I’m really enjoying this one Tony, and I don’t think you need to justify anything to anyone, and you’re dead right about already doing all different types of outdoor adventures and I’ve seen some of the really remote and challenging trips you’ve been on and why not enjoy a few creature comforts at your stage in life. You’ve got nothing to prove and for what it’s worth, I’m now in my mid 50s and having experienced many different outdoor adventures over the years I now mostly enjoy what makes me comfortable, intrigued and happy, and that’s what I do. Life’s too short to waste on listening to critics who probably haven’t experienced even half of the amazing things you have done. Keep up the great work Tony and I hope one day I can come over to enjoy wonderful NZ, especially as I only live here in Melbourne Australia and the places you visit look simply incredible. 2:10:18 -- You talking about hot tents and the need to see outside. I totally agree and have continued searching for ol Eureka tents that have windows on all sides (not hot tent). I, too, like the ability to see what is going on outside. I am a solo camper and female and I guess that is my reason.

Ha very nice video and entertaining. I'll have to watch some more of your snow camping adventures. You should get a stainless steel french press and a small coffee grinder. You already have the electric kettle which is perfect for it. Just stir it and let it steep for 6 minutes. It's much better than the drip style coffee makers and you don't have to stand at the side of your truck.

Oh and I just saw… you may want to put a pan of water atop the stove to stop that infernal splashing noise. Also has the added benefit of adding moisture to the air that might otherwise get very dry inside… 2 cents

Get a tin to put on the top of the fire place add alittle water and let the water just drip in the tin. It will steam and add moisture in the air So you don't dehydrate.

Your radiator needs to be flushed periodically as well as other fluids. They always overcharge for the extra services. Just say you only want an oil change and other fluids only checked
Omg i was there last year stayed in the tiny hone to the right and its dog friendly too, that drive was scary in my suv haha so beautiful in the snow we got it the last night we stayed .

There`s deer and wild pigs around the north and south islands but as for predatory animals there's only stoats and rats that are a threat to the native bird, reptile and frog population of New Zealand. So we don`t have the big predatory animals like in the sub continents of europe, africa, asia, australia, north and south america.
I would not be able to sleep if it kept dripping like that at night. I don't know how much you paid to stay there but given the unlevel parking, no proper outhouse or bathroom and just underwhelming persception of the place, I hope they at least gave you a partial refund.

They do make Hot Tents that have clear walls so you can see through.some that I have seen on the videos where the stove is far enough away
