Thanks Tim for comparing this to the CSB Single Column Personal Size. I’ve been watching videos & wondering about the size. I have that CSB so now I know exactly the size of the Passagio! It can be quite hard to tell just by looking at it on videos, so great stuff!
I always love it when publishers play around with new formats. This is a very cool idea, though, I’m not a huge fan of the dark blue text color. Contrast is important when reading for long periods of time. A+ on the new design though. Keep it up Zondervan.
I've been reading from this for the past few weeks. I don't love the double column portions much. The way the lines are broken up really messes with my OCD. The single-column sections, however, are downright gorgeous. The print is SO EASY to read. Honestly, probably the most readable version that I've ever seen, and I would anticipate that the size of the print is part of what makes this have "only" 160 pages fewer than the CSB single column, which appeared to have slightly less bold text.
I really liked what you showed. I’m a Bible ownership addict but I don’t think I’ll be buying it for my own use. However the size is big plus. The CSB is better in a lot of ways. Zondervan is still the leader. 👨🏻🦳🔥♿️ MikeinMinnesota. I’ll see YOU at the Top!
I love the concept, but I think that it should be the other way around! Poetry is so much better when each line only takes up one line! I recognize though, that it would be difficult to reverse the flow... How would we know when to move to the SCR part from the double column. Either way, this seems like a very interesting page setting and would love to give it a go.
The point of the double-column poetry is for better use of space. Single column poetry leads to a lot of white space, and therefore more pages - more expensive to print and a thicker book.
Thorough review! Tim, here is a suggestion ... you have covered so many topics already, and perhaps I missed it, but you might consider giving us a comprehensive summary of all translations and their history (dates of publication). I refer to a big-picture, bird's-eye view. That way we could see the whole picture at once. Whatever! Thanks for your work!
It looks like they're using the same leathersoft on that one that they used on the Thompson Chain... Which is absolutely fantastic imitation leather. Wonderfully flexible, feels great. But the fact that it has a paper liner might be enough to put me off. Recently my Bibles with paper liners have been cracking rather easily. I think even at the "mid-range cheap" bracket like this, they should be using vinyl liners. As far as the Passaggio setting is concerned, it's something I'm going to have to read for a while to decide whether or not I like it. I do like the color scheme of the pages, though. Very handsome.

Thanks for sharing, Tim. The layout of the Passaggio design is different but I'm starting to like it.
I've been wanting to see this, thank you for sharing. Good job as always!
This is actually such a great Bible for the money! I put my hands on one at the store today. Cool setting!
Tim very nice to have you back, 👍 very good. as usual.
I think I would prefer it all be single column. I love that all these new bibles are line matched. It makes a big difference.
I like it. I've wanted a format like this for years.
Thank you .. I so enjoy your channel.

Beautiful bible! I’ve used the 1979 NIV all my life. I have a 1984 version as well but I prefer the original. Never read the 2011…I like this layout!

@@RoastBeefSandwich That's true! It does lead to less white space and less cost, but form a visual perspective, it looks way better (imho) :)
Agreed. I'd prefer the other way round, even if it added pages (and cost). Or just ALL single column.
@@ma-mo There are plenty of single-column and double-column NIVs out there already.
I’m loving it thanks for the review 🙌🏾🙏🏾
Thanx, Pastor 🌹🌹🌹
If Thomas Nelson did this format with the NKJV I would check it out.
They also have a Thinline Edition which are Red Letter and cheaper.
I saw this somewhere a few weeks ago and it seemed confusing to me.
Thorough review!

Not something for me, but a interesting idea that might really appeal to some.
Aw snap! When I read the title “Heritage Bible” I thought that it just might be a reissue if the 1984 NIV! Silly thought!
Oh, that would have been cool 😎!
I imagine only NIV?
And the NASB
Hum… interesting
Thanks for the review, but not for me. Seems to be junky, crowded and a bit inconvient.
LOL junky, that's a good way to describe the look of those pages where it goes back and forth.
Zondervan is just doing this to try to generate sales, not for any form of religious conviction.
To bad they leave out to much of the Bible is this book (non-bible). What a waste of time.
