I have really enjoyed this series, Lisbeth. I have really been drawn to your style. It's really different than mine so I've been intrigued with figuring out what you're doing that draws me. I think it's a combination of your colors, textures, composition and the creativity that takes it beyond a 'card' - like your binding here. Just looking at this piece along the spine is so textural! And maybe it's a sense of mystery since I often think 'how did she make/color that bit of paper she's using? I don't have a clue.' I did realize that, very likely, two pieces I've done recently have been influenced by your work and that made me happy - to see that I was able to take what you've shown and grown/expanded my own style from it. I think your work is very distinctive within the UA-cam channels covering mixed media. I'm looking forward to what you do next.
Your art is stunning and I love that you are sharing it with us ❣️ Thank you so much for showing us how you tied this little book of art together … it’s great 💖
I love this binding! What kind of string did you use? Do you just leave the strings hanging around or can they be cut done without compromising the construction?
Thanks. I used waxed linen thread. I like my hanging, but I think you can cut them off. To be “better safe than sorry” give the knots a little drop of glue, let it dry and then cut the thread of.
Yes, you are truly brilliant. I sit down to create my art then become overwhelmed by OCD lol & proceed to organize it. Since being ill-being in the studio is hard. So I will get inspired by you or Sarah or another talented friend or inspiring human. I will then drag half a studio depending on what I want to do by the time I do that & organize it all I will have been up sometimes day into the next. To find myself with stacks everywhere on my bed & nodding with exhaustion & dropping it all on the floor. Then unable to get it back to my studio for days. Ha, you should see me try metalsmithing in bed. Gaw. So for now live for your videos & I adore your aura from afar. Thanks for allowing me to be inspired during this odd time in my life. Misty
Your work is beautiful Lisbeth. I really enjoy your pieces and your aesthetic. Thanks for the demonstration of this binding. I'm going to give it a try.
I was inspired to learn your binding technique after seeing K3n's journal. You make it look delightfully simple - I'm keen to give it a try. Thank you for sharing ❤❤
Thank you! This binding technique is so straightforward, so simple and handsome, I definitely will try it. Really good silent video. Seeing it is better than hearing it explained. Perfect!
I just rebound two journals that had ring bindings. I hated them even though I painted the silver rings with alcohol ink. It took only an hour or so and now that look great! Thanks again.
I love the colours you use and the way you work in a very relaxed but perfectly controlled way. Youve really inspired me to try to make a little book. What is the name of the cord you use?
I have a bunch of leftover heavy water color papers ( 425 gsm)so I cut them to size 10 x 10 cm and they will be my substrate. Also I decided to punch holes in the substrates, because I will bind them to a book.
