#dude omg with all you know.. How could you just about murder that bearing .... Hitting it in the center you just about killed the center race . why didn't you take like a um 1" 1/2"' socket or a match the outter race...or even using that copper headed hammer would have been better ? No doubts you distorted the ball carriage also... UGH =P
Saul Good handles great everything can live through a couple love taps. And I don't have an inch-and-a-half socket here could you use a PVC fitting
That be a great #case #saul Goodman #bert verses #Timken on #judge #judy might a vid that goes #viral =P
Never know what to expect from you Bert but it's always an adventure sometimes educational laters
That's the plan can't get caught in a rut doing the same old thing
@@ScrapFarm at least y'all are getting some rain we still ain't got any
Try code in the Plastic with WD-40
Isn't that like just a temporary thing till it wears off I was trying to maybe cut and buff it and keep some wax on it I don't know I'll try something eventually
You ever purchase something and say who is the jack ass that worked on this before me.... Pipe wrenches, adjustable wrenches, sledge hammers...
Burt u work the same way I do hammer persuader and wd40 lol gets the job done everytime!
Just as i was going to ask you if you put that inner pipe in you said shit. Then that was that.....to funny
Wow
Always something to do no matter rain or shine later
Restore plastic with mothers mag and aluminum polish. Mainly used by those in the know for yellowed headlight plastic on your car. check out a youtube on mothers headlight fix.
Late to reply however, fill all those voids up with grease, everything condensates which leads to corrosion. Keep up the content. I'm heading for the same repair soon and wanted to visit the alumni at the good ole University of UA-cam
Hairspray is how I used to put grips on spray bar they slide right on then glue themselves there
Thank you sooo much !! Not gonna lie the screw driver in the sprocket truck in seconds! Magic thanks again!
Nice 👍 I’m taking mine apart right now and I didn’t know for sure if the disc holder was threaded or slipped on because it wonk move
Good stuff but no test ride? aaaaaaaw
Three days of rain..😭😭😭
all constructive criticism I hope you understand that Im old school and follow you religiously no no no not anti seize in there you want them sealed bearings to fit tight no lube of any kind if you wanta hit that bearing after its seated use the old bearing againt it NEVER hit the inner race please
Bert....have you never heard of a dead blow mallet??
Don't have one here it's at the shop

Been using the double wrench trick for years🔧🔧works great.
Do you like the new Ryobi batteries I’ve had them do some weird things on a cordless angle grinder
Good so far
You need to invest in a 1” knooter wrench. They are next to the Sky hooks & Board stretchers.
Your beekeeper did wheeler sometime back turn out great
LOL you got that can of lube setting there just a pipe would have been better to knock that out
clean up that mushroom head on that bar bert, dangerious
Hi Bert another great video nice content stay safe bro regard 👍💪💰❤️
Kansas rain all day today it be rain for 2 week and 3 day next week
I have a couple of questions Bert. I use Ryobi tools too. I got a one plus impact wrench for my bday and wondered what sockets you use with it? The Kobalt ones I have don't fit the wrench the opening is too small. I like my Ryobi tools and don't want to go buy something else that will require more different batteries. Let me know. Thanks
It sounds like you have the wrong size impact probably a 3/8 impact is what you have what I have is a half inch impact there is a difference
@@ScrapFarm thanks I'll check.
We broke it??? What is the WE stuff. I was just looking - didn't touch it.
Lol
wet sanding for plastic then clean and re-do it then get plastic spray in can and apply make sure to match the color then dry and wax n buff.
Yeah with #2200 grid or something other wise it a nightmare might as well use toothpaste or a baking-soda slurry that about the only kinda grit you really wanna use on plastic...
Put the tools down mate
Holy f#%k
Çok güzel video 250
Now take the axle back out and put the disc on it
Hit it with a torch plastic turns brand new
alot of work better get some enjoyment out of it
Get em wrapped
How's your roof holding up with all this rain? Remember a while back you were up there patching away. You caught a great sunset as I remember. Btw, love your Beauty Parlor chair! 😊
The house is okay the barn is a different story This thing always leaks a little bit
Bert! wear glasses when using a wire brush!
Hey Bert, Did you hear about Ryobi’s zero turn electric mower? I know you love Ryobi!
No gud, maybe would work for a 1/2 acre lot but no way for his 16 acres.
All that work now you got to take it out for a run around the yard have some fun. 👍👍😀🇨🇦
I am today. Its handling good
Something on a wet day to do...😄😄
#abs #Plastic #Star Brite!
hammer time...good job bert
Little bit of diesel fuel will shine em up
Great video. I'm not sure if I missed it but did you put that metal tube back in that goes between the bearings inside the carrier? Thanks
Yes
@@ScrapFarm Thank you.
Heat gun for the plastics. It will melt the imperfections and bring the luster back
It's a delicate operation
@@ScrapFarm that’s even better because it doesn’t melt it like torch. Just try it on an inconspicuous spot.
Great video
good video.
👍👍👍💜💚🧡🤗🥰
love it
"Getting a bit rusty in there, lucky we got to it now rather than later" , let's see 1984 to 2021 = 37 years, mmm, lucky we did not wait until 40 years to have a Bo - peep. Thanks Bert some of your mechanical video's convince me to pay the premium and get a professional to do it. Had a flat battery on my Ford Escape this morning and Auto membership attendee said he did not carry a 4044 battery but gave it a quick charge to get me where I was going and he said to ring up my Car membership later in the day and organize with them for a replacement battery.
Did so and the second bloke who turned up this afternoon with replacement battery was spitting chips because replacing a battery on a Ford Escape was a 45 minute job and he was most cranky with his associate who turned up earlier and did not carry that particular battery.
The interesting thing was that after installing the new battery and I then took it for a spin, I found half a dozen of the electrical gadgets. ( ie the thing that turns off you engine to save fuel when you stop at traffic lights) all suddenly started to work again, although my dealership could not get them working at last annual tuneup. My "Two bobs worth" says that due of the Covid *19, I have only traveled 5000 kilometres in last 12 months so various electrical gadget don't work after your battery amps are to low due to lesser charging. Wonder when the dealership will wake up to this fact. Now to find a professional dealership to do my next annual service. does such a place exist Bert.
Even though they are sealed units, why they did not put grease fittings also is beyond me!!! Turn the bar you were hammering around once you un stuck it on the second barring!!! Happy Holiday Sir!!!
Drill and tap that outer tube housing for a grease fitting. Take the inner seals out of the bearings.
Pump it full of grease.
Heck, I'd still do it while assembled. Grease the drill and tap while using, clean chips and re-grease to catch as many chips as possible. Enough grease pressure will still get it through the inner seals.
We used to use Pledge furniture polish on the plastics. Cheapest (Aquanet) hairspray for installing grips.
I use heat gun to liven my plastics back up. It brings the color back out and use plastic filler lightly and use the heat gun to fill it in the grooves/scratches. GO SLOW!! It will melt the plastic if u use too much heat
I enjoyed watching you work on this while cord stripping on time lapse! Nice work!
Guten Tag aus germanii 👍 👌 💪
Use a hot air gun to bring back the shine of the plastic parts.
Yupper it's tricky yet does work!
Dupro plastic paint. Works great. All your tools, you need a chain break. Great video Bert.
Was this the quad in a different video you see for sale on side of road
No
Light oil on a cloth or I'd say put some more material on it with some kind of spray maybe clear coat, then sand and polish. I wouldn't sand or wet sand that old paint right from the get, I bet it's real easy to go to deep . Try a couple methods on a small piece first then once you find one you like do the rest.
Bert, you should buy some emery cloth, it won't remove any metal to mention but it works really well for prepping shafts for the race and bearings, easy to use as well
Great job bert.Looks like your sprocket carrier bearing is gone.It makes the sprocket loose like that.
Should have put a greese fitting in the middle of the swing arm never have to bearing again
There sealed bearings
@@ScrapFarm yes I know greese nipple in where the spacer is you'll never have to change it again
@@hughbaker7597 so ...how is grease getting in a sealed bearing if ya don't take the seal out?? Lol
There is always something to learn from you BERT great 👍
Just for the record if'n you paint the exhaust I recommend Rust-Oleum Automotive High Heat Spray.. I have had great experiences using it on exhaust system !
I use ospho remove the rust then paint it..
Are you sponsored by " Croc's " Burt lol.
Should be I want one of those big ones that's like the size of this 3-wheeler
Here a dude made steal toe #crocs =P
ua-cam.com/video/IcjgrB9vTec/v-deo.html
I put a grease fitting in the center to grease them last longer
That way only last longer if you take the sealed bearing cover off on the inside
I do that same.. cuz of friction and the heat and melts the grease and it will pass thru the bearing seal
The ceramic coatings put a shine on the plastics
Hey you still have that teal chair , I see , it's nice
This video proves that not everyone should repair vehicles
Yeah, well, when you're a poor dirt farmer.... You really don't have any choices other than to do it yourself... I can tell you one thing. I won't be the one sitting there crying. Because nobody's helping me.
He did not put a new o-ring on the disc brake side on the axle. It is there to stop the water from rusting the axle
We can all be as good as you..... And how do you know I didn't off camera... You don't get to see everything... To tell you the truth, I don't even know if I did but whatever. I'm not planning on taking it in the water.... At this point the thing is in survivor condition... I will not be the one that takes it in the mud.
Use a Scott brit pads on the plastic
Hey Burt. Love the videos. I cringe when I see you beating on that mushroomed tool with no safety glasses on. I have a friend that lost one eye that way. It only takes a second for that end to chip off and get you.
