Welcome to the states! You will have to be careful in NYC as they have some of the strictest laws in the US. if you take the UAS TRUST exam along with registering your drone, you should be good to fly on that end. You’ll want to check the airspace and make sure there aren’t any issues. Like I said, nyc has some strict laws and you might not be able to fly. I believe there are ways around that, but you’d have to do you own research for that
It seems very conflicting but I live here in Macomb county Michigan. I just bought a DJI 4K drone weighing 246 grams. Do I need to register this drone even though it's under 246 grams?
I also live in Macomb county Michigan. We should connect! If you are flying for part 107, you do need to register it. Technically, if you don’t have any additional ND filters or prop guards to weigh it down, you wouldn’t need to. That being said, it’s like $5 to register so why not
I’ve only earned about $1,500 through word of mouth and cold reach outs(part time while working a job), just enough to pay for my equipment. I am looking to expand into other media services in addition to drone work to expand my client base
Hey man, I'm from the UK and have a mini 3 drone sub-250g.
I'm going to NYC on Friday. What are the laws as a recreational flyer

How much have you earned so far? If you don't mind me asking...
