    TL;DW:
1:58 Deconstruct the skill - break it down into individual sub skills
2:40 Learn about each skill - learn *just enough* about each subskill to start practicing
3:20 Eliminate barriers to success - barriers e.g. lack of motivation
3:55 Practice deliberately - until you’ve achieved prioritized goals
    Additional points:
4:25 Attempt to imitate the work of a master
    6:19 Find a teacher/ coach/ course - check out SkillShare
    8:02 Record your practice sessions

In the classical model, we use the framework called the trivium. All learning starts with the grammar stage (facts, overview, terms, key ideas, survey, timelines, etc.) then moves into the dialectic (practice, imitate, begin to create your own, make mistakes, refine, discuss, etc.), and ultimately the rhetoric (teach, originate, express). It's how we're designed to learn. I watch kids in our classical program move back and forth through these stages. Nothing new under the sun. But you did a great job breaking it down.

That backfill part is so true (at least for maths). When i was in high school I tried to learn Calculus, cause at the time I thought that there couldn't have much diference between highschool and college maths since it was just one after the other. That was the best thing I ever did. I started learning math on my own and discovering why math is so beautiful and even if there were some concepts I didn't understood I just backfilled them with my teachers. After that math became so simple and interesting. It changed my way of thinking about learning.
