Why is everyone suprised!. Both JV and RE had bad crashes not that long ago!. Only Pogi is in top notch condition.
That is what I said too b4 the TdF started. Jonas won't be able to be in top shape after the accident, but the Jonas supporters were telling me that he would be able to give Tadej a hard time and that the 3rd week he will improve while Tadej will crack.
Jonas says he is in the best shape he's ever been in and his metrics show it. He too broke all the doper era climbing records at this TdF. He just lost to a better rider with a stronger team.

We are watching history being made. I don't know that Jonas is that much slower than past years and that he might be in yellow if Pogi wasn't there and if he had his previous VL team. The strength of that team helped make the difference in 2022/23 when his fitness and Pogi's was too close to call. I chear and applaud Jonas' comeback and amazing accomplishments, but I've long been a huge pogi fan and hope he keeps his pattern of trying to win everything he can, just like Merckx did.

Saying Pog is doped is fair but what are the rest of his team doing? The whole of UAE would be on it and they're nowhere relative to him. To me it’s more likely that he is miles better as he was as a junior. Same with Remco. The outlier is Jonas. He goes from working in a fish factory to 7W/kg for 30minutes.
He was encouraged by his coach to work at the factory to help him build strength while training. However, there is no question that Podacar was the best prepared this year.
