These r so detailed, it's amazing. U are gonna make all sorts of cool things with this to put in your resin pieces for sure! Can't wait to see what u come up with!
Under the resin vat is a LCD screen that controls which pixels allow the UV light pass and which pixels do not. Any pixel receiving UV thru the screen and vat bottom glass solidifies the print resin. Any pixel staying dark stays liquid as well. Then the base is lifted one layer and the process repeated.
Here's my understanding of it. Imagine slicing an apple into 100 pieces horizontally. Then taking a photocopier, and making a copy of each slice, so each slice is on a separate page. The 3d printer will take 1 page at a time. It will closely examine the page (it's a b&w copy). The white space of the photocopy image is everything that is not a thin apple slice, and the black circle (of various sizes) is the apple slice. Once the 3d printer closely examines the page, it will look at it in the same way that a digital camera looks at a photo. When you look really closely at it, it's a small speck of dust. The 3d printer will reprint that same photocopied image onto the liquid resin - (which is called UV light or magic), it will then harden in the same way as caramel hardens on a candy apple. The 3d printer then takes another photocopied sheet of the sliced apple and makes another layer of caramel and lets it stick to the 1st layer, and when you look at it closely, you can see that this layer is slightly bigger. Since caramel takes a short time to harden, it makes it easy to make layers. If that explaination doesn't help, there is a RI Institution Christmas Lecture which covers how a 3d printer works. :)
Congrats on the new 3d printer. I love your Amazing hand crafted creations but I am sure this machine will help you in untold ways..... From your explanation, You are a smart man....
I never remove the resin from the vat after I print. I invert the box that the printer came in over the printer, to ensure that the resin never "sees" UV light, and I can keep the resin in the vat for months. I also sometimes cure the prints in place on the build plate with a UV flashlight if I want the prints to have a really shiny surface (be careful to clean all of the stray resin off of the build plate before you do this, or you will have difficultly cleaning the build plate).
also another question! why do you take the resin out and clean the tray? why not jsut leave the resin in for the next print? thank you for any help, great video by the way🙏
I am looking to buy this exact printer myself but i wonder, are the layer lines small enough not to be noticable by feel on wargaming size miniatures ?

When you use too much resin it creates a high temperature.
