Oh yeah. We nearly forgot, since this was back in 2009, this was also before New Flyers 5613-5830 and 5851-5950 got repowered with the Cummins ISL. That ZF Transmission must've been cool with that roaring Series 50.
I like the 2010 hybrids, especially 8405-8459. No use getting NABI back. NABI got permanently wiped out in October 2015 in favor of the New Flyer Xcelsiors.
these New Flyer 40ft buses (5000/8000 series; the ones with the orange light) have been on fleet for a long time. You think they gonna go on retirement soon? They should order the New Flyer D40i buses as the new fleet. Those D40i buses look awesome.
The D40i Invero? New Flyer has not made those in over 20 years. Xcelsiors are all you get from them now. The 5000 series D40LF buses have been gone for a few years now, killed off by our Xcelsior order, and the 8000's are starting to go, as our new Xcelsior order replaces them (the first several, starting at 3525 began service this week while 8000's have started dropping over the past year). This new order just starting to come in is set to replace roughly 8000-8339.
They're just express trips on the route as a whole. If it was a separate route number, that would be a different story, but this only covers the route numbers as an entity, and not service patterns.

@@danielsamuels5857 The 133 replaced the 304. I won't say it became the 133 because it's not the same routing at all whatsoever, nor does it follow the same schedule. It's only the same between Frankford-Knights and State and Street Roads. After that, the 133 then goes over to Expressway 95 Business Center, terminating near Eddington Station whereas the 304 would turn onto Street Road, pass Eddington Station, then continue back onto State Road serving Croydon, and Terminating in Bristol. All that service on the 304 was never replaced with anything, even to this day. Not to mention route 133 only runs in peak directions on weekdays while the 304 ran hourly in both directions Monday-Saturday
Tbh, i feel like the orange light stands out more than the green light at the front
I miss the 71.
2:58 I remember cheltenham and ogontz use to look like that 😱😱😱😱
50:28, Route 90 service to Plymouth Meeting Mall via Blue Bell? I thought only the 98 served Blue Bell.

14:44 Wonder where that trolley is. Gon go see it lol
It's gone now, along with the diner. I've forgotten who has the trolley now or where it is, but it is still intact.
@@trainman1971 Oh dang also btw loved your Market Frankford late 90’s series
I was 9 years old I want the old buses back
I love the new buses! Especially the E40LFR Trolleybuses!

@@danielsamuels5857 I hate them
Daniel Samuels actually the 40ft NovaBus replaced them, not the New Flyers
@@DonJuan-xe5pd I know that. I was talking about how New Flyer discontinued the NABI product line in 2015.
wait a minute, he missed route 4, which goes to Fern Rock to Broad & Pattinson
Route 4 (or 16) did not exist in 2009 when this video was shot. It was still Route C.

@@trainman1971 well in this case I wonder what the new fleet of SEPTA will replace those....
What about express services on some routes?

back then, septa was the legend
for a second i was like “where is the 4 bus”
Differences (route number wise, not destination wise) between then and now:
Route C became routes 4 and 16 in 2012
Route 71 was eliminated in 2013
Route 100 became the Norristown High Speed Line

Route 45, 49, 78, 126, 133, 311 did not yet exist
And then I did Route By Route 2 in 2016 (posted on this channel earlier). Even that pre-dates the 49 and 311... hehe
Now 49 is a route now

Route 121 appears to be missing, this had to been taken after that route merged with 44
I had no idea that SEPTA had buses that went into Delaware.
Yup, Route 113 .
Did the route 127 used to go past Oxford Valley? In this video, its going past the Lowes on Lincoln Highway, which it doesn't go past now.
Yes. 127, 128, 129, and 130 all used to start at Oxford Valley Mall.
gonna miss the el dorados with their short stocky structure
