My pick for day 20 is Crisis? What Crisis? by Supertramp. The title entered everyday use a few years later when a British tabloid newspaper misquoted the then Prime Minister Jim Callaghan after he'd been spotted swimming in the Caribbean Sea while he was at an economic forum, while everybody in The UK was trying to survive widespread industrial action and freezing winter temperatures. The classic line up from when Roger Hodgson (guitars and keyboards) and Rick Davies (keyboards) still got on. Is it prog? Is it rock? Is it pop? Whatever it is, it's quite wonderful. No singles on it, but a collection of excellent songs with the two main men sharing lead vocal and song writing duties, some wonderful sax from John Helliwell and a superb, but understated rhythm section of Dougie Thompson on bass and Bob C. Benburg/Siebenburg (Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy's brother in law, fact fans. Scott came to The UK to join a band on Bob's recommendation, but I digress) on drums. Great production from Ken Scott, who had produced Bowie's Ziggy Stardust masterpiece. I always think of Supertramp as a 'late night ' band. Everybody else goes to bed, turn the lights down low, pour yourself a good single malt scotch and enjoy this most idiosyncratic band.
Today my pick #12 Is Styx Equinox, last album with founding guitarist John Curulewski, it’s a really good one. I have everyone of those except for the Charlie Daniels one, (nothing against Charlie) and I just never was a huge Who fan, they have a few songs that can't be touched but over all I never bought anything by them other than Quadraphenia album.

This is a fine album. I saw Kansas as an opening act to Queen in April of ‘75. Kansas made them sweat. Queen was fine in a different way, but they couldn’t match the intensity that Kansas brought that night. My favorite songs are: “Two Cents Worth”, “Icarus - Borne on Wings of Steel”, “Child of Innocence”, & “The Pinnacle” with its epic blend of swirling organ and scorching guitar. This is a great earlyKansas record !!

I know you said some other things were going on Very busy very cold up here in northern Wisconsin freezing my ass off in 30 below zero wind chills. So day 20 The Eagles one of these nights. Fantastic album continue on right where they left off on On the border same crew. Just like on the border many radio-friendly hits ready right off the bat once released. One of these nights still just a great 5 minute tune with that awesome Don Felder guitar solo in the middle. Love the sound he got out of that 56 fender Tweed amp. Lyin eyes still a fantastic song to this day. And I love after The thrill Is gone that's one of my all-time favorite Eagles songs. Nowadays at 55: time passes and you much move on half the distance takes you twice as long Two really good deep hard rockers pretty much FM ready but never released too many hands Randy laying down great vocals with Don felder's awesome acoustic guitar work. And visions. The most quirkiest one that was the almost progressive rock like furious banjo infused journey of the sorcerer. Something that comes totally on the left field when you hear the album. But the interesting thing is Douglas Adams would use it for the radio broadcast of the beginning of hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy for years. Of course the strange ending one I wish you peace which is kind of almost a throwaway but it's where Bernie leadon says goodbye and leaves the band

20) Queen - A Night At The Opera I became a fan of Queen the first time I heard "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Liar", from their 1973 self-titled debut, played on FM radio. I went out and bought that album, and I loved it. I was even more impressed by their subsequent releases, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack (both from 1974), so my expectations were high as I anticipated a fourth Queen album release in 1975. A Night At The Opera far exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could imagine. This brilliant album was the culmination of everything that Queen had accomplished up to that time. Under the guidance of producer Roy Thomas Baker the band embraced innovative and expansive production techniques, employing ambitious multi-tracking of vocal harmonies and instrumentation. This approach created a lush, rich sound that was unprecedented at the time, enabling them to blend influences as diverse as Hard Rock, Big Band Swing and Opera into a captivating work that balanced heavier moments with more refined sophistication. However, none of that would have mattered without the strength of the songwriting. All four band members contributed stellar and varied compositions - from Brian May's Prog Rock track "The Prophet's Song", featuring an entrancing choral section, to Roger Taylor's driving rocker "I'm In Love With My Car", and John Deacon's soulful and endearing hit single "You're My Best Friend". Then, of course, there's Freddie Mercury's magnum opus "Bohemian Rhapsody" - perhaps the most ambitious and unlikely song ever to top the charts. Its elaborate harmonies, enigmatic storytelling, and operatic theatricality set it apart, not only from the songs of its time, but from any in Pop music before or since. Remarkably, this track does not overshadow the album as a whole, but rather highlights its overall quality. A Night At The Opera's strength lies in its eclecticism, superbly supported by the dynamic, fully realized sound of Queen - shamelessly pompous, yet never pretentious, radiating playfulness and excitement, while delivering a wealth of jaw-dropping moments. A Night At The Opera is one of the best albums of the '70s (or ever) performed by one of the best bands of the '70s (or ever). Day 20: " Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" was released by Elton John on the MCA Records label in March of '75. I wondered why this album emerged at #1 upon it's release date, the stated reason being due to presold sales, but then I realized that the movie "Pinball Wizard" had just been released in the U.S in March of that year. This record stayed at the top spot on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks and reached platinum and then double platinum in '93.
Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic, 3rd album by the band from Boston, and what a classic it is. My 2nd favourite Aerosmith album (after Rocks), but it's a close 2nd. So many great songs, the fast and furious title track, the legendary Walk This Way and the fantastic Sweet Emotion are obvious highlights. Also love the seriously heavy Round and Round and gloriously over the top power ballad You See Me Crying.
Todays pick: Richard & Linda Thompson - "Pour Down Like Silver" Even though it`s not clearly stated lyrically, a strong sense of Richard`s spirituality permeates this album. The arrangements are spare, with Richard`s guitar playing being understated but expressive and Linda`s voice, as always, beautiful. Though a bit somber, songs like "For shame of doing Wrong", "Night Comes In", "Beat The Retreat", and "Dimming Of the Day/Dargai" still make an impact.
Hi Pete & everyone. Dave here. Excellent pick of yours, which comes up for me very soon. My pick today is MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE SNOW GOOSE by CAMEL. My favourite by the band, this mainly pastoral instrumental album based on the sad Paul Gallico story around the Dunkirk evacuation in WW2.. The band are mostly quite mellow here, save for a short war section. I'm a big fan of Andy Latimer's guitar, and so the title track is a real favourite. But the whole album just flows along beautifully.

The only request from this viewer is that you take care of yourself as well as the family during this time. Wasn't always so good about that at my end and makes it even more challenging. Now on to the music. Great SoT selection. Personal pick today? Going with one you picked during the first week this month. The fourth studio album by this American band released March 1 on the ABC label, Katy Lied by Steely Dan. Won't repeat the details you so eloquently put forth on your day. Will only say this was the first Steely Dan album I purchased. The oft-mentioned older brother had brought the previous three into the house. The loss of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter made an impact but this album has great songs nonetheless. It is almost the beginning - if not the actual start - of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker figuring out that the band was to be a studio band going forward. Like most albums of the band, every song brings some level of joy so not naming any songs. Just give the album a spin. Thanks, Pete. Sending you and your family wishes for the best.

I do not think you read these, but nevertheless Pete, I pray you have wisdom during this time. On a much lighter note, for day 20, #12, Led Zeppelin's PHYSICAL GRAFFITI. I think this is the first time I have ever keyed their name in on this channel. To be honest, a meh kind of group to me; but I have to give credit where it is due. A good sound record, all the way through.
Pick #12: Styx's Equinox. While not being an album I return to quite as much as The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight or Paradise Theatre, Equinox isn't too far behind in ranking and is a pretty fantastic Styx album. 12. Queen - A Night at the Opera Working my way back from News of the World (1977), which remains my favorite Queen album since I was a kid, I've always felt the rest of their catalog was frustratingly patchy. I did not, and never will appreciate their old-timey music hall style novelty numbers, of which there are three on this one. Perhaps it's to tie in with the reference of the Marx Brothers' 1935 film of the same title. However, the highlights on this albums are so glorious as to outshine the more workmanlike Styx's Equinox, for example. Come for the brilliant hits "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend," stay for "Death on Two Legs" and especially "The Prophet's Song." The sea shanty folk of "'39" and choral "Love of My Life" were not normally my wheelhouse, but they're undeniably well done and moving. This was the sound of Freddie Mercury's muse untethered, and it's a damn fun ride. Roger Taylor, via the biopic, asked, "How many more Galileos do you want?" All of them dear, we went them all. My pick for today is Heart - Dreamboat Annie. No doubt that these two sisters are magic women. They´re both insanely talented and heart-conquering gorgeous. Perfect genes for success. The two well-known songs ´Magic Man´ and ´Crazy On You´ but also deep tracks like ´Soul of the Sea´ ´White Lightning & Wine´ and ´How Deep It Goes´ are favorites.
Today’s pick- Siren - Roxy Music. Extremely well recorded and mixed. Sounds amazing on a good sound system. These guys were bringing some rocking funkiness with hooky melodies here. Great piano lines too. Paul Thompson is a solid powerful drummer. John Gustavson is a masterful bass player. Eddie Jonson shines. Quality songs/arrangements top to bottom - Whirlwind, Both Ends Burning, She Sells, Nightingale, Could it Happen are my favs. Check it out.

Day 20 / Pick # 12 = BLACK SABBATH - Sabotage. The expression "from adversity comes greatness" or something to that effect, applies to this album. Made under difficult circumstances while the band was ensnared in legal battles with various parties within the corporate music world, Sabbath rose to the occasion and delivered a fine slab of heavy rock. A study in riffology, and Ozzy singing up a storm, hitting in higher octaves with big energy, extended performances; this album is their best of the Ozzy era, to my tastes. Highlights: Megalomania; Hole in the Sky; and Symptom of the Universe.

Day 20 Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte Getting difficult now, this one for me not quite making the top ten. Anyway this album was made when Steve was still a member of Genesis (just) with the help of band mates Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford. Ace of Wands starts the album beautifully other highlights for me, Hands of the Priestess pt 1 and 2 and of course the epic Shadow of the Hierophant with the beautiful voice of Sally Oldfield.
Hi Keith, that’s a really good choice - it’s also one of Pete’s favourites. It hasn’t quite made my list but it would certainly be one of many honourable mentions this month.

My album pick for day 20 (in alphabetical order) is LED ZEPPELIN, “Physical Graffiti”. To be honest, I was hesitating to buy the album, after it came out in 1975. I have been kinda disappointed from the “Houses Of The Holy” album, as songs like “Over The Hills And Far Away”, “The Crunge” and “The Ocean” had not done anything to me. I guess I got Graffiti some years later when I had more financial possibilities, and after “Presence” had been released already (which I don’t have to this day, I only had a cassette copy from a cousin). Of course, “In My Time Of Dying”, “Kashmir” and “Ten Years Gone” and “In The Light” are great epic songs, but again there are some which I could have done without. Still a great album in its own right, without a doubt. I’m just not able to be at one with Pete, who called it his greatest double album of all time at Jan 1st (not even sure which one would take the royal dignity for me), but it is what it is. Monster album, Frank and I fully agree with hesitations after Houses Of The Holy. I am not into some of the tracks from Graffiti, but those you mentioned are my favorites too, Kashmir having a special place.

#12 Roxy Music - Siren Another album (the fifth) of elegant and sophisticated pop. Bryan Ferry's voice is decisive on the album. My favorite songs are the one that opens the album (Love Is The Drug), the power pop of 'She Sells', "End Of The Line" and "Both Ends Burning". After this album there would be a four-year hiatus. Hello everyone, and Happy Monday, especially if your children have now recovered from their 8 hour "t-t" Blackout. And, speaking of a blackout, that sort of brings me on to my pick for today, albeit quite a few years early. Hopefully, everyone will see this today as it appears several people missed my post yesterday, although I did get a handful of replies. Strange... Still, my pick for today is... SCORPIONS "In Trance" (RCA) This was an album of firsts for the band some more important than others. It was the first album to feature their soon-to-be-famous logo, the first of their albums with Dieter Dirks producing, the first of only 2 albums to feature Rudy Lenners on drums, the first album to focus entirely on a shorter, punchier hard rock approach with no long proggy epics and, lastly, the first of their album covers to feature a model suffering a wardrobe malfunction... More importantly, it has some cracking songs on it, and lays the blueprint for the success that would follow, domestically at first, then globally a few short years later. Dark Lady, Top Of The Bill, Robot Man, Sun In My Hand and the standout title track all spring readily to mind, with Uli Roth and Rudolf Schenker forming one of the best and earliest examples of the metallic twin lead guitar attack, ably accompanying Klaus Meine's instantly recognisable vocals. It's not my favourite of the Roth era Scorps albums, but that's not to belittle it in any way: it has made #12 on my list, after all...

My Day 20 pick is an album released on 3 October 1975 and recorded in April - 12 June 1975 at Shepperton Studios' soundstage (Shepperton, Surrey, England) using Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio and produced by Glyn Johns im talking about the seventh studio album by English rock band the Who, The Who by Numbers.The album cover, on which the band members' bodies are depicted as connect the dots puzzles, was drawn by John Entwistle. In 1996, when asked about the cover, he replied: "The first [piece of artwork] release[d] is The Who by Numbers cover, which I never got paid for, so now I'm going to get paid. (laughs) We were taking it in turns to do the covers. It was Pete's turn before me and we did the Quadrophenia cover, which cost about the same as a small house back then, about £16,000. My cover cost £32."After concluding the tour for the Quadrophenia album in June 1974, the Who took an extended hiatus and did not perform live for more than a year. John Entwistle kept himself occupied by playing solo gigs.[5] In addition, the band spent this time filming Tommy, based on their rock opera of the same title. This was the band's first album on Polydor. The sessions for The Who by Numbers began in April 1975 and continued through early June. Day20-Queen-A Night at the Opera. Probably Queen’s best album start to finish. Freddy’s killer vocals and Brian’s great riffs and lead work make this album special. Your my Best Friend and Bohemian Rhapsody are the staple songs on the album,but I like The Prophet’s Song. This is my number 20 pick.

Catch The Rainbow is my favorite track.
My pick for day 20 is Crisis? What Crisis? by Supertramp. The title entered everyday use a few years later when a British tabloid newspaper misquoted the then Prime Minister Jim Callaghan after he'd been spotted swimming in the Caribbean Sea while he was at an economic forum, while everybody in The UK was trying to survive widespread industrial action and freezing winter temperatures.
The classic line up from when Roger Hodgson (guitars and keyboards) and Rick Davies (keyboards) still got on. Is it prog? Is it rock? Is it pop? Whatever it is, it's quite wonderful. No singles on it, but a collection of excellent songs with the two main men sharing lead vocal and song writing duties, some wonderful sax from John Helliwell and a superb, but understated rhythm section of Dougie Thompson on bass and Bob C. Benburg/Siebenburg (Scott Gorham of Thin Lizzy's brother in law, fact fans. Scott came to The UK to join a band on Bob's recommendation, but I digress) on drums. Great production from Ken Scott, who had produced Bowie's Ziggy Stardust masterpiece. I always think of Supertramp as a 'late night ' band. Everybody else goes to bed, turn the lights down low, pour yourself a good single malt scotch and enjoy this most idiosyncratic band.

#12 Kansas - Masque
I had this coming up tomorrow, but I switched it to today. I agree with your review Pete. This is a fine album. I saw Kansas as an opening act to Queen in April of ‘75. Kansas made them sweat. Queen was fine in a different way, but they couldn’t match the intensity that Kansas brought that night.
My favorite songs are: “Two Cents Worth”, “Icarus - Borne on Wings of Steel”, “Child of Innocence”, & “The Pinnacle” with its epic blend of swirling organ and scorching guitar.

The Eagles one of these nights. Fantastic album continue on right where they left off on On the border same crew.
Just like on the border many radio-friendly hits ready right off the bat once released. One of these nights still just a great 5 minute tune with that awesome Don Felder guitar solo in the middle. Love the sound he got out of that 56 fender Tweed amp.
Lyin eyes still a fantastic song to this day. And I love after The thrill Is gone that's one of my all-time favorite Eagles songs. Nowadays at 55:

Two really good deep hard rockers pretty much FM ready but never released too many hands Randy laying down great vocals with Don felder's awesome acoustic guitar work. And visions.
The most quirkiest one that was the almost progressive rock like furious banjo infused journey of the sorcerer. Something that comes totally on the left field when you hear the album.
But the interesting thing is Douglas Adams would use it for the radio broadcast of the beginning of hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy for years.
Of course the strange ending one I wish you peace which is kind of almost a throwaway but it's where Bernie leadon says goodbye and leaves the band

20) Queen - A Night At The Opera
I became a fan of Queen the first time I heard "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Liar", from their 1973 self-titled debut, played on FM radio. I went out and bought that album, and I loved it. I was even more impressed by their subsequent releases, Queen II and Sheer Heart Attack (both from 1974), so my expectations were high as I anticipated a fourth Queen album release in 1975.
A Night At The Opera far exceeded my expectations beyond anything I could imagine. This brilliant album was the culmination of everything that Queen had accomplished up to that time.
Under the guidance of producer Roy Thomas Baker the band embraced innovative and expansive production techniques, employing ambitious multi-tracking of vocal harmonies and instrumentation. This approach created a lush, rich sound that was unprecedented at the time, enabling them to blend influences as diverse as Hard Rock, Big Band Swing and Opera into a captivating work that balanced heavier moments with more refined sophistication.
However, none of that would have mattered without the strength of the songwriting.
All four band members contributed stellar and varied compositions - from Brian May's Prog Rock track "The Prophet's Song", featuring an entrancing choral section, to Roger Taylor's driving rocker "I'm In Love With My Car", and John Deacon's soulful and endearing hit single "You're My Best Friend". Then, of course, there's Freddie Mercury's magnum opus "Bohemian Rhapsody" - perhaps the most ambitious and unlikely song ever to top the charts. Its elaborate harmonies, enigmatic storytelling, and operatic theatricality set it apart, not only from the songs of its time, but from any in Pop music before or since. Remarkably, this track does not overshadow the album as a whole, but rather highlights its overall quality.
A Night At The Opera's strength lies in its eclecticism, superbly supported by the dynamic, fully realized sound of Queen - shamelessly pompous, yet never pretentious, radiating playfulness and excitement, while delivering a wealth of jaw-dropping moments.
A Night At The Opera is one of the best albums of the '70s (or ever) performed by one of the best bands of the '70s (or ever). With this record, Queen set some remarkably high standards for Rock music.

Day 20: " Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy" was released by Elton John on the MCA Records label in March of '75. I wondered why this album emerged at #1 upon it's release date, the stated reason being due to presold sales, but then I realized that the movie "Pinball Wizard" had just been released in the U.S in March of that year. This record stayed at the top spot on the Billboard 200 for seven weeks and reached platinum and then double platinum in '93.

Aerosmith - Toys In The Attic, 3rd album by the band from Boston, and what a classic it is. My 2nd favourite Aerosmith album (after Rocks), but it's a close 2nd. So many great songs, the fast and furious title track, the legendary Walk This Way and the fantastic Sweet Emotion are obvious highlights. Also love the seriously heavy Round and Round and gloriously over the top power ballad You See Me Crying.

Todays pick: Richard & Linda Thompson - "Pour Down Like Silver" Even though it`s not clearly stated lyrically, a strong sense of Richard`s spirituality permeates this album. The arrangements are spare, with Richard`s guitar playing being understated but expressive and Linda`s voice, as always, beautiful. Though a bit somber, songs like "For shame of doing Wrong", "Night Comes In", "Beat The Retreat", and "Dimming Of the Day/Dargai" still make an impact.

Hi Pete & everyone. Dave here. Excellent pick of yours, which comes up for me very soon. My pick today is MUSIC INSPIRED BY THE SNOW GOOSE by CAMEL. My favourite by the band, this mainly pastoral instrumental album based on the sad Paul Gallico story around the Dunkirk evacuation in WW2.. The band are mostly quite mellow here, save for a short war section. I'm a big fan of Andy Latimer's guitar, and so the title track is a real favourite. But the whole album just flows along beautifully.

The only request from this viewer is that you take care of yourself as well as the family during this time. Wasn't always so good about that at my end and makes it even more challenging. Now on to the music. Great SoT selection. Personal pick today? Going with one you picked during the first week this month. The fourth studio album by this American band released March 1 on the ABC label, Katy Lied by Steely Dan. Won't repeat the details you so eloquently put forth on your day. Will only say this was the first Steely Dan album I purchased. The oft-mentioned older brother had brought the previous three into the house. The loss of Jeff "Skunk" Baxter made an impact but this album has great songs nonetheless. It is almost the beginning - if not the actual start - of Donald Fagen and Walter Becker figuring out that the band was to be a studio band going forward. Like most albums of the band, every song brings some level of joy so not naming any songs. Just give the album a spin. Thanks, Pete. Sending you and your family wishes for the best.

I think this is the first time I have ever keyed their name in on this channel. To be honest, a meh kind of group to me; but I have to give credit where it is due. A good sound record, all the way through.
Pick #12: Styx's Equinox. While not being an album I return to quite as much as The Grand Illusion, Pieces of Eight or Paradise Theatre, Equinox isn't too far behind in ranking and is a pretty fantastic Styx album. Many thoughts and prayers to the Pardo family during this difficult time.

12. Queen - A Night at the Opera
Working my way back from News of the World (1977), which remains my favorite Queen album since I was a kid, I've always felt the rest of their catalog was frustratingly patchy. I did not, and never will appreciate their old-timey music hall style novelty numbers, of which there are three on this one. Perhaps it's to tie in with the reference of the Marx Brothers' 1935 film of the same title. However, the highlights on this albums are so glorious as to outshine the more workmanlike Styx's Equinox, for example. Come for the brilliant hits "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "You're My Best Friend," stay for "Death on Two Legs" and especially "The Prophet's Song." The sea shanty folk of "'39" and choral "Love of My Life" were not normally my wheelhouse, but they're undeniably well done and moving. This was the sound of Freddie Mercury's muse untethered, and it's a damn fun ride. Roger Taylor, via the biopic, asked, "How many more Galileos do you want?" All of them dear, we went them all.

Today’s pick- Siren - Roxy Music. Extremely well recorded and mixed. Sounds amazing on a good sound system. These guys were bringing some rocking funkiness with hooky melodies here. Great piano lines too. Paul Thompson is a solid powerful drummer. John Gustavson is a masterful bass player. Eddie Jonson shines.
Quality songs/arrangements top to bottom - Whirlwind, Both Ends Burning, She Sells, Nightingale, Could it Happen are my favs. Check it out.

20. Bad Company - Straight Shooter
This is a perfect follow-up to their legendary self-titled debut. Great batch of tunes!
Day 20 / Pick # 12 = BLACK SABBATH - Sabotage. The expression "from adversity comes greatness" or something to that effect, applies to this album. Made under difficult circumstances while the band was ensnared in legal battles with various parties within the corporate music world, Sabbath rose to the occasion and delivered a fine slab of heavy rock. A study in riffology, and Ozzy singing up a storm, hitting in higher octaves with big energy, extended performances; this album is their best of the Ozzy era, to my tastes. Highlights: Megalomania; Hole in the Sky; and Symptom of the Universe.

Day 20 Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte
Getting difficult now, this one for me not quite making the top ten.
Anyway this album was made when Steve was still a member of Genesis (just) with the help of band mates Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford.
Ace of Wands starts the album beautifully other highlights for me, Hands of the Priestess pt 1 and 2 and of course the epic Shadow of the Hierophant with the beautiful voice of Sally Oldfield.

LED ZEPPELIN, “Physical Graffiti”.
To be honest, I was hesitating to buy the album, after it came out in 1975. I have been kinda disappointed from the “Houses Of The Holy” album, as songs like “Over The Hills And Far Away”, “The Crunge” and “The Ocean” had not done anything to me. I guess I got Graffiti some years later when I had more financial possibilities, and after “Presence” had been released already (which I don’t have to this day, I only had a cassette copy from a cousin).
Of course, “In My Time Of Dying”, “Kashmir” and “Ten Years Gone” and “In The Light” are great epic songs, but again there are some which I could have done without. Still a great album in its own right, without a doubt. I’m just not able to be at one with Pete, who called it his greatest double album of all time at Jan 1st (not even sure which one would take the royal dignity for me), but it is what it is.

Hello everyone, and Happy Monday, especially if your children have now recovered from their 8 hour "t-t" Blackout. And, speaking of a blackout, that sort of brings me on to my pick for today, albeit quite a few years early.
Hopefully, everyone will see this today as it appears several people missed my post yesterday, although I did get a handful of replies. Strange...
Still, my pick for today is...
SCORPIONS "In Trance" (RCA)
This was an album of firsts for the band some more important than others. It was the first album to feature their soon-to-be-famous logo, the first of their albums with Dieter Dirks producing, the first of only 2 albums to feature Rudy Lenners on drums, the first album to focus entirely on a shorter, punchier hard rock approach with no long proggy epics and, lastly, the first of their album covers to feature a model suffering a wardrobe malfunction...
More importantly, it has some cracking songs on it, and lays the blueprint for the success that would follow, domestically at first, then globally a few short years later.
Dark Lady, Top Of The Bill, Robot Man, Sun In My Hand and the standout title track all spring readily to mind, with Uli Roth and Rudolf Schenker forming one of the best and earliest examples of the metallic twin lead guitar attack, ably accompanying Klaus Meine's instantly recognisable vocals.
It's not my favourite of the Roth era Scorps albums, but that's not to belittle it in any way: it has made #12 on my list, after all...

My Day 20 pick is an album released on 3 October 1975 and recorded in April - 12 June 1975 at
Shepperton Studios' soundstage (Shepperton, Surrey, England) using Ronnie Lane's Mobile Studio and produced by Glyn Johns im talking about the seventh studio album by English rock band the Who, The Who by Numbers.The album cover, on which the band members' bodies are depicted as connect the dots puzzles, was drawn by John Entwistle. In 1996, when asked about the cover, he replied: "The first [piece of artwork] release[d] is The Who by Numbers cover, which I never got paid for, so now I'm going to get paid. (laughs) We were taking it in turns to do the covers. It was Pete's turn before me and we did the Quadrophenia cover, which cost about the same as a small house back then, about £16,000. My cover cost £32."After concluding the tour for the Quadrophenia album in June 1974, the Who took an extended hiatus and did not perform live for more than a year. John Entwistle kept himself occupied by playing solo gigs.[5] In addition, the band spent this time filming Tommy, based on their rock opera of the same title.
This was the band's first album on Polydor. The sessions for The Who by Numbers began in April 1975 and continued through early June. The album was released in October and the band supported it with a tour, which spanned some 70 concerts before concluding in the autumn of 1976.
For the album's recording, the band recruited producer Glyn Johns. The band had worked previously with Johns on the 1971 album Who's Next. Compared to previous Who albums, The Who by Numbers took an unusually long time to complete (as noted above, nearly three months) and was marred by numerous breaks and interruptions due to the band members' growing boredom and lack of interest. It features some of the darkest songs ever recorded by the band. Only the songs on the first side of The Who by Numbers were performed live, and only "Squeeze Box" became a concert staple. "Imagine a Man" was performed live for the first time by the band in May 2019,[6][7] nearly 44 years after its release. Pete Townshend has claimed that the band recorded practically every song he had written for The Who by Numbers, partially due to a writer's block that he was experiencing at the time.[3] The songs on the album were, for the most part, more introspective and personal than many other songs that the band had released. Townshend's 30th birthday occurred in May 1975; he was troubled with thoughts of being too old to play rock and roll and that the band was losing its relevance.[4] He began to feel disenchanted with the music industry, a feeling that he carried into his songs.

Day20-Queen-A Night at the Opera. Probably Queen’s best album start to finish. Freddy’s killer vocals and Brian’s great riffs and lead work make this album special. Your my Best Friend and Bohemian Rhapsody are the staple songs on the album,but I like The Prophet’s Song. This is my number 20 pick.

After hearing LaGrange and Tush on the radio, ordered this album from Columbia House. As said by many on here, a pretty good mix of live and studio songs that kick butt. Heard it on the X hands down, badass slide guitar.
