- ONE-POCKET - DARREN APPLETON and JOSH ROBERTS were up against eachother at the 2022 Derby City Classic One-Pocket division. Appleton, clearly one of the best in the world at the rotation games, winning a World 9-Ball title and two U.S. Open 9-Ball titles, was still looking for his first major One-Pocket championship. Roberts, on the other hand, was known as a one-pocket specialist winning his share of those events.
Mark Wilson and Jeremy Jones shared the action.

Met Jeremy and his wife in Tallahassee last May. Truly an ambassador for pool. His knowledge is vast and his humility for such a Pro is unusual in today's society! Celebrated his 50th birthday with him and his wife....one of my favorites! ps Josh also fits this description.
Great representative of the game
Great match!!!
Great match
I like Josh Roberts in this one. While Appleton is imo one of the absolute greats and a great ambassador for pool/billiards as a whole, Josh is a 1 pocket specialist. This is what he focuses on.
Josh plays ALL GAMES world class speed as well and is a great ambassador for the sport.
@@darrellmccall6100 yes, but from what I’ve seen, he seems to focus on 1P
Should be a good one ☝🏼
Wow
See, even you dont have World title you still can beat one of the Champs...
Well they use to have world title for one pocket don’t know why not anymore. Josh is a world class 1p player tbh
I'm unsure what JK means by "slide". Josh hit a ball at low or medium speed from the bottom rail to the left with top and maybe a bit of left to kill it. How he sees "slide" on it at any point is unclear to me.
Freshly covered tables are known to slide before they get worked in. It happens on the rails, the don’t react as normal, especially on a tv table that is much drier than other ones
