    Your videos are outstanding! The BDR crew should hire you to do their videos. Beautiful footage and great explanations at the beginning. Thank you for your time sharing these

      Trane, if you knew what the BDR crew goes through to create these routes you wouldn't be so quick to try and give their credit away.
      No one films like Sterling in the ADV world!
      The BDR crew also doesn't get paid, they do it out of kindness for the rest of the world to enjoy the routes without the years it takes to plan them!
      So honestly your an ass

    Hi Niko! Thanks for the videos. Love it! I just learned of these videos today, 6-7-2024. I have snowmobiled the Snow Range one time but never been there in the summer. Is the WY BDR possible in a 2024 two door Jeep Rubicon? End of August early September.

    • @NikoKavallar
      @NikoKavallar  3 місяці тому +1

      It absolutely is! I also got a Wrangler and the trails are definitely doable, though I also would advise not to do it when wet. It will also take longer in a Jeep so plan accordingly

      @@NikoKavallar Thank you. My plan is in early August to do the Idaho BDR starting in Priest Lake, ID to Jarbidge, NV then down to Vegas for six days, then up through Utah to Colorado, and Wyoming then back to northern Minnesota. I am looking at six weeks but I have no time restraints. I am in the planning stages right now and I appreciate the help from people like yourself!

      @The800Dragon happy to help! I know the BDR Facebook page also has overlanders on it and they may be able to give more info. It took me about 8-9 days for the WYBDR but I would imagine it will take a few days more in a vehicle

    You've really got a knack for making good videos. Thanks so much! We leave on S2N route Sept. 3rd from Denver. What drone are you using??

      Thanks, I really appreciate it! I’m using the Skydio 2+ drone which is incredible. Happy to give some advice and tips on how to use it for motorcycle trip - feel free to email me at nkavallar@gmail.com

      @@NikoKavallar wow! Thanks for answering me.
      I did have a 2015 KTM 690 r and now I have a Yamaha t7 but I think I want a newer KTM 690 now. Which bike do you think would better for the BDR?

    • @NikoKavallar
      @NikoKavallar  Рік тому +1

      KTM 690 is better in my opinion - there is a good chance you will encounter mud/clay on the trip and the extra weight of the T7 might be an issue. Additionally we ran into someone with a T7 who had some major problems with the suspension and clay packing due to the low fender.
      I rode a Husqvarna 701 which did great without any issues

    Great video series! I have not ridden the WY BDR, hopefully next year (I have ridden the NM, UT and CO BDR's) Looks like you have the Aux tank in place of the stock airbox, I have one as well on my KTM 690 R. Question, do you ever have issues with fuel boiling in the AUX tank? I have experienced boiling fuel once on a rather warm day on a slow rock climb where the engine was definitely running hot. Scared the hell out of me, thought the thing was going to blow up. Fortunately, there seemed to be no ill effect of the boiling fuel, but it is always something I worry about.

    • @NikoKavallar
      @NikoKavallar  2 роки тому

      Thanks Eric! You are correct, I have the Rade Aux tank as well, though I’ve never had fuel boiling even riding high altitude through Utah - make sure that the bottom of the tank has the heat shield installed properly. I also run the larger radiator fan kit from the 701LR, 190F radiator fan switch, engine ice, fuel dongle, and wings exhaust -- all which help lower the engine temp

    • @ericbock1233
      @ericbock1233 2 роки тому +1

      @@NikoKavallar Thanks, yes I have the heat shield material correctly installed. I did not know about a larger fan being available, I will look into that. I have the fuel dongle and a Wings exhaust as well. I will try the engine ice coolant (I use engine ice on my 350 EXC-F and it works well). Oh, one thing on the AUX tank I had happen, the fuel tank filler neck threads are a very fine thread and with the metal gas cap it is very easy to cross thread. I was lucky and caught it before I did too much damage and able to get the threads re cut. I now use Vaseline on the threads and go very careful. Kind of wish they would have supplied a plastic gas cap instead. Thanks again for the great video series. Take Care

    Could it be that the name "Deep river crossing" means that "This is a place to cross the deep river" rather than "This river crossing is deep"?

    • @NikoKavallar
      @NikoKavallar  Рік тому

      Who knows haha, it definitely wasn’t deep when we got there. I’ve heard that it can become too deep to cross if you go earlier in the year.
