Especially now that they are starting to get their badges. The Jordan Challenge is the best addition to the game.
I'm giving this version a Five (5) rating in the early stages... I bought the $100 version and played several hours over the weekend (Mainly in MyCareer). First Build is a Center which is Defined as a "Defensive Anchor" (Shaquille O'Neal was identified in the mold)... I chose to play in Dallas because of the the dynamic with Luca. Anyway--- My first BIG issue with this game is that I am literally stuck on Level 3!!! I've done so many quests and activities that should be increasing level but I still get a BIG FAT 0.0% increase for level 4... WHY? WHY?... The other issue I am seeing is that VC is incredibly slow to accumulate. Slower than past 2K versions.... I'm a true grinder (I will NEVER buy VC with actual money-- well other than the added feature in the version I paid.. But even the 100,000 VC in the purchase got my player to about a 79 rating)... I get about 800 VC per NBA game and around 300 for the Quest Park plays. I like the Leadership skills options this year, but it is still somewhat confusing... The Skills Badges are OK-- I feel like they tweak these every year and it takes a little trial and error to learn them... NOW-- as for the Story tied into MyCareer... I like some aspects of it, but it is incredibly "forced" drama... There is entirely too much unnecessary and silly dialogue in the "skits" for quests. It's cool to have a "rival" and some characters that offer conflict--- But it gets confusing in this game... My Player was a starter and putting-up solid/great numbers with Teammate Grade at A- or better and the team was literally undefeated!... And MyPlayer gets BENCHED for six (6) games with the goal of getting teammate grade of A- or better in the 6 games?...IT MAKES NO SENSE! My hope is that future versions of this game offer a different option than the Music/Fashion "schtick" that has occurred recently... It's boring and (as a midwestern "farm-boy") I roll my eyes to pretend my 7-foot, White player is going to be the Rapper/Fashion icon for the NBA. I would love to see a Hoosiers (movie) style of story -- Where a Kid comes from a small-town... But I'm sure the game has to stay connected to their city theme... I'm not a developer or anything.. But I wish there was a manner to offer multiple storylines for more players to relate or experience. ---- And the other thing that I've noticed over past two versions is that the Free Spin has scaled-back awards... I loved it when you could win a Jersey, Swags item, Tattoo, etc.... Instead, we get 1,000 VC at the most or 3-games of Gatorade Boosts... I just find that 2K is hell-bent on getting people to fork out more money to buy VC... And they are targeting the money of people from the inner-city... It used to frustrate me that The City has a BLM Court (where I never see anyone play)-- But it makes sense that the game is connected to BLM because it targets minorities in an effort to get money from them to enrichen themselves and BUY MANSIONS.
Bro you wrote a whole senior thesis 🤦🏽♂️. 2k isn't targeting minorities...They're targeting young basketball junkies and minorities happen to make up a large percentage. The BLM court is more about the power that the NBA and their empowered players (and causes) have over the game. 2k23 is a solid game, just based off of the advancements in the builder and badge progression system. Yes, it's a cash grab but it's a business model that's been successful for them, so why would they change it?

I’ve had the game since the night before launch and I haven’t been able to play any games online. My game kept crashing on day 1 and my build disappeared so I’ve been emailing back and forth with 2k support for almost 4 days. I think they’re trying to restore my build but it’s useless to me now since I’ve been getting badges in career with a new build.

Quest progression is a huge problem. I can’t play anymore mycareer games because of a quest I don’t have. Also quests I’ve already cleared aren’t showing that way.
for a 2k game? 8/10 for sure. I disagree with people saying shots are inconsistent. When I've perfectly timed my js I've always greened and when I didn't I missed. Play with meter off its more accurate.
Yes it really does I thought I was the only one anchor and chase down aren’t as good as I thought they would be even ps 6’2 could get nasty chase downs with the badge in 22 and I got pg with their awful dunks dunking on my 6’10 Pf even when I jump defo needs a buff paint defence

You don’t lvl up doing quest you have to play park to get you season lvl up

On PC it's a 6 the gameplay is great but it crashes too much and has erased my player I got my vc back after I contacted support

Probably a once off man, and I guarantee the dude was probably more stoked about hitting that shot than you were pissed about it.
