Lotta hate.. I have a bearded dragon, hes my pal, but this guy didn’t kill this one. He’s showing how to get a skeleton.. if its not your thing, dont watch.
As a beardie owner, I honestly don’t get the hate. It died of natural causes and this process is very similar to cremating a pet. Not only that but it’s good for the beetles as well.
This is just how nature does its thing. I find this very educational and I appreciate you making this video! Forgive me if I'm being silly for asking this, but could this also be a way for a dead animal to be completely a skeleton where it can be cleaned, sterilized, and be put on display as a sort of specimen? Edit: It looks like my question was answered. Nvm lol
I honestly find this practice really interesting and natural. Bodies decompose in the ground and theres nothing wrong with it. It's just the life cycle ❤
People, can you please stop ranting about this video, the pet died of natural cause okay, the man who feeded it, nutured it, cared for it, would kill his own pet for no reason?? The guy just wanted to preserve his pet so it could be in his side after it's dead.
the beetles scavenge the meat, so the body will not produce bacteria or spread deseases with time. also, the skeleton as our friend said, is for taxidermy, so its potentially educational
This is scary and educational at the same same time. I think people are upset because bearded dragons are kept as pets, and some people feel like they deserve a proper burial. Not being thrown into a container filled with beetles 😅 but it's still interesting. Just odd
hey dude, I have a bunch of specimens, I'm not sure what size of the carcass is too delicate. i have baby tree pythons and boas, tortoises and a few baby monitors too. even a large Asian water monitors. could you cover what types of specimens are ideal
Some of my videos I film my beetles inside. You can always tell because they are in a shrouded aquarium. If you see the inside of a chest freezer like this, that is my main colony and is in either a garage or a workshop.
Oh wow!! It makes me sad cause I hate seeing dead things, especially reptiles, but I must say this is pretty cool! The way those beetles broke down the bearded dragon like it was nothing is really amazing. Cool to know what happens underground when you bury a pet. I'm sorry for all the hate comments. I think people forget to read the description and if they don't want to see a dead animal they should not have clicked🤦♀️ besides, her soul is in heaven now, so it doesn't matter what happens to her body. Thanks for the cool video!!
to those complaining, these beetles get nutrients of a naturally deceised pet leaving a carcass that is the goal of this exercise, the way I see it it is actually much more respectfull than the alternative, which is using acid to disolve the meat and connective tissue, which is what they do at universities or for museums and so on, the beetles got a nice meal out of it
Good video, I can tell you put a lot of care into your work. Sorry for the hate comments you get, a lot of people seem uniformed. Keep up the good work though dude, you’ve earned a sub
i think the dislikes are from people that dont know how life really works. or maybe to sensitive people, i dunno exactly. for me is a way to respect the animal, his death body is now returning to nature, the cycle continues... in a way... no life being dies

As one death-hobbiest to another, very cool! We intend to taxidermy our rabbit, cat, and beardie when they pass. We'll be keeping the skins and bones. Our babies won't be needing them, but we will certainly appreciate having lasting momentos. This video is actually why we subscribed to you. Wild animals are super neat too, but working with pets and creating fascinating content, both video and end product, provides something more.
This is really cool! I loved the commentary, it's fun to know how you do what you do and what sort of time and care goes into a project like this. Can't wait to see more!
I have a leaf walking stick I would like to mount on a tree for display, can I use a flat clear spray on it to preserve it, or hairspray?
I think you're on the wrong channel.
Omfg haha, sorry no idea, just so random
Glad the beardie lived a good life!! I was sad and scared at first, but I'm glad the body is being put to a good use
First time watching a video from your channel, but the commentary is nice, I appreciate the added education rather than just watching the beetles
Welcome, and thank you.
Awesome! Ignore anyone who says you shouldn’t post stuff like this.
Ha, appreciate it 👊👊💀
Did you ever do the follow up with the finished product?
Edit: never mind I just saw the description
Super awesome vid. Thanks for sharing
damn beetles be enjoying that bearded-meat 🍖
Lotta hate.. I have a bearded dragon, hes my pal, but this guy didn’t kill this one. He’s showing how to get a skeleton.. if its not your thing, dont watch.
As a beardie owner, I honestly don’t get the hate. It died of natural causes and this process is very similar to cremating a pet.
Not only that but it’s good for the beetles as well.
At least it had a happy life. Mother Nature is so interesting
Nvm lol
how the tables have turned...
Indeed.

Oh how the turns have tabled...
Neat. I love youtubes random recommendations.
Really interesting! Thank you for your commentary!
Appreciate it! Subscribe for more 👊👊💀
Wow! Gentle, natural processes are incredible! And so fast. Thank you for sharing
Why so many Snowflakes? The bearded dragon naturally died, if your not mature enough to see this just gtfo it’s simple🤦🏽♂️
Hey bubba stfu and keep trying to defend the fact
Ur watching this weird shit school threat
People don’t have enough attention span to read a description now days and do what everyone else does , jump to conclusions and virtue signal.
For what purpose is the body given to the beetles? Just curious, never seen this done before
taxidermy. the beetles eat the flesh so you can keep the bones :)
the beetles scavenge the meat, so the body will not produce bacteria or spread deseases with time.
also, the skeleton as our friend said, is for taxidermy, so its potentially educational
To post on the internet and make people ask questions of course!
Do you have to remove the skin and or fur for mammals in order for the beetles to feed on the carcass properly?
It helps, for they do not eat scales, skin, or fur.
Was the head to hard for them to get through?
Yes, the head does not have much flesh at all. It is mostly comprised of boney osteoderms with a thin layer of tough skin.

Do you keep these inside? And how do you house them?
Some of my videos I film my beetles inside. You can always tell because they are in a shrouded aquarium. If you see the inside of a chest freezer like this, that is my main colony and is in either a garage or a workshop.
The new comments are destroying my brain cells.
You and me both. But every one they leave is a penny in my pocket 🤷♂️
So after a pet dies you let the beetles eat it so they get fed and the owner gets the bones of it so it doesn’t decay???
So he can mount the skeleton probably on the owner's request.
Omg I was NOT ready for what popped up
That's a very efficient and natural way of doing it. Nature is so interesting. I love running into these educational channels. Good narration too.
Thanks for the cool video!!
to those complaining, these beetles get nutrients of a naturally deceised pet leaving a carcass that is the goal of this exercise, the way I see it it is actually much more respectfull than the alternative, which is using acid to disolve the meat and connective tissue, which is what they do at universities or for museums and so on, the beetles got a nice meal out of it
*Takes note of this for the next time, a body needs to be disposed*
Feeding beetles to bearded dragons and now feeding bearded dragons to beetles... Irony!
"It's the cirrrrrcle of liiiiiiiife, and it moves us allllllll....."
Everything has a use in nature - this is pretty cool. Thanks for the vid
as a beardie owner and amateur taxidermist this is both so sad and interesting at the same time
We all start somewhere! The first piece I ever did was my beloved ball python that died.
@@FlockensNekroparlor mine was a mouse! i don't think i could ever do my own pet tbh
I watched this while looking at my beardie eat mealworms...
I saw your username and profile picture while looking at my hand type this reply...
Mealworms aren’t good for beardies
Ok it’s fine just letting you know not trying to be rude if it works for your dragon it works for yours just making sure
Gotta ask people; what do you think happens to dead people in coffins? Decay is inevitable. Learning from it is essential.
Cool vid man, quality content keep up the good work!
Nice video, keep it up 💯
As a beetle owner, this brought lots of joy to me. The bearded dragon lovers in these comments don't understand... Beetle lives matter!
Hope your beetles are beet to death, haha get it? Good.

Appreciate it 🤘💀🤘
Wow, that's really interesting - don't understand why so many dislikes!! Their skeleton is so cool and fragile looking!!
Appreciate it brother 👊👊☠
i think the dislikes are from people that dont know how life really works.
or maybe to sensitive people, i dunno exactly.
for me is a way to respect the animal, his death body is now returning to nature, the cycle continues... in a way... no life being dies
Man that was so sad and cool to watch, wana get my beardies preserved like this whenever they pass in the future
