    Another advantage is that all your ergos remain exactly the same, including how your actual trigger feels (staging, pull weight, break, reset). Brilliant solution.

      @aPlateOfGrapes so in essence you can train and still use your optic as opposed to the way Chris was using in this video which was just the laser?

      @@khangngo753 Correct. The laser will only come on when you pull the trigger. The "always on" laser is good for zeroing to your red dot, then shut it off.

    Would be nice if they could make a version of just the STANAG magazine that could be used in other platforms to still reset the trigger. The laser isn’t as important and could be sacrificed if you could still reset the trigger. Yes, the AR is the most common, but other rifles do exist…

    I've seen laser cartridges for pistols online I want, some with lightgun targets, others with a phone app that records video of the target, but I've never used one before. My first gun came with a coupon for a Viridian laser, so I've been using my pistol laser as a training tool to check my aim while dry firing. It's helped out so much for instinctive aiming as well.

    Its a great dry fire tool for ar15's but if i could go back, i would have just got the regular blackbeard. I have the MantisX and the laser academy and that was/is worth ALL the monies.
    What I gathered from this review is that it operates like the MantisX, w trigger reset but no shot placement recognition?

    Does the laser from the BCG cripple you from actually using your optic? As in, could it make you worse at sight picture by subconsciously relying on the bore laser instead of looking through your sights, and forgetting about holds at various distances?

  • @No-1.In.Particular
    @No-1.In.Particular 2 місяці тому

    I'll be honest, for the common man, this only sounds worth it for the sake of improving performance with a pistol, not so much a rifle. Like you said, I think that force-on-force training is really where this thing would shine, but not so much for dry fire IMO. Although I would be worried about an actual laser potentially grazing my eye in a force-on-force training scuffle, if it's not an actual laser than never mind, it's all good.

      Theres an app that you can get, if you use the targets you can print for free online then the app uses you phone camera in a tripod to watch for the laser and then can give you feed back. For some reason he has his laser set to always on but usually it just pulses the laser when you pull the trigger.

  • @JimTempleman

    Why does the red laser stay on all the time? (That's what it looks like, to me.)
    - If you're not using a laser for aiming in the real world, this would impart negative training.
    The SIRT laser pistol is sometimes used to set up a red laser out of the shooter's view,
    so the instructor can follow what's being done. But that wasn't mentioned here.
    Is there a mode where the laser only comes on when the trigger is pulled?

    I didn't realize the laser stayed on all the time. I don't think that would be very useful because you might end up relying on the laser to track your shots and not the optic. If you start relying on that crutch for target acquisition, it might be a bad thing. The laser should fire each time you pull the trigger so you can see where you hit.
