Although i've never bin on this ride in person, it looked like a pretty ride. Such a shame that this ride is replaced by a new screen based shooter dark ride.
Classic 80's Dark Ride, shame when Six Flags took it over they closed it! Tell you what else I loved when Walibi Wavre opened some Tintin rides from 1975 to 1995, when it lost the rights to the franchise. + then in the 80's In 1987, with a waterpark, Aqualibi that opened next door. A water-skiing area, which lasted until 1994 etc......
@@mario64remix There weren't any scenes copied but they stole some figures from designs which Ton Van De Ven made for Fata Morgana. The Efteling even had to fire some of the employees because they leaked information to walibi.
@@jorre_games357 But then which figures were copied? You have to least give some examples lol. And you can't say just say "the salesman on the market" or something generic like that since there's literally no way to make an Arabian Nights ride without including those cliches. And huh, now it's not entire scenes but just some figures that were copied. According to some versions of the story it also wasn't employees who leaked the info but a couple of fans... And that's a problem: the story keeps changing every time and that doesn't help its credibility in the slightest.
Wow.. this brought back some memories as I loved that ride as a kid.. the video doesn't do the experience justice with the lighting as the atmos in the ride was pretty cool. Oh how janky those robotics looked.. but yeah in those days we thought a couple of pixels looked like an Italian plumber.
I hope you don't mind me asking, but are you going to be uploading the uncut POV of the 1987 version of: The 5th Dimension, with the pre-show? or the 1988 version of the pre-show? I'm just curious!
Ah yes, the ripoff of Efteling’s Fata Morgana that was rushed to be opened before… Well, to be honest, the ride does have a few unique scenes and I think I’d love to have ridden it if it was still open.
Most scenes are unique, there are a couple that have a similar theme but that's what you get when you draw from the same source material. There has never been any hard proof that even one of the scenes was copied from Fata. Also, your claim that it ''was rushed to be opened before'' makes no sense, it's just that Fata took a much longer time to develop.
@@mario64remix oi oi, easy, Remix, this is just what I’ve heard, and my point was that it actually looks pretty good and would’ve probably been a great dark ride. I indeed didn’t see that many resemblances either, though it’s still strange they openend so close together. The wording of my comment could have definitely been better looking back. Oh, and by the way: you are Eftel64remix as well right? Your remixes are amazing!
@@EftelQuint Sorry, I'm just sick of people repeating endlessly that it's a Fata rip-off even though there is no evidence for it. There's some vague anecdotal evidence, sure, but then there's also multiple denials. So basically, we have nothing. It might have been a conscious decision of Walibi to create an Arabian Nights ride based on what Efteling was doing, but that's not the same as copying scenes. The problem is, it's very hard to prove that something DIDN'T happen. Like the classic ''Walt Disney visited the Efteling once'' story. There's always going to be people who believe it, just because it's been talked about it so much, not because it actually happened! And yes, that's me. Thanks! :)
I loved this ride in the 90s as a kid❤❤

They copied it from the fata Morgana in the Efteling
@@dansemacabre9339 Did they, never heard/read any conformation on that before!

Pure nostalgie! It was my favorite ride in Walibi Wavre.

The 1988 Preshow can be found on UA-cam in its entirety if you just search it up
