The freezer was free obviously. I probably spent $50 for the fan, dryer duct, foil tape, etc. I also went back later and put a plexiglass window on the top and put LED lights inside on the top.
did the air flow help keep smell down....I need to do a good job of keeping smell down on my set up..I'm try to make a parts list and figure out the best floor plans before I start hacking and cutting on my freezer
@@jakelundgren7933 not really. Its more for humidity. However I planned on running another dryer duct from the output hole to the outside of my shop if the smell got bad but it hasn't yet. The main thing I've found that helps is removing the brain and as much flesh as possible so that the beetles clean it before it starts to smell.
@@michaeljolley9550 to clean it you have to trap the beetles out, I just posted a video on how I do this. I honestly have no idea on the cost to heat it. Please subscribe I have more videos coming out!
Hey everybody thanks for watching this video! Please subscribe to my channel and check out the other taxidermy videos I have!
I made my beetle box (ice chest) by doing what you did. I just got my beetles a couple of months ago and they are growing and thriving. Thank you!
Awesome!
I used your video to make a similar Dermestiterium and it's been working great for over a year now!

What kind of fan do you use? CFM’s recommended? 110? 50? Thanks! Great video!

Hell of a nice job! How are they doing now?
Can you make a list of the parts for us to try it.
I no longer use beetles and have sold my enclosures.
@@OurTopPinLife why did you move away from using beetles?
Do I need to have this be at a certain temperature?
Yes. I don't use beetles anymore so I'm not the best to give advice on that.
