I used to go to an old style gym back in the day, while the punters were pumping iron the owner would be welding up a new piece of kit. It was in an old factory, it was cheap and had all the gear you needed.
Such negativity. One must remember the era. Amazing development for that era . AA a former Mr Ireland winner in 1988 I moved to Califorina to be. Pro bodybuilder . I’ve competed amongst the best in the world . Mr California Mr America Mr World . These guys look amazing considering the era
What Irish title did you win exactly Richard? I was competing around that time and won more than a few Irish titles. I remember competing against a Ritchie Casey from Limerick but the best he did was come second to me a couple of times.
@@frankwallace8108 I remember your name . i think you are from cork . The Mr Cork i think in 1984, then i won the Mr Ireland 🇮🇪 intermediate in 1987 then 1988 i won the Mr. Ireland . i then moved to California , didn’t train for a couple of yrs due to finding a job and place to live . J went on then ti compete in the Mr. California, Mr Usa 🇺🇸 , North American championships . i did each show many times over . My move to california was not necessarily to bodybuild but a better financial standard of living . I am from Limerick with my last name being casey and first Richard . i think Ireland 🇮🇪 during my time had great upcoming bodybuilders including yourself Frank but little opportunity. i trained around Sean Bullman , Blue Shinnwers Rest in Peace . i have pics and videos on the net and UA-cam as casey Richards and Southill Pride. I took an early retirement Frank from competing as a trophy was not worth dying for as bodybuilding has become chemical ware fare . Today i am 59 yrs old 245 pound and in great shape . i work as a Personal Trainer now semi retired - enjoying life . Yes i remember you
Oh yea the only way to do a lay pull-down is to the front. Absolute nonsense which has been spread throughout the fitness industry. Tens of thousands did the last pull-down to the back and never had a problem.
Goes to show you how much you know . Today 2023 Lat Pulldowns are still performed from behind . In fact as a pro bodybuilder from Limerick living in California all My life , I still perform. The Irish needs to support our athletes and not be so negative which such envy . Get off your ass and at least be competitive on the world stage rather than run your lazy good for nothing mouths . 😂

I’m surprise how good the audio quality is for 1967.

They look incredible given they were not only all natural but also probably doing it mainly on a diet of bread, eggs and milk

Be good to do a follow up to see what they look like now at age 80
Got some news to tell you
The most benefit of this is good health and feeling good every day not running up and down to see doctors like most lazy buggers

Great to see the legendary Al Courtney who ended up training clients at World Gym on Talbot street in the 90s
