My friend has a 2012 Discovery in XS trim and she loves it, I actually have a video on it if you would like to see it Allan? ua-cam.com/video/9dPTbucuejk/v-deo.html
You bought a 3-ton crude house-on-stilts for touring and motorway cruising? Wouldn't a BMW 520i be a million times better with its superior comfort, quietness, lower costs? You do what you want but I was just incredibly surprised by that statement of yours.
Best car I ever owned. Infinitely capable, had it all over Europe. The confidence in knowing that, short=t of encountering a cliff or a lake, this car will get you there and back, without fuss and in limo-comfort, is very reassuring.
I've owned my Disco 4 for coming up to 4 years now and I love it. My wife was dubious but Disco Dave is now part of the family. We drove up the east coast of Australia (sydney to townsville) towing a 1.5t camper trailer and the car was in it's element, be it on some off road trails, the beach or the motorway. In terms of reliability, as LR is now owned by Tata, the issues and image of old are waining. The only small problem we had was with the front parking sensors that got a bit confused once. They are now fine though but the diagnostics took a while to work out what exactly the problem was. Servicing is pricier than most cars, but a small price to pay for the 'permagrin' feel!
I sold mine earlier in the year and bought the new discovery sport. I miss my old disco 4. It had so much more character. That doesn't mean the new disco sport isn't a good car because it is. It just doesn't have the "je ne sais quoi(?)" I used to love without quite knowing it.
+Cuchulain Hammilcar thinking of getting a disco 4 but all this talk about reliability puts me off whats your view on them did you have any problem with yours.
Nice review! At the moment, I'm driving a 1997 Discovery Tdi, series 1. But it's getting older and older with it's 250.000 miles. I really hope that my Disco will keep on working for a couple more miles, but then I may upgrade to a newer model.
Read the reviews. Like this old style model and an buying one which is still in great condition. Spoke with the dealer who sells only Land Rover vehicles - he said he has bought the latest model and doesn't like his vehicle as much as this older classic. I can see why because this is still a Land Rover and not some mix which is the same as some other Tech. vehicle.
+par ubhi Just curious, was it personal experience or did you read or hear from someone else? Cause I've heard lots of owner that are very satisfied and had not had a single problem with them. But I've also read a lot about its issue.
+aabidam I have never read anything good about the Rover brand name reliability. this is based on several different publications that keep track of such data. The British simply don't know how to make reliable cars, just like their past. They are certainly easy on the eyes but such an expensive vehicle should have more than just looks.
Just bought a 2012 sdv6 with 130 000km. Drove it for 100km and the engine blew up. Sat on the tailgate waiting for a towtruck for 3 hours. Don't do it!
You are well spoken, and you clearly know your stuff, a professional and impressive video, but do wear a shirt, be a gentleman! I'm clearly being a snobby arse, but come on ;) what was this excellent music choice?

Own a 2012 Discovery 4 Braemar Edition. Best vehicle I have ever owned. Used as a touring vehicle and motorway cruiser. Excellent

Beautiful machine, just bought a used one and I love it
Good Review.

+Nathaniel Hawk Love a classic Disco! The new ones are great and absolutely effortless off road.
hengisbury head lol, and ive just bought one, luv it
what a fantastic review. I'm eyeing one of the earlier Disco 4's up at the moment, Beautiful vehicles
Gary Hawkins Thank you. They are great cars, highly recommend them.
good review, i get mine on monday but the rear seats are good for adults. i am 6ft and i was fine.
Alex Sibley Good choice. For a long journey an adult wouldn't be at their most comfortable.
Great video, I have very late landmark on a 66 plate , the spec sits between hse and hse lux , regards mark

Realmente, a LAND ROVER , é um sonho de consumo, acredito que esta versão, ainda não chegou no Brasil
Great Job. excellent review & you meant what you said . Thanks for it
Very good review, well done.
+Rob Rogers Thank you!
Is this Christchurch?
It is indeed
Brilliant review. Thank you
+John R You are welcome.
nice review on a great 4x4. was it my eyes or were the day running lights flashing on and off when you were off roading?
+Ben Collins It is the camera. It's frame rate is faster than the lights.
+Inside Lane ok then lol. I was going to say it would be a cool feature.
I would love to see the Diesel in the USA!!! the GAS 15-17 mpg is awful!
+Jerry Wright I think selling diesels in the US is going to much tougher after the VW scandal.
+Jerry Wright At least the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport now have the Diesel option in US
Nice upload!

what you have to say about the reliability
+Raj Patil It sucks. Rovers get very poor reliability ratings across the board. I would never waste money on one.
+par ubhi hahaha. 😂
+par ubhi Just curious, was it personal experience or did you read or hear from someone else? Cause I've heard lots of owner that are very satisfied and had not had a single problem with them. But I've also read a lot about its issue.
+par ubhi ROVER is actually a very different brand to Land Rover. Anyway - reliability - abysmal as always.

So why do people slag them off as being unreliable.

Haha! I do need to get some more shirts, quite conscious of wearing the same one on a review. I'll look into the music for you and let you know.
The music was warrior concerto, by the glitch mob
Süper
You pulled out in front of that car. how are you qualified to give a review when you can't drive.
Awful music at start…
I like the car but over priced
Have a Good Credit Card on Standby.
This vehicle is not Reliable
who the F lets his kid drive his Landy ?
I'm a motoring journalist - a member of the press. This Discovery belongs to Land Rover who sent it to me for a week to undergo a road test.
Mike. D the jokes on you lol
