As Moesha and Q make up for time spent apart, Q makes an odd request involving her engagement ring. (Q needs the ring to help finance some new rap group he's producing.) Khalib advises his help and concern for Moesha and offers to lend them the money. But when Moesha tells Q the news, he overreacts; leading to the end of their engagement.
When Mo said “Goodbye Quentin!” I knew it was over!

I don’t care what nobody say Mo and Q were toxic but he was the boy Moesha had the most chemistry with. Q was most definitely wrong for asking for the ring back, and it meant a lot to her. He shouldn’t have bought it nor gave it to her if he knew he couldn’t afford it. I don’t know why he thought she’d give it up that easily, that sealed the deal in Moesha’s mind that they were gonna be engaged to be married one day and Q asking for it back seemed like he didn’t want that at all with her. I would’ve been upset too.

This scene was the final straw. Moesha & Q had been toxic af for years. And Brandy was tired of the bullshit between them. Brandy knew Moesha deserved better.

Let's be honest, their relationship was a toxic mess that needed to remain in the past. Never forget that he's the reason her father made her change schools for year. And he was just a rebound after her drama with Hakeem anyways.
He really was just a rebound and the writers forcing this whole thing of them getting back together was good for nothing! Okay Hakeem messed up but she really didn't give him a chance to explain she just moved right on to ease the pain she was feeling at the moment that's why it was so easy for her to walk away in this scene.
As an adult....looking back at one of my favorite t.v. shows....Moesha was tripping!

Let’s just all agree that Mo should’ve been with Jeremy honestly... he respected her more than any of those other dudes she dated and she had so much more chemistry with him after only one episode than she had with Q in a whole season and more than what she had with Hakeem throughout the whole show

But Moesha "Im gonna ask Khalid for money" isn't wrong for inviting another man who has VERY CLEAR intentions towards her relationship? Moesha's hesitation is not only indicative of her lack of faith in Q as a musician/ producer (a very successful one at that as we see), but also of her lack of faith in their relationship and that is NOT Q's fault. Right before they got engaged, Khalid was filling her head up with all kinds of "well Q not looking at them other girls cuz you're around, imagine if you weren't here" nonsense. Between the writers writing Frank being Dorian’s father from an affair with Mo’s mother and Mo and Q breaking up they was on something . I swear
I believe the original writers changed due to brandys mother etc and that's when the changes came as the other actors spoke on this...it would have been nice to see Frank accept that Q over everyone moesha dated actually genuinely loved her

I really didn't think that Q needed to return to the show at all. I liked the terms him and Moesha originally ended things on, and his whole arc was basically a chapter in her life that she learned from. Bringing him back was one of the things that spoiled the show for me.

Moesha and Quinton should have remained in the past. An ex is an ex for a reason. Plus, Quinton only showed that he didn’t change and that he’s still not a match for Moesha. Although Hakeem is a great guy for her, the best guy for her was Jeremy. Quinton is the reason why Moesha did things that were unlike her and that would jeopardize what she had going on. It’s one thing to go through that as a teen, but it’s another thing to go through that again as a young adult. Quinton is not the one for Moesha.
I think they were both wrong. Him for asking for the ring back, and her for going to HIS friend, a friend who obviously had feelings for her.
It wasn't right for him to ask her for it. But in my opinion, I think she should have at least offered. That's your future husband and she had the potential to help him.
And it's not like Q was some struggle rapper lol. He was actually going on tour and making moves, so much so that he had the means to get her the ring in the first place.
I think they just needed to find any reason for them to break up. I still like them better than her and Hakeem. The bestfriends ending up together is so typical and played out.

That's what I said to my sister when I recently got to watch the show again now that we're older. You don't go out and get a ring for a woman until you know for sure you're financially capable. I really believe that Q was stringing Mo along the entire relationship. He had affection issues, and it seemed like Mo was the one doing most of the work to make the relationship stay afloat. He should've just remained single and focused on his career until he was absolutely ready to give Mo what she needed. It was painful to watch.

Everybody that love Q and Mo together are toxic too. He only gave her that ring and proposed to her to sleep with her, just go back and watch the season premiere when they got back together. That’s is what Mo gets of how her and Q hurt Hakeem’s feelings. He kissed Niecy cause of what Alicia and Joy told him cause Mo was hanging with Q and going out on dates while Hakeem was at work. Mo didn’t even listen to what he had to say, but expected Hakeem to listen to her after she told him she was engaged to Q. Hakeem was better for her cause they had already been friends for a long time. I never saw their relationship as in brotherly/sister way. Q wasn’t it and I was glad they relationship didn’t work out again.

@@sierraford2955 so the ending was actually revealed in Sheryl Lee Ralph’s book, Redefining Diva. The storyline had Moesha pregnant by Q and getting back together with him, leaving Hakeem. Also Myles was rescued! Also, go back and watch that last episode that had Q on there when they broke up. The part where they walked out the room together said a lot by saying so little!

After the storyline where Frank revealed Dorian was his son, a lot of fans and some of the cast members were done with the show. Not even Fredro Starr(Q) could save it. By the time they got to season 6, the ratings had already plummeted. Plus with the success of The Parker’s and One on One, UPN just figured it was time to pull the plug. They were also supposed to continue the Moesha storyline on The Parkers but didn’t do so.
To me Mo was wrong in this situation. of course nobody wants to give their engagement ring up, but that is such a small piece of the puzzle when it comes to marriage. She know Q's job, she knows what he wants to do with his life, he's been clear about it since high school so for her to call what he was trying to do a pipe dream like he hasn't proven that he's making moves for future was disrespectful. going to another man especially one that everybody knows likes her to borrow money for her fiance was disrespectful.
If she really loved Q she would’ve given him the ring. If she truly believed in him and his dream then she should know she was gonna her another one, probably better than the first. Not to mention she was dead wrong for bringing another man into their business, classic Moesha she pushed that man out life because she couldn’t get her way.

I loved them together dont get me wrong but their relationship in the earlier seasons were better than what it was in this season! The earliet seasons they had that young cute, puppy love. I believe they did love each other back then but I think it was just too much going on and they didnt really understand what "love" really was. Now in this season it was just good for nothing. I know longer see the chemistry that I seen in the earlier seasons (just my opinion). And it was all forced and good for nothing

All she had to do was talk it out with him!!! The only reason she went with Q was because he came with a better deal!!! A RING DOESN’T MEAN SHIT!!! Moesha’s ideology of love comes from a superficial mindset. Q was right to say she was materialistic, if she truly loved him then she could’ve waited for Q to get another ring. She did the same the thing again with Q what she did to Hakeem, by talking to Khaleb about their engagement instead of talking it out with Q. All she cared about was showing off her ring and engagement!!! Trying so hard to hold on to something was not their love, but the damn ring itself. Q and Moesha are the prom queen and king too superficial and too narcissistic for each other. Moesha got caught up with the haze of marriage as supposed to thinking about her future and how it was going to play out. Most women do this, but Im not saying all of them do. There’s a valuable lesson to be made here: MEN AND WOMEN FIND YOUR LIFESTYLE FIRST THEN FIND YOUR LOVE!!! When you’re on the way to get it you can see the future clearly, but when love comes into the picture it’s like wearing a blindfold you don’t know where you’re headed because you’ve involved another person with a different idea and plan.
I dont think she went to Que because of the ring she went to Que because she was hurt. She really wanted Hakeem but went with Que after catching him and Neicy kissing so her picking Que was by default not out of true love so they was never gonna work out.
I was NOT feeling Mo & Hakeem as a couple @ all!! It’s like the writers just put them together AFTER yrs of them being like brother & sister ewww!! Sheryl Lee Ralph & William Allen Young went to the producers & PLEADED with them NOT to do the “Dorian is Frank’s son” KNOWING the damage it would do to the show, but they didn’t listen nor care!! Sheryl Lee Ralph even said in several interviews that once that it was CONFIRMED the storyline was moving forward she DECIDED NOT to return to the show!! That DECISION sent the ratings PLUMMETING!! Some cast members & A LOT of fans weren’t feeling it!! Like another person mentioned by the time season 6 premiered it was pretty much a wrap!! Continuing the Mo pregnant by Q storyline on “The Parkers” wouldn’t have worked anyways because of the DRAMA between Brandy & Countess Vaughn!!

I understand Q was wrong for asking for the ring back and he should have never brought it or proposed if he couldn't afford it but sometimes Moesha does too much, she does things and don't really think about other's feelings it's like everything has to be her way or no way at all. I noticed that during the whole show. Mo was a little selfish sometimes. Also, may I add that Moesha was wrong to involve another man in her boyfriend/fiancé's personal business.
