering every bit of strenght and resilience you can possibly draw from within.
    Two champions at work!
    Unrelenting at what they do.
    Proud of you, Katie ! :=]

    Gee, Katie, there was excitement-plus in your voice! Ah, the exuberance of youth! (Well, comparative youth.) I, too, dislike the restrictive effect of the chest strap, Katie, PLUS the Pacemaker in my chest interferes with the signal from the sensor to the head unit. SOOOO, I bought an arm-mounted HRM sensor, a Polar one, which my Garmin 520 picks up readily. It's probably the most accurate HRM I've had - and I've used a few, since the 1980s, when I first started using one. The only problem with it is that it's designed for swimmers, so it has a very small battery. Ah well..... I hope the weather does keep improving for you, Katie! We're just starting to notice cooler mornings, as we slip inexorably into autumn.....

    Your bike ride vlogs are the best on Zwift. Really, I would not ever, EVER jest you! 👏👏👏 Zwift doesn't play well with most Smart Watches that monitor heart rate, so I do use a chest strap for Zwift. Not a big fan of the feeling of chest straps, but I want the heat rate metrics so I suck it up. That new Garmin heart rate unit looks real smart. Unfortunately, I am a male and don't wear a sports bra. 😂 But my Apple Watch DOES connect nicely to my Garmin Edge, so I use it monitor my heart rate on outdoor rides (like Stevey!). It's all good for both men and women!!! 🙌🙌🙌

      @@KatieKookaburra Hi Katie! I use a Kinetic HRM chest strap for Zwift. It's similar to mid-level units from Polar and Garmin. In fact, one of those two companies may actually manufacture it for Kinetic. The Garmin HRM PRO looks super nice and definitely a step up from my unit. Zwift is supposed to be releasing an update to Apple Watch functionality as a HRM on its platform. If that doesn't help, I will def consider the Garmin Pro. Unfortunately, I think I just don't like something strapped around my chest. I wouldn't make a good female. ☺️

    Why do I feel your videos have become commercials?

    • @KatieKookaburra
      @KatieKookaburra  7 місяців тому +5

      Heeeey Len, I know you have been such an amazing supporter and follower and I see you on so many videos with lovely supportive comments so firstly thanks for the support. Because you have followed me for so long you will know how much I LOVE riding bikes and encouraging others to do the same and fortunately for me I have been able to make this my job and keep making regular content. And that for me has been possible working with brands I love, like Garmin.
      I totally understand how you feel because when I look on UA-cam or Instagram there are adverts everywhere and people pushing products left, right and centre and it's hard to know what to believe or who to trust. But, and as you have followed me for so long you know I will only ever work with select brands that I have used and paid for products with my own money in the past.
      Garmin is this exact situation. If you look waaaaay back on my channel to 2015 I bought my first Garmin Edge 1000 and loved it, and I love what Garmin do and think they come up with awesome solutions and ways to actually improve my cycling experience in so many ways. So I love supporting that, and that reciprocated support means I get to do this and keep content regular for you to watch and hopefully enjoy.
      I do hear you but know I turn down offers all the time because they don't align with who I am or what I want to put out on my channel. So please know your trust and my audience's trust in me is paramount and I will never EVER share a product I don't wholeheartedly love or believe in. Sorry for the long post but want to explain my stance on it all. Hope this helps. As always though thanks for the continued support Len x

    Others have said...you are camouflaged against the background scenery on much of the route.
    You wear the Rapha jackets but only in the dark colours. Why not get something in a colour which gives other road users a chance to see you ?
    Fashion over sense will get you hit by a vehicle.

      It's an Adidas yoga one but it's so comfortable and loooooove the colour. I got it from Tenerife last Jan so think you will still be able to find it.

      Interesting that Garmin say yoga bras are not suitable on their website. Perhaps your fit is really good and it works Katie. I really want one but the price at around $250 Australian dollars is a deterrent!

    Sorry. Sponsor or not, you have to get a thumbs down for not blasting Garmin for their RIDICULOUS pricing of that product you advertised for them (£140). I nearly spat out my drink. Not cool Katie ‼️⛔️❌👎💩
