"It defaults to Celsius, which is unfortunate" gee I wonder why they would default to Celsius. They ship worldwide and 192 countries use Celsius and 3 use Fahrenheit
If only there was some way for my phone to know what country I was in and adjust to local standards accordingly. Some sort of positioning system. A GLOBAL Positioning System maybe?! Oh, one thing at a time. (Your comment was also unfortunate)

So this needs an ac with the remote. What if my ac doesn't have remote at all. All manual switches. I have seen this done with a small kit. Any guess where I can find this kit with a small remote for manual ac.

Hmmmm I'm not sure - I'd check with Sensibo support to see if you could manually pick the remote. It seems like it should be possible..

Neat, but I cannot see spending $130 to get a function that a newer $300 AC would have.
I suppose if I already had a great window AC without the feature that I didn't want to get rid of, this would be a perfect product.

Smart plugs are very easily & cheaply available in India. One can use those..
Sometimes they don't work with the high power AC's need, and if they do, a digital AC may not turn on when power is supplied to the plug.
That’s useless imo, you can only turn it on or off. This lets you set the temperature and cooling modes too I think. And you can use Siri too as it’s got HomeKit supoort
ive went through many smart plugs on a window unit. They dont last during a power surge.

There are no shortage of ACs that actually don't have a remote. So using any AC is very very very misleading.
