Although very dark this is the only POV of the original ride in its opening year that I know of. Some of the effects aren't operating in this video.
The revamped ride reopens this month!

Can't believe they got rid of the backwards drop.
Apparently, the second turntable was causing too much downtime/reliability issues, right back to when it first opened in 2000, that’s why they done away with it.
But it was still a good experience and I enjoyed it yesterday 🎉

This is from the year before I first went to Blackpool. The ride was closed for a while when we first tried to get on it, but was reopened later in the day.
This is when Valhalla was at its absolute peak! 👌 I’m sure they will get it back to this again! 💪

Dude none of the effects are on. For a ride that at the time you claim was at it's "absolute peak" this POV doesn't prove that

@@masterknife8423 It does say it was pre-opening so similar to the current tech rehearsal, I guess this was the 2000's version of that.

When you look at this footage shortly before officially opening, it just goes to show that not everything was working straight away, but then either, so all the people complaining that it’s worse than it was before. I just don’t understand that, especially when it’s going through technical rehearsals.
I will wait till it is officially open and completely finished before I make a judgement🙂
Although they didn’t open it in this state originally, this footage was before opening to the public.
I tried going on it during "technical rehearsals" over a week ago. Unfortunately it broke down just before the first lift hill and in the end we were led off the boats, queueline was cleared and the ride closed. That said no real fire on either of the torches was a huge let down and ever since it's made me feel unsure about going back on. I'm getting a strong smell of downgrading. But I'm gonna wait until these "technical rehearsals" are over until I give it another shot
@@masterknife8423 I’m not bothered about having real fire in that particular scene, but they still have real fire on the arrows and the final scenes, which to me really counts.
If they had to cut some more fire, I’d rather it was those torches personally then the main blasts at the end of the ride, as that’s meant to be one of the highlights.
@Doug Briglmen Fair enough. Those fire torches got me so hyped because of how epic it looked. I didn't see anything like it at the time. If it's a small price to pay then I'm okay with that
I rode this the same month. It was great.
6:30 That fake fire/mist affect in the corner there had been out of action for a long time it was restored after the reimagining, with new modern LED lighting🙂

Pleasure Beach have destroyed Valhalla. It’s now a disaster of a ride compared to how it was before they started the project 3 years ago and spent £4 million making the ride worse. How embarrassing for BPB management!😂
Highly disagree. Been on it multiple times already this year and frequent breakdowns aside I personally think it's better than it previously was before 2019
