The role of Vincent in Collateral as an villain is termed by many as the most terrifying pyschological villian of all time and it was played by Tom , himself. Moving with the fact that you only saw SRK movies, that's why your researched lacked on his acting genre. Yes, both are more accomplished actor but you forgot to mention the Oscar Best Actor Nominations, Tom Cruise got was for an non-action movie role, so that actually makes me question your research. I think the reason why SRK is loved so much is because of how relatable he is to the masses. He was a boy from a lower middle-class family who had big dreams in life. However, when reality hit hard, most of our "big dreams" get crushed, and only very few make it and that's what Srk did.

I believe, in terms of cultural impact, Tom Cruise is no lesser than SRK. Tom cruise revived tye Rayban sunglasses brand, after the success of Top Gun in 1986, US Nave had received staggering number of applications for joining the navy, and many often i feel that indian filmmakers have tried to mimic Tom Cruise using Srk. And there's no Tom cruise movie which is not enjoyable.

I strongly agree with the statement that SRK and Tom Cruise are the Last of The Stars. There is no other actors who I Can think off can pull mass audience with there charm. I strongly disagree with the fact that Tom Cruise plays the same type of role in all movies. I think you have just seen action movies of him. His portrayals were quite versatile in movies like Collateral, The Last Samurai, Tropic Thunder, Magnolia, Jerry Maguire, War of the Worlds, Eyes Wide Shut, Lions of the Lambs, Valkyrie, Rock of Ages. You should definitely check those out.
