The way you tell these stories is just wonderful, Chris, I can just picture myself sitting around a camp fire with a bunch of folks listening to you!
The more squatch stories I hear, the more I get the impression they just want humans to leave them alone because most people don't respect them or nature, but they don't mean anyone any harm. However, some squatches seem to like eating people, so who knows what's really going on.

I hear you. Where we lived in Southern California, our neighborhood was in the middle of orange groves that stretched for miles all around and west to the Santa Ana mountains, where we could camp in real forests. Sometime - and I think it was between 1980 and 1990 - all the groves disappeared and suddenly we were in the middle of suburbia. I miss the old neighborhood and camping in the Santa Anas.

Animals can sound very different from what we expect. I lived near a stream, and a female mallard chose that location. She then spent three days calling her mate. It sounded like a rusty hinge. For whatever reason I took another route home that last day, and got to see the pair flying together. The rusty hinge call worked!

One thing i have heard about that i don't believe is sasquatch, but rather some other entity, is when people are in the forest and hear a child's laughter or crying. The ones who go to follow this sound always say that the sound remains at the same distance away from them no matter what speed they are going. When they begin to feel they are being led deliberately deeper into the forest, most of these people stop and retreat back where they came from.

I must say Chris, in UK where we are, it hasn't been very cold. We have not had a frost yet. When I was working (in South Africa) my boss's son went into the bush in Botswana doing survey work with a few of our guys. When he got back he said he had been in his sleeping bag in a small tent and heard a lion sniffing around. He tried to calm himself and then the lion stuck its head into the flap, looked and sniffed then backed out! Curious cat.

One thing that I've always wondered about since I was a kid, growing up with grand parents and my dad that hunted is that I've never heard of people finding the remains of moose, elk, bears or big animals just out in the woods. Even when animals eat each other they still leave some type of remains behind. My kids and me are avid hikers and we never see anything but small bones from the likes of jack rabbits, etc. Maybe we never find them because it's these creatures eating them up?

I'm from West Virginia and we see dead animals all the time

But do you hike off trail and into random places? Animals aren’t going to hangout or die along a trail, I’ve found fox skulls and deer bones/skulls just adventuring in random areas were people don’t go, and like others are saying animals eat bones too, I’ve camped out plenty of time by myself and never seen nothing besides rattlesnakes and deer

@@ByGraceIGo Ok cool, I actually meant that message towards the original commenter cause they said they never seen bones, I read your other message earlier and you said about finding random parts or animals, and ya that’s normally how it goes, so I figured you already explore

Good Evening Chris, Just got back from the RV lot looking for a tag along pop up to go camping with...And while I was waiting I saw one of your stories come up on my phone...had to wait till I got home to see your video..
I Really like your Stories, wish you had some from Arizona..
I bet Alex was petrified and wanted to leave as soon as possible and happy that his father had a firearm to protect them.
I would like to see a Sasquatch (from a distance though) someday..
You are one Brave Guy to be out in the forest, walking out in the dark...
    Love the Stories, though..
Stay Safe and as you say:
    KEEP HIKING!!
