After that complete silence. Everyone was mesmerized by what was happening on screen. Vidya's acting in particular had made that intense. The silence broke only when the director's name finally appeared. People were prasing movie & promising to watch it again

When I first saw it back in '07, I presumed it was a full on comedy as it was directed by priyadarshan sir who is top of his work with his fav Paresh and Akshay. But only after watching it and feeling how intensely this horror mystery was executed, simply remarkable. Havent seen the teaser of bb2 but I can rightly say, would be no match to the original. But i do appreciate Kartik Aryans hard work but Akshay is akshay

The panditji scene towards the end is so much better. Priyadarshan may have been the assistant director but he fails to capture the essence of the original movie Manichitrathazhu. Vidya Balan to Shobana is an apples to oranges comparison. The movie also explored an inter-faith love story between the doctor and the girl everyone thought was a ghost.
The story actually shown that it was not mental illness but actual Ghost😂😂 and as a result it supported the superstition that ghost gets attached to people🤣🤣
Vidya Balan did a phenomenal job in this movie... I think she should be appreciated more than Akshay Kumar... She got into the skin of the character 👌👌
I think i have watched this movie more than 100 times. This movie has a very special place in my childhood memories. I still remember the first time I watched it, i was in 1st standard and was scared out of my mind. We used to wait patiently for this movie to come on channels like colors, star gold and now after all these years its easily available on youtube. How time flies❤

😂 yeppp! Just completed watching! And I saw that, this movie was around psychology element, but others like bhool bhulaya 2 or 3 are basically showing ghosts!! Like that doesn't make any sense to me! And 1 part has better comedy, romance and balanced horror elements where as part 2 and 3 are not even close and full of forced comedy poor construction of scenes!

I love how this movie was the first Indian movie with mental illness references and to show how serious they can be, how they can exist and how they can ruin lives of people suffering from them along with their families. Way beyond it's time. I absolutely love this movie. ❤️❤️
@@chethnamenon564 bro Priyadarshan was involved in that one too actually uska director Fazil hai and he and Priyadarshan are more or less Guru Shisya so Priyadarshan got inspiration from there to make this film but Priya was Fazil's assistant for the original movie

@@AmartyaRao356 Have watched both. The dialogue delivery of the original movie is waay better. Here the dialogue delivery seems monotonous and robotic. Eg. The panditji scene towards the end is so much better. Priyadarshan may have been the assistant director but he fails to capture the essence of the original movie Manichitrathazhu. Vidya Balan to Shobana is an apples to oranges comparison. The movie also explored an inter-faith love story between the doctor and the girl everyone thought was a ghost.
The story actually shown that it was not mental illness but actual Ghost😂😂 and as a result it supported the superstition that ghost gets attached to people🤣🤣

😂 yeppp! Just completed watching! And I saw that, this movie was around psychology element, but others like bhool bhulaya 2 or 3 are basically showing ghosts!! Like that doesn't make any sense to me! And 1 part has better comedy, romance and balanced horror elements where as part 2 and 3 are not even close and full of forced comedy poor construction of scenes!
