If Tumbad were a Hollywood movie then Indians would have gone crazy , be saying things like "wow what a movie, cinematography" ,but they won't watch Tumbad just because it is Indian !!

i have watched this film very long ago on amazon prime. i think i was only the first viewer of this movie..i watched this movie with my family.. after movie our mind was just blowed away.. we used to watch again and again.. we were so obsessed with this movie like for months we were including these movies impacts in our daily conversations. i was in college that time..even i have shared my experience with my classmates and also suggested them to watch also.. but unfortunately then it was not that much accessible by everyone (the OTTs) but now it had been years... now am married and have a kid of 4yr but still we add the 'Tumbad' conversation our daily talk.. i heartly bow to the makers of Tumbad and really their hard work is more than any appreciation... Hats off to the makers and their hard work and dedication..it really worth it... and heartly thank you thank you thank you thanks a lotttttttttt for giving this movie to us and our society...

Believe me every single word that Sohum shah is saying is 200% true. The kind of detailing in every scene, every dialogue, every frame, BGM , costumes, sets and the detail is so minutely captured that you'll believe its shot in that era. Lucky to have seen this film 6 yr back in an almost empty theater. and super happy that finally this film will get its due, this is beyond words and what Indian cinema has ever made conceptualized or seen. An absolute amazing experience

Indian horror needs to be the way Tumbbad is. Rooted in Indian villages and towns, our folklore and atmospheric. Wish Sohum and Team all the luck with their cinema and hope the craft only gets better from here.

Hats off also to Marathi writer Narayan Dharap who has originally written this story. He was also known as “Stephen King” of Marathi horror writer. Rahi sir was very much inspired during his childhood with his stories which gave birth to Tumbad!! Also thanks to Sohum sir who took the risk and made this haunting movie. I hope we will get to watch such movies more 😊 I would also all request you to please watch this movie again in theatres although you may have watch on OTT platform. It is Single penny worth watching on theatres again!!!! There are lot stories written by Narayan Dharap which could turn out to be movies if we get more visionary director like Sohum. I have personally read some nice horror flick stories of this writer and then could not able to sleep almost two nights!! There was one story of him “ The mad writer” which still haunts me!! All books are in Marathi. Not sure if it has been translated or not. But do read his books if you get a chance. It will drive you crazy!!

Let's stick with Indian folklore and epics. The world is full of Gothic and Nordic lores that Hollywood has popularized while we have a treasure trove of itihasas, puranas and regional folklore that are being forgotten by natives. For ex. Kalki is a good initiative post Kantara. Hardly anyone knows of Lalita Tripura sundari and the team of goddesses's epic battle to defeat Bhandasura and allies.
