Bought a polygon t8 surprisingly the fox 34 was dry and had no oil I had no idea till I rode it on the trails also found out the head tube had no lube so when you buy a polygon t8 make sure to lube it up before you ride 😅

Wow, that's pretty bad to hear! I hope to not have these issues with my factory 38 😀

Could you comment on the oil types and amounts for each side? It's a bit hard to understand what you are saying and I don't want to guess. Thank you!

Fox 20wt gold fork oil - 10ml in the air side. For the damper side he used 40ml of 5wt fox infused fork oil. But the 5wt has been recently discontinued and the fox 4wt fork oil is what fox has adopted and replaced the 5wt with. The 4wt is actually Motorex 4wt oil. You can still find the Fox 5wt but I’d go with the 4wt which is what I did. They can be mixed so don’t be worried about any residual 5wt that didn’t drain out.

Sorry for the late reply. Just check the Fox website here, referring to the bath oil link based on the year of your fork: tech.ridefox.com/bike/list/service-procedures

Great video. I’m in the process of doing the same on my Rhythm 34. Was thinking it would make sense to soak the damper side foam ring in the 5wt oil since that is what goes in that side. Otherwise you’re basically mixing two oils. Thoughts?

Honestly that's a good point, i checked the manual and probably this is outdated, since the fork in the example uses for both legs 20WT. So yes, you are absolutely right, you should use 5wt bath for the damper side foam ring!

@@OresteCiotoli thanks for responding. Glad what I was thinking makes sense. Now I just have to be smart enough to put the right foam ring in the right side!

Why no replacing of the oil in the air chamber at the top?

@@4091740 I'm doing that only in the longer air shaft service
