Even my alcohol consumption is cut waaay back. When I was younger I did pretty many hard drugs and it Did affect my nervous system, so did pot, probably mainly pot. I want to experience life as clean as possible...if my diet and lack of exercise doesn't kill me first....
I think the thing that 'makes them defensive' is you clearly like confrontations to post that part of the line, almost as a challenge, in the first place, so are likely just projecting their defensive onto them in the first place as it makes you feel like you've accomplished something.
