I am 49 years old but I feel like a little kid sitting in front of you listening to you tell a story. 😁 We need to find you a nice warm place this winter for your story telling
I AGREE…! Throw in a camp fire, s’mores,: GREAT TIME!! 👍🏼👍🏼👣👠
Agreed, I'm over 50 and get the creeps listening to this late at night I gotta turn on lights, even though I'm on the 3rd floor lol
Its cool aint it 🤠 Happy 4th July 🇺🇲🇺🇲🥧🍻
I know this comment is 11 months old now so im late lol im just binge watching his older stories waiting on his story for tomorrow lol but Chris has a place out back at his house he calls base camp it's like his man cave I reckon lol but he tells stories from in there sometimes in the warmth lol
I’m 71. He’s great 😊
I really appreciate that the gentleman left the sandwich. Seems very respectful.
Great story, Chris.
I was cruising around UA-cam and ran into several other podcasts where they read stories too. However, I couldn’t finish!! I’m spoiled because you tell the best, and it’s the way you tell them. Can’t be beat.
Go check out Buckeye Bigfoot. Miss Nance tells some pretty great ones too. But gotta just love Chris!! He is unique in his way of storytelling
Dixie Cryptid is a pretty good storyteller too..
The way you tell these stories is just wonderful, Chris, I can just picture myself sitting around a camp fire with a bunch of folks listening to you!
The more squatch stories I hear, the more I get the impression they just want humans to leave them alone because most people don't respect them or nature, but they don't mean anyone any harm. However, some squatches seem to like eating people, so who knows what's really going on.
Squat he’s like eating people? Do tell
@@mikeandrews1899 haha… I hope you find the real truth for yourself…
@@mikeandrews1899If you access the right channels you will find out that there are thousands of people who have had encounters with them over the years. There is no way that all of them are lying. Some people are even interacting with them. Does the goverment acknowledge them? No.
@@utebrown1365 All will soon be revealed...then you can say "ha ha in return"
@@mikeandrews1899 I have never seen one in all my 53 yrs,but I do believe they are out there, just from hearing of encounters from very honest people, who has done the same, hunted the woods all their life, never believed, and then one day get a scare of their life.
That was very smart to leave him food and speak to him. That is rare.
Me and my husband absolutely love your stories. And we love that you tell them out door's. Always stay safe. Jesus loves you.
Shut up patty
@@bicklesby1 Feeling left out.. Jesus loves you too.
@@pattyrogers9871 you're a toad patty
Jesus's patience is unimaginable!
Thank you Chris. Always a pleasure hearing your stories, and seeing where you are hiking to. Take care.
👍
Another great story...! I'd like to share one with ya that actually happened to my Dad while camping with a group of friends back in the 50's... Thanks for sharing and as always please keep em comin...!
Hi Chris thanks from Australia 🇦🇺
Awesome as always 👏
Congratulations on your weekly Sunday uploads since March 👏 These stories are my daughter 5yrs old and mine favorite, we rewatch them over & over bc we cannot get enough. My daughter remembers them off by heart "mom now the geese are going to come!" Thank you so much. Keep them coming!!!
I’ve been waiting for this, thanks for posting 👍😁
No problem 👍
Chris, I am over the road truck driver. I enjoy listening to your UA-cam videos as I drive down the road. I’m sure glad youtube has the auto play so I can sit back and relax.
The woods I grew up in are all gone and replaced with McMansion developments. Id love to be able to roam them again, and am happy for you that you got some nostalgic time in your old stomping grounds. Thanks for another great story Chris!
Thank you - It's hard when the land you hung out in is gone...I get it... Keep Hiking!
I hear you. Where we lived in Southern California, our neighborhood was in the middle of orange groves that stretched for miles all around and west to the Santa Ana mountains, where we could camp in real forests. Sometime - and I think it was between 1980 and 1990 - all the groves disappeared and suddenly we were in the middle of suburbia. I miss the old neighborhood and camping in the Santa Anas.
G'day Chris 🍻 cheers from aus
Chris~ I'm sure you've heard it quite a bit by now, you are an EXCELLENT storyteller! It is an art and you sir are quite the artist! It comes through in your stories and in your video work & editing! Thank you so much for bringing us along with you on these adventures! I truly look forward to getting off work every Sunday night, cozying with some hot soup or a warm cup of coco or tea and watching your weekly story! I'm up in Alaska and I def believe in bigfoot! I love hearing about sasquach encounters and other spooky/strange stories! Thanks for being awesome! Sending all the love! Kimberly
Thank you Kimberly Appreciate it. c
What a way to finish a week. Another great story, thanks Chris 🙌🏽
Notification of your video came at the perfect time! Driving a semi down the interstate. Love listening to your stories while I drive. (Much better than the radio)
Awesome_ Keep On Truckin!
@@basecampchris what type of camera do you use to film your videos?
That's the best time to listen to em! Or before I'm going into the woods to hunt lol!
Animals can sound very different from what we expect. I lived near a stream, and a female mallard chose that location. She then spent three days calling her mate. It sounded like a rusty hinge. For whatever reason I took another route home that last day, and got to see the pair flying together. The rusty hinge call worked!
One thing i have heard about that i don't believe is sasquatch, but rather some other entity, is when people are in the forest and hear a child's laughter or crying. The ones who go to follow this sound always say that the sound remains at the same distance away from them no matter what speed they are going. When they begin to feel they are being led deliberately deeper into the forest, most of these people stop and retreat back where they came from.
You're a great story teller! Your stories are so creepy and scary and I love watching you night time before bed, its like watching a scary movie. Be safe and keep the stories coming. Oh and keep hiking!😊
Yay! Been waiting for a video from you 😎
Yay! Thank you!
I must say Chris, in UK where we are, it hasn't been very cold. We have not had a frost yet. When I was working (in South Africa) my boss's son went into the bush in Botswana doing survey work with a few of our guys. When he got back he said he had been in his sleeping bag in a small tent and heard a lion sniffing around. He tried to calm himself and then the lion stuck its head into the flap, looked and sniffed then backed out! Curious cat.
Lynne, when I lived in South Africa I read the experiences of Peter Hathaway Capstick, who was a white hunter. Your friend was very lucky indeed.
They just need to see who or what is in there! ..,
Blessed like Daniel in the Lions Den! Thank God!
Curiosity killed the cat
Gosh golly dang!
I live right by the Ohio River so I can just look cross and see Wv this story makes me think about how a Bigfoot could be in the woods around me. Great story 👏 Thanks for all your work 😉
Another great story. Thanks Chris
Glad you enjoyed it
As a fellow Mountaineer, there’s definitely some strange things in our bottomless hollows…
Its called Meth and Crack
@@buzz5969 the zombies are in the cities…not a lot in the country…but there are a select few. And those take it to the highest levels of zombie-ness

When you get in southern Appalachia (AppaLATCHah), those drainages are called 'hollers', I don't know what they call them up north.
Anyway, enjoyed the story as always, keep'em coming!
Another great recant from you. I really enjoy your stories. Thank you for these Chris.
Thank you for another fun and creepy story. I love your channel and look forward to your stories every Sunday! Thank you.
I had an encounter with something that made that same sound in Kentucky
I had never heard that sound before
Then the creature charged us and we had to flee
We never saw what it was but it was huge
I was born in Southern WV in Princeton WV. My parents moved us when I was 8 but we returned to visit family and now we visit cemeteries. I never heard my Dad, who was born and raised on a farm talk about anything unusual.
WV is certainly beautiful. Good story and video.

Oh you got me on that one.😬 I would want to avoid places where ginseng naturally occurs. I’d say only hunt where chamomile is available-and not for the people.
Love the way you narrate a story.

Thank you! Will do!
Hi Chris, my sister and I love your true scary stories so much !!! Thx for making these videos !!! Stay safe !!!!
One thing that I've always wondered about since I was a kid, growing up with grand parents and my dad that hunted is that I've never heard of people finding the remains of moose, elk, bears or big animals just out in the woods. Even when animals eat each other they still leave some type of remains behind. My kids and me are avid hikers and we never see anything but small bones from the likes of jack rabbits, etc. Maybe we never find them because it's these creatures eating them up?
I'm from West Virginia and we see dead animals all the time
But do you hike off trail and into random places? Animals aren’t going to hangout or die along a trail, I’ve found fox skulls and deer bones/skulls just adventuring in random areas were people don’t go, and like others are saying animals eat bones too, I’ve camped out plenty of time by myself and never seen nothing besides rattlesnakes and deer
@@ByGraceIGo Ok cool, I actually meant that message towards the original commenter cause they said they never seen bones, I read your other message earlier and you said about finding random parts or animals, and ya that’s normally how it goes, so I figured you already explore
@@ByGraceIGo Epan here too. Wish you the best my brother
Your channel is one of my favorites! Thanks for the hard word to give us amazing stories and fun adventure.
Love your stories 😊 Thank you Chris for entertaining us every Sunday ☺️ I will look forward to the next one 👍

Good Evening Chris, Just got back from the RV lot looking for a tag along pop up to go camping with...And while I was waiting I saw one of your stories come up on my phone...had to wait till I got home to see your video..
I Really like your Stories, wish you had some from Arizona..
I bet Alex was petrified and wanted to leave as soon as possible and happy that his father had a firearm to protect them.
I would like to see a Sasquatch (from a distance though) someday..
You are one Brave Guy to be out in the forest, walking out in the dark...
