The saggy bottom is easily fixed with a base shaper and thankfully the hair thing has never happened for me. The Gucci 1955 Horsebit bag literally rips some of my hair out each time I use it though, so I know how annoying it can be.

I have four Stella McCartney Falabellas and i love ALL of them, for different reasons. granted- most of them are tiny/mini bags so i don't have issues with structure/ sagging much, but i do have a taupe foldover and basically everything you said is true, especially for the bigger falabellas- the noise, and weird shapelessness, heavy chain issues (actually mine is due for repair because the stupid chain broke, literally, i feel like the heaviness of the bag works against itself), but i originally got this bag to use it as an oversize clutch/ pillow/ cuddle buddy because I love that look- it's like pre-cloud bag

Yes, the larger tote is less slouchy, especially with items in it. It comes with a wallet on a chain inside so I keep my most-used cards in there and who doesn't use their phone to pay anymore these days? There is a phone holder in there too!

The YSL Lou camera bag is my favorite bag. There are so many colors and it holds so much more than I thought it would. I got it two price increases ago and I’m so glad I did. Brilliant bag.
I bought a Balenciaga City bag recently. Mock croc. The quality of the leather, zip, lining and bright yellow gold hardware was shockingingly bad! I returned it immediately. I then bought an Aspinal of London bag at a quarter of the price, and the quality is ten times better!! Lovely leather and finishing, champagne gold hardware. Great zip etc.
As always I really enjoyed watching and learning. Thanks! The Stella McCartney bag may look better in real life but on camera i thought it looked a tad like something from a market stall.
I remember another UA-camr saying that the Stella McCartney bag was so noisy it sounded like she was being followed down the street by a goat herd. That really made me laugh. I mostly don’t like it because it looks like a cheap and nasty mess. I like the look of the Boy bag but so many people have had bad experiences with it that it will never be on my wish list.

I just bought a Prada bucket bag. It’s my first luxury bag, and I love it! On my list is a Lady Dior, and I had been considering the mini because I don’t carry much. This video was very helpful because now I’m thinking a larger size may be less frustrating even though I don’t need the room. I had a similar experience with a Kate Spade bag in a small size. I love the bag, but is frustrating to use.
Thank you Sophie. Great advice. You are right, we need to own and use a bag for a while before we can notice all the downsides. It took me years to get there, now I know exactly, which styles are with buying. Happy Holidays.
I have the boy bag in a blue color, I think calfskin. It does squeeze the bag a bit but I have an organizer in mine so no sag. The chain has never gotten caught in the chain but I do mostly wear my hair up because that’s how I prefer it. So I love my boy amd no corner problems so far. Thanks for this vid Sophie!
Thanks for this great feedback and advice. I refuse to save up for an Hermès Birkin or Kelly because they look so fiddly to open and close. In fact, the women who have them tend to leave the bag unlatched all the time.
I think the larger Birkins should come with the organizer box inserts. It’s a shame when they get all lumpy and misshapen. Not a good look when they lose their shape.
It's nobody is closing the bag.. On if it's resting on the shelf.. Such a hassle to open and close. and you need to place it on a flat surface. You need 2 hands to do it. So on tge end it's an fully open tote bag.. Just like the basket, Jane Birkin was complaining about 😅
You are very nice Sophie! Even though I can't afford designer bags, you are very relatable, and genuine. Ps the picture you showed of yourself towards the beginning of you're vlog, which was when you went out and you were wearing a black blazer dress, you looked fab! Happy Christmas 🎄 to you and David x
Aw, I love the look of Chanel boy bag, I think more than the classic flap to be honest-regardless of the corners or squishiness/sagginess haha. I'm so indifferent about bucket bags though, I can't tell if I like them or not!
One of your best video of 2021 Sophie. I'm so glad you are sharing the reality of owning these expensive handbags. I had to sell my original Fendi Peekaboo. The clicking noise of hardware, heaviness, and awkwardness of center divider drove me nuts.
I ALMOST bought the Stella McCartney a few years ago. But I immediately noticed the collapsing of the lining and realized how difficult it would be for everyday running around. However...Do you think an organizer would help? I use organizers for my Hermes and a few of my LV's. I wonder if that could be a solution for this bag. I still like it. Thanks Sophie!
I have the smaller version and love it. I do use a large wallet inside which I think helps with keeping the shape. Also, mine isn't metallic like Sophie's so mine doesn't make crinkly sounds.
I love mine. But you could appreciate right away it’s a slouchy bag. It’s the style and look of that design. I have not used an organizer but that’s a good idea to try.
@@ayb480 I have a smaller version too and it functions perfectly. Have two 10x10x1,5cm wallets in it…I don’t know why but I have zero issue with sound nor shape of the bag staying as intended. I love it!
I've got the Alma BB and the YSL and while I can also vouch that they are great day bags, I had strap issues with both of them as I'm quite short. I got a cobbler to punch me a few extra holes in the YSL strap and now it's super versatile, and I tend to use an adjustable Coach strap with my Alma if I'm not carrying it top handle.
Hi Sophie, lovely vid as usual! I went into the local prada boutique about 2 weeks ago, im quite certain that bucket bag is no longer under £1k. I have some bags/slg under men’s line under various brands as they seem better priced and just generally cool looking. Or just more understated designs. Definitely more bag for your money ✌🏼
I have a recent model and I feel like they might have fixed the noise issue because I don't have that problem. I does look saggy when empty though, it's a good everyday bag for someone who brings a lot of stuff with them.
I have a small boy (equivalent to the mini classic flap size) and love it! The different size and strap drop help avoid the saggy bottom. My hair occasionally does tangle, but I find it does with other chain straps. As for corner wear, the newer versions is caviar are a bit hardier. I wouldn't recommend getting it in lamb. Also got mine in ruthenium back in 2016 and haven't noticed any issues with the hardware.
I bought Stella’s small Falabella that I got from Farfetch this year and don’t have the sound/noise at all. 99% of the time I keep the longer strap/chain inside the bag (which I guess would make some noise but I haven’t worn it “outside” the bag) unless I need to free my hands to carry something else, then I wear it crossbody. For me it’s a 10/10 experience.
Another great video! and at the perfect time. I don’t do chain bags because they always tangle my hair; very annoying. Also, clear colored bags tend to get color transfer in spite of any measure to avoid it.
I work hard saving up for my bags -- once I get them, they need to be working for me! I used to buy bags just for the hype and functionality wasn't the priority but as I've grown my collection I've gotten very picky. If the handle drop isn't workable, if it's hard to get in and out of, if it's way too small or too large, it's a No from me. I have so many bags I love, so anything new I add really needs to stand out and beat the existing competition in my collection. Wish I had this video when I first started collecting!
I've had a Falabella Bag for over 10 years and it has literally no signs of wear. Especially the hardware is better than most other high end brands! Leather is not actually an expensive material, nor is it more luxurious. And there are more materials out there than leather and not leather ;) Also let's not forget that Stella produces ethically
I second you Sophie on the Lady Dior bag! It is so beautiful and sophisticated looking and it has such great craftsmanship. I also find it very functional and roomy for all of my things.
I’m stopping mid video because I will forget what I want to say. I have avoided the Chanel Boy Bag since it’s release… it just never seemed to be a big that grabbed me. I have a number of Chanel bags and my most reached for is my calfskin classic mini/small bag… I really don’t know it’s official name. I’ve had it 10+ years and it’s in perfect condition. I have either the same or a very similar Stella McCartney bag and it’s the heaviest bag I own. I do love it but it’s just ugh to carry. Ok next half of your video! X
I am so surprised about the boy bag ! I have 3 of them , two old medium and one small ! And have none of these issues!!! Purchased them around 2015 and 2016 ! One thing though that mine has is some wear at bottom corners because the way they are shaped , but don’t bother me !
Great video Sophie! I have found that I love when a bag has an outside pocket for my phone. For this reason I love my Chanel 19 for everyday use. Your birthday earrings look beautiful on you. Sending a big hug from the US. XO
The Stella McCartney bag is definitely an older version. The one in the video is super shiny. Granted the light is contributing too but newer models are far more dull and look nothing like the one in the video.
Love your videos! I got a boy bag this summer and I think they have solved some of the issues. The bags are no longer lambskin so they don't wear as easily (I believe my SA said it was goatskin). Also, I have never gotten my hair stuck in the strap so perhaps they changed the design a bit there. I did get a base shaper to prevent the sagging because of a previous video you posted. Happy New Year!
I have to agree!!! Mine is in calfskin and I've had no issues with wear at all and very little sagging even without a base shaper. I've never got my hair stuck in the strap so I'm also thinking they might have changed the design.
i'm laughing so hard at the stella mccartney... i only like the mini version of that bag because it has a) the perfect slouchiness and b) isn't loud. my mom has one of the larger ones and you can always hear her coming and she struggles to find anything in it because it's *too* slouchy
You know you can always rely on Sophie to try them out and give her honest reviews for us!! 😂❤️❤️ love you Sophie! Some of us (me included) really have to save up for quite some time to get one of these bags so it’s really really helpful to see if it’s any good to purchase them. Thank you so much!
The Stella McCartney Flabella bag was extremely noisy. I gave mine away a few years ago. I just went through and purged a lot of my older bags that I just wasn’t using anymore. A few Gucci and a Chanel bag that did NOT wear well. I’d rather have my closet filled with bags that I ACTUALLY want to use and love to grab. Plus I was able to make some of my friends extremely happy with some freebies! 😉 Love your videos, Sophie!
I love the bucket bag that is def on my buckets list hee hee . I use a cheap bag in that style so easy to put things in and take out. Thanks for the info.
This video is so helpful just this week I gave one of my daughters a pair of Christian Louloutin pumps I paid $750 wore them once they were to narrow in the front couldn’t stand how you see the toe line and I also gave a zipper Louis Vuitton wallet that I paid $950 bought when I traveled to Las Vegas to my other daughter cause I had it in my drawer never used it too hard to get into and also too heavy! This is the best luxury bag video ever I even watched the commercials to make sure you got paid for it! Very helpful thanks ❤️
I love my Chanel boy with top handle, and it's maintained it's shape and I've never had my hair caught, but it is heavy. But I'll never get rid of it bc the look is sooooo everything. :)
i love your blouse! also, i really miss your Christmas vlogs from last year! youtube auto played one of them after this video and it reminded me of how relaxing it was!!
Sophie, I really appreciate this video. I am guilty of not thinking through how the bags will function and hold up! How stupid is that? I think of style, size and color...and that’s it. No more. I did get the mini Jodie already, and like you, I love the style. It was only after I got it home, I saw how the zipper is a pain, and it is hard to get things in and out because the strap is right there on top of the opening. An SA in LV saw me carrying it and asked if it was easy to get in and out of (a little snark?) I looked at her and said, “No! But I still love it.” Yes to bucket bags. I use my LV in damier azul with blue accents all the time.
I don’t read agree with Stella and dior assessment at all! I love my Falabella and use it as my daily bag. And the dior - nothing as elegant as a mini dior
Awww I love my bottega mini Jodie and use it all the time. I have no issues with it at all. To be fair, I never carry much stuff and stopped using larger bags ages ago. To each their own I suppose, but I adore it.
I totally agree with all your commentary and based on your advice i purchased the LV Alma BB this March and is the "my go " daily bag. Wonderful advice Sophie, thank you. 🤗
I haven't used my Alma BB in years, but you've inspired me too again! Also, you're selling me on that Lady Dior (medium).. she is beyond gorgeous. Just subscribed!
"It gets a saggy bottom, and no-one wants a saggy bottom" Im laughing so hard right now. Love it when you show us these videos they are so helpful, I almost bought a boy way back, but when I went into the store if looked cheap (this was when people were telling about the decrease in quality), the bag only looked good as I looked at in the mirror, but my givenchy antigona that I had brought with me that day felt so much more high quality despite the 2000 Euro price difference.
Your top is gorgeous, the top button is screaming for a brooch or similar. Also, the pic where you show the Bottega bag - it needs to be said, you look bomb!
I saw a video review on the Alma BB and they said it was horrible to use as a crossbody because the bottom sticks out and it's so structured. Thats why I didnt get that one. I love that Chanel black bucket.
I went to saxs in Atlanta this past sunday and the cost of the lady diors are insanely expensive over here in the US. Even the mini, it was beautiful and the chain strap felt amazing but when the lady told me the price i was blown away.
Thank you. I don't own anything nicer than a Fossil bag, but have considered getting one luxury bag. The Chanel Boy looks won me over, but I will look at the Dior or YSL bags you mentioned instead. I appreciate the honestly with all the flaws.
The Gabrielle backpack is a bucket bag and can be worn crossbody as well. The structured bottom makes it even better! I think that is always available and defiantly worth considering.❤️
I have a Chanel Chambon from the 90s it’s a bit like the boy. Wear in the body corner and due to design it’s squashed upwards forever and no amount of stuffing fixes it. Have t bought a Chanel bag since
Thank you for another wonderful video Sophie, this was very informative. I’m curious to know how do you feel about the Jacquemus brand? I’ve been eyeing the “Le Grand bambino” bag in khaki, and i don’t see much reviews on of it on youtube except for the “Le chiquita” bag
I don’t believe Jacquemus fits her aesthetic/brand, since she’s more “classic”, and Jacquemus in my mind reads as more modern. Love their design - super fresh!
I’m so excited to get my YSL camera bag!! It’s back ordered and will arrive 12/30! 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽 can you please do a more thorough review of that bag? Do you own in other colors?
Great video. To the annoying bags I'd add a Hermès birkin and Gucci Jackie. Same reason.. Get in and out is a hussle.. Also struggling a little bit wir Loewe puzzle. You need 2 hands to open, because it's soft.. 😅
I’m heading to london from Tokyo and making a special trip out to bicester village and of course Harrods and the vintage bag place you mentioned! Can’t wait! Always love your videos! Keep it up girlie!
I am surprised that no other Falabella owner besides my humble self is disappointed with the quality. I really love the rock chic Kate Moss late 00's look of it and would like to support the brand and their philosophy. However the chain is a catastrophy. It started losing its gunmetal dark silver tone after the third use in some places, revealing coppery metal underneath. And I was paying attention not to carry the bag out while it was raining or anything of the sort. And I saw that happen to others too. When I was in Japan I saw a woman with the same model on which the chain had turned a completely different, red-ish coppery colour. Wish I had known that before getting it. Now I only wear it on occasion to slow down the process of the hardware tarnishing more and more =/ Best avoid that bag
Another good size of the Lady Dior is the small version My Lady Dior abc, it comes with a good length of strap handle to wear cross body or in another way and because of the size it's perfectly fine for day wear and suitable for nights out. It's one of my favourites 😊
When I was at the Chanel store in Paris the SA was pushing the boy bag. I mentioned some of the annoying flaws Sophie has mentioned before and the SA was highly offended. He literally blamed any flaws on the bag owner not caring for a bag properly.

I really love bucket bag … Even during my youth. Got few of them .
I could never buy Stella McCartney's bags, they are over priced for bags that are not leather.
Most bags now are way over-priced even if they are real leather. We really justify a square foot of Lambskin being worth $8,000 😩
@@velvetgoldmine3268 I agree with you and that is why I do not own a bag over 200.

Mine is the same, I’ve not had an issue - maybe that is the justification for the price leap 😂😂
i'm laughing so hard at the stella mccartney... i only like the mini version of that bag because it has a) the perfect slouchiness and b) isn't loud. my mom has one of the larger ones and you can always hear her coming and she struggles to find anything in it because it's *too* slouchy
You know you can always rely on Sophie to try them out and give her honest reviews for us!! 😂❤️❤️ love you Sophie! Some of us (me included) really have to save up for quite some time to get one of these bags so it’s really really helpful to see if it’s any good to purchase them. Thank you so much!
i loooooooooooooove all my Stella McCartney bags, not only the Falabella, love them all! i do get all the criticism toward the Falabella
This is my all time favourite Sophie video!!!
Love your videos, Sophie!
If you’re looking for new friends, I’m available 😆
@@keemiel4005 Hahahaha, yes, me too. And I promise I won't complain about noisy bags XD
Hello friend 👋😁
Thank you for a super informative video - I had never considered looking at a bucket bag, I will now! Great suggestions for the other bags too.
I love the bucket bag that is def on my buckets list hee hee . I use a cheap bag in that style so easy to put things in and take out. Thanks for the info.
I have the bigger size double knots one in orange with studs.
No compartments inside but I still enjoy wearing that bag with me~
You can use leather colour fo the edges. It works very well and the bags look like new.
Hey! Thanks for the video. I completely agree with you about the boy bag. I sold it almost immediately after purchasing it.
I would also include on the list of good choices and practicality the Loewe Amazona !
Loved the video! My medium Lady Dior is my favorite bag too. The strap does fit me crossbody as a busty woman at 5'4" (161 cm?) tall
What makes you keep and not sell the Boy bag, Sophie?
Thank you for reviewing the Stella McCartney Falabella. Would you consider reviewing some more high end vegan bags? Love your videos!
Love your video, and the comments!! Thanks 💕
Hi sophie you are so beautiful I hope you and david are well it's so lovely to see you again thanks so much for your very useful vlog stay safe xxx
I have that stella Mccartney bag in orange. Wore it once and never again. Super irritating
It makes me so happy that you showed the ysl camera bag! I bought it two weeks ago with you Farfetch discount! I love it :)
May I ask how much discount is 🤔 ?
@@anne-marie2972 hey! Sorry I didn't see this earlier, I paid 981 pounds instead of 1090
Love your shoutout to the med Lady. I got that size too after your previous reviews. I'm glad to report after a year that it's my best choice. 🥰
I can’t believe you mentioned that white YSL! I have ordered it for Christmas as a bag for my wedding year 🥰
Totally agree with the Stella McCartney Falabella bag. Sold mine again in a heartbeat....
I just got LV pochette metis in black and the quality is amazing. Perfect for everyday cross body bag and under £2000!
Hahaha I never close my mini Jodie either. But I can’t help how much I love the look 🥰 amazingly entertaining video as per usual 😊
Thank you. I don't own anything nicer than a Fossil bag, but have considered getting one luxury bag. The Chanel Boy looks won me over, but I will look at the Dior or YSL bags you mentioned instead. I appreciate the honestly with all the flaws.
I am very much interested in the LV Alma BB bag and Neonoe bag in both epi leather.
YSL camera bag is my most used bag love it
The Gabrielle backpack is a bucket bag and can be worn crossbody as well. The structured bottom makes it even better! I think that is always available and defiantly worth considering.❤️
LOL this clip is so funny esp. when you said “ I have more annoying bags to show you 🙂” LOL
Thanks for the info Soph. Love you much!
How are you getting on with the goyard mini Saigon?
I have never had a problem with the Boy bag because I got it in the calf skin. Its a great bag imo.
Loved how detailed you’re 🙏
Ooh I recognize the earrings David got you on your birthday from the vlog, Sophie! They look fantastic!
Sophie you are the only person i know who can be elegantly funny and cute all at the same time 😂😂😂
Thanks for your list Sophie. /Marie from Sweden
I love my vintage Louis Vuitton bucket bag😻
Great video. To the annoying bags I'd add a Hermès birkin and Gucci Jackie. Same reason.. Get in and out is a hussle.. Also struggling a little bit wir Loewe puzzle. You need 2 hands to open, because it's soft.. 😅
I’m heading to london from Tokyo and making a special trip out to bicester village and of course Harrods and the vintage bag place you mentioned! Can’t wait! Always love your videos! Keep it up girlie!
Love this video! Thank you for sharing your honesty and bag wisdom 😊
Sad ! I wanted the Bottega bag
Great video!!!
Need to get Alma BB, been wanting it for a while.
Now I only wear it on occasion to slow down the process of the hardware tarnishing more and more =/
Best avoid that bag
Another good size of the Lady Dior is the small version My Lady Dior abc, it comes with a good length of strap handle to wear cross body or in another way and because of the size it's perfectly fine for day wear and suitable for nights out.
It's one of my favourites 😊
